Playing through the latest build of DBZ and I figured out what the capsules do. You can customize the moves of a character, like Goku, and use that set of moves in Duel and Practice modes. I just cannot believe how uncanny the characters in the game resemble the animated series ones. Granted their 3D in the game, but it only makes it look more real. They look like they're almost cell-shaded over the top of the 3D character models. But not the extreme cell-shaded look of Jet Set Radio. I reached the final chapter in the Namek Saga today. It looks like they have condensed the sagas by combining the Namek with the Frieza Saga. (Because you face Frieza with Goku as the last chapter of the Namek Saga.) The story is still accurate to the series though. It was really cool to see Goku in his battle worn Gi as I faced Frieza in the second fight. The cut scenes between Goku and Frieza, as Namek is breaking apart, look amazing. I have received two Dragon Ball capsule cards. I wonder what they do?

I received my first build of DBZ on the PS2 today. Everything is in Japanese. (I'll have to figure out a way to translate it.) Once I finally got in, I couldn't believe the graphics. I'm not accustomed to seeing these characters in 3D. The graphics look like some sort of hybrid 3D cell-shade. It looks amazing. The Story Mode seems to use the in-game graphics to act out the cut-scenes. It was pretty cool to see the scene were Raditz kidnaps Gohan at Master Roshi's. There's an interesting level were I had to spin the left analog stick as fast as I could to hold Raditz in place while Piccolo prepared his Special Beam Cannon. I have never seen that play mechanic used in such a way. I keep getting these capsules after every successful level that I complete, but I can't tell yet what they do (in part because the game is still in Japanese). I can't wait to see and hear this game with the scripts by the American voice actors in the code.
