DBGTN.com: [Return to the Previous Page]

• Miscellaneous: Site History

Our first Dragonball site was for my brother fReD, in late months of 1999 and was naturally called "Fred's Dragonball Z Web Page". It was under geocities.com/fredsdbz but it was closed down by geocities and we decided to move. While moving we had decided to think of a new name, "DBZGT", first started out on freewebsites.com under the url dbzgt.koolhost.com. We were just realizing that the look was one factor of making a website good. I designed a few of them but all stunk. We had many problems with freewebsites.com so I moved the site back to geocities under the url geocities.com/dbgtnet and with a new layout version 1 that looked good at the time. On that host we got most of our content up and gained major visitors. SaiyaCenter saw our growing site and decided to take us under his wing. Our site now located at dbgt.saiyacenter.com gained even more popularity, we had to re-locate because SaiyaCenter became Xeno-Net. Our new url dbgt.xeno-net.com(no longer exists) opened with a new layout version 2 and a new name "DBGTNet" and remained in the top 30 at DragonballTop50.com Until Madhosts(which was Xeno-Net's host) closed down. Anime-FX.net hosted us from there on, they had too much downtime though so we moved to 2GUI.com under a few sub-domains. In the middle of all that moving within 2GUI.com we got accepted by AnimeVegeta.com now Saiyanz Fury(szfury.net). Opening 06.26.01 with yet a new layout version 3. In desperate search for hosts we came across majin-rage.com and then saiyanexplosion.com, it didn't last long for us to move yet again. We were allocated on the dbgt.com domain hosted by the former owner of it, Ruben(his site is now dbzorg) for some time until an unfortunate incident happened. If you remember then ok, if you don't sorry, I don't want to bring up any more arguments. Anywho, after this misshap I decided to get my own server, I bought the dbgtn.com domain and moved in... and as you can see the rest is history.

- First Layout Ever:
Yes it's true, we once looked as horrid as anyone can imagine. Yes you guessed it, this is our very first layout ever. It goes against everything I believe in now :)
- Second Layout Ever:
Even though it's nothing more than broken images(sorry I couldn't find the original images) this design is not as bad as the first. About three more designs came right after this one but for some reason I no longer have them.
- Layout Version 1:
Although it says Version 1 this is obviously not the first design for our site, it is mearly the first one I started to keep a track of. Doesn't use much graphics, mostly tables and regular html.
- Layout Version 2:
This design is the first one I started to make with mostly all images. From the header to the left and right navigations, and finally the main content's table. This design was suppossed to look more professional, but just couldn't cut it.
- Layout Version 3 a-c:
This design had many header modifications, the one currently on the left of this text was Version 3.a. Version 3.b can be seen <here> and Verision 3.c can be seen <here>. The design is about the same as Version 2 just a different color scheme and a few javascript additions.
- Layout Version 4:
Version 4 is more of a big update to version 3. This design was organized a bit and used more attractive graphics with less size in them. Few parts were moved around to help give it a better navigation style.
- Layout Version 5:
The most graphics based design our site has ever had. More user friendly than the rest with a better navigational style to best output our site's content.
- Layout Version 6:
This version was more of a temporary design to keep people off my back until the new design was finished. As you can see it's basically an upgrade of version 5.
Not Available- Layout Version 7:
The design is finished, tried to be creative but seems I lost my touch. It's still put very nicely, hopefully the next design I make is a lot more original than all the rest.
