The Legendary
Super Saiyan
A fabled myth, or an incredible hero, these two descriptions
sum up the super Saiyan debate perfectly. Who is the legendary figure who managed to
achieve the legendary power?
Many different viewpoints have been put across on this
matter, with many contrasting opinions. There are so many super Saiyans that it is near
impossible to determine which one could be the most likely candidate for the title of
legendary super Saiyan.
The first ever person to achieve the title was Goku during
his epic battle against Frieza, upon his best friend Krillen being incinerated and
disintegrated by a seemingly uncalled for and pointless attack. It was at this time that
Vegeta believed Goku was the legend of which his people had been awaiting for such a huge
period of time. Frieza too was scared that the Earth-raised Saiyan could be the legendary
monster come to haunt him for his crimes. This however was the wrong assumption, as Goku
certainly isnt a legendary super Saiyan. He was a mere low level soldier, so there
is no way he could have become any type of legend, despite his immense power.
Surely then it must have been Vegeta? He had the royal
bloodline, and his power was incredibly high when he finally completed the transformation.
Unfortunately for him though, this isnt the case, as he is undoubtedly just another
super Saiyan.
Goten and Chibi Trunks dont manage to top the criteria
either, as they are only SSJ because their fathers were, and whilst they both have
incredible power, it isnt even close to legendary. When they fuse their power is
indescribably huge though, although it is improbable that the legend would be a fused
version of two young kids.
Future Trunks was an awesomely powerful half-Saiyan who
achieved the upgrade in power at a comparatively early age. He fought off the
Androids, and in his time he was the last person left who could stop them. Would
this make him the legendary hero? Nope, another one who falls short of the post.
Gohan is the final good guy who managed to turn
super Saiyan, but why would a legend accomplish the goal after three others had? He may
have managed to rise above Cell and even his own father at one point, but he was unable to
keep this up and dramatically fell behind in terms of power. He even dropped his super
Saiyan image to go mystic, an even better form where the strength is the same, but the
anger is non-existent. Because of this, Gohan cannot be the legend, as he didnt even
stay a super Saiyan during the course of his life, instead opting for the mystic form.
With all those warriors out of the equation, then it is all
narrowed down to the final super Saiyan, the one believed by most to be the legend. His
name is of course, Brolli. His strength was far beyond anyone elses, and he was
unsurpassable, only getting defeated to weaker opposition who had borrowed power
temporarily from others. He was destined to become a spectacular fighter with unimaginable
strength, and perfectly carried out this prophecy. He isnt the legendary super
Saiyan though.
I bet youre all wondering who is? Well the real
legendary super Saiyan was the one from thousands of years back, who only had the
ability to maintain his power under a full moon. Whilst his power wasnt as high as
the other SSJs, he was the first one known in history, and stories were told about
him, passed down along the generations, thus making him a legend.
So theres your unexpected answer, although if
youre one of those stubborn people who refuse to believe that someone who
didnt feature in the series can be the legend, then heres the other answer:
There isnt one. Only one legendary super Saiyan has ever been born, and it
wasnt Goku or his friends, but that nameless Oozaru with insane power. |
