Dragonball Z Episode 8: Gohan's Conjuration on the Night of the Full Moon

(original, Japanese episode)

Episode 8: Gohan’s Conjuration on the Night of the Full Moon Gohan is still sleeping on top of the cliff, too scared to climb down, even for food. Chi-Chi is upset Goku and Gohan didn’t return, while Krillin is debating whether or not to tell her the truth. He decides to sneak out of the house and return to Kame House. Once there, he tells Roshi and Bulma he couldn’t do it and they decide to write a letter to Chi-Chi explaining what happened. Unknown to them, Chi-Chi and Ox King are on their way over to Kame House. Bulma finishes rebuilding the scouter and reads Roshi and Krillin's power levels. Roshi's level is read at 139, while Krillin registers at 206. Roshi thinks there is a malfunction, but Bulma reassures it measures correctly by reading Turtle's power level, a whopping .001! Krillin is now stronger than his master. Yajirobe arrives and delivers a message that Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Chaiotzu have been summoned to Kami’s place for special training. He then says do not revive Goku until full year has passed because he is training in hell. Right after he leaves, Chi-Chi and Ox King arrive. Ox greets Roshi while Bulma and Krillin cower. Roshi deals the bad news to them, and Chi-Chi passes out. Gohan still refuses to climb down the cliff, watching a stampede of dinosaurs run by. He then falls asleep, but is awakened by a squirrel stealing the cores of his apples. Gohan tries to play with it, but it runs away and down the cliff. The clouds clear overhead and Gohan wonders why it is so bright at night. He then looks up at the moon, and sees his first full moon. Piccolo watches overhead as Gohan transforms into his Oozaru form, which is like a huge ape, and starts to demolish everything. Piccolo then figures out, since Radditz spoke highly of a tail and transforming to a full moon, that he must take out the moon. With a quick blast, the moon is destroyed. Gohan transforms back to his usual self and falls unconscious. Piccolo then rips off Gohan’s tail to make sure nothing like that could ever happen again. He then gives Gohan new clothes, similar to the ones Goku wears but has Piccolo’s symbol on the back, and a sword. He then says he has to go train himself and will return in six months. If Gohan lives, he will give him the harshest training of all.
