Summary:

Approach of the Tenkaichi Budoukai
At Capsule Corporation, the gravity room is busily occupied by two fighters, young and old. Vegeta spars with himself by showing a flurry of punches to the air, while in his Super Saiyan state. Trunks, however, is struggling to walk around, as Vegeta kicks the air more. Vegeta explains to Trunks to not overexert himself, because 100x gravity might be too much. Trunks lectured that Goten called last night and said he would be in the Budoukai, so he wants to enter too! Vegeta smirks at his son, asking if they really think this is just child's play? Trunks pants up a storm, saying that this is just too hard and needs to turn Super Saiyan! Vegeta asks what did he mean!? Trunks immediately turns Super Saiyan, making Vegeta surprised to the extent. Trunks starts jumping up and down while giggling, then runs around the room yelling this is too easy now. Vegeta can only stare at his young son, asking himself how did he do that? He asks once more how did he turn into a legend, the Super Saiyan!? Trunks does lots of back flips to pass the time, when Vegeta calls for his son's attention.

Trunks stops suddenly, staring at his dad. Vegeta asks if Gohan's younger brother can do this, making Trunks say yes! Vegeta is beside himself, wondering how can these brats turn Super Saiyan? Vegeta then commands Trunks to attack him, making Trunks confused. Trunks whines and says it's too hard, because he, his dad, is much stronger than him! Vegeta puts up his fists, saying to just hurry up! He bargains that if he hits him in the face, he'll take him to the amusement park! Trunks asks if that's for real, if he would really do that!? Trunks tells him that he's ready, making Vegeta say to do his best! Trunks takes a swing for Vegeta, but Vegeta dodges it, so Trunks tries to do several punches above Vegeta's head. Vegeta easily dodges tem all, making Vegeta becoming more aware and alert. Trunks goes for more swings, hitting his dad's hands. Finally, Trunks grazes Vegeta's face, making Vegeta angry and attacks back, hitting his son across the room. Vegeta stands in a pose from his punch, making Trunks say it hurts! Trunks rubs his face, saying he cheated because he hit back! Vegeta told him that he never said he wouldn't. Trunks curses himself, while Vegeta demands for him to not cry, but he will take him to the amusement park. He interrogates Trunks after that, asking if he is stronger than Goten?

Trunks explains that he is a bit stronger, because Goten is a year younger and can't fly. Vegeta gets angry, saying that he's only a bit more older? Meanwhile, Videl has mastered flying to about five feet into the air, catching Gohan's attention saying she can float really well! Gohan says that she's performing well, and says that that's about it, that there's nothing more to teach. Goten flies back around, making Videl ask how long will it take for here to do that? Gohan gets a little puzzled, saying he's not sure. Videl announces she will train everyday until she can fly like that! Gohan flies up to Goten, telling him to not fly like that when Videl is around! Gohan comes back down, making Videl ask what's wrong? Gohan tells her it's nothing at all, just giving advice! Videl walks on land again, wiping the sweat from her forehead and asking for a break. Videl sits on the ground, asking Gohan if he can keep this a secret from her dad, because she wants this as a surprise! Gohan smiles happily, saying he can do it! Videl gets serious, saying that it might also be a problem for her to come to a boy's house, because her dad only wants me to date boys stronger than her dad. Videl explains that her dad is World Champion, so there probably is no one.

She admits though, that Gohan might do good, but doesn't act like. Gohan chuckles a tiny bit, making him say if she ever does spar with her dad? Videl laughs out loud, asking if he meant THE World Champion? She exclaims that her dad barely teaches her now, so she trains alone. Gohan grows a smile, saying he's right, that Videl is actually stronger than Mr. Satan! Gohan then has another question, asking if her dad might get upset losing to someone? Videl shakes her fist, yelling he's way too arrogant! She yells more he can't tolerate losing from losing all the lust from girls, even though her mom passed away. She admits that he needs shame in losing! Videl stands up, stretching a bit and then asks who trained you, Gohan? Gohan says that his dad did and this other guy (referring to Piccolo). Videl thinks for a bit, saying that his dad must be really strong. Gohan exclaims that he really was. Goten grows happy, announcing that his dad is coming back for a day at the Budoukai!

Videl looks at Goten all strange-like, asking if he said he's coming back? She says that she thought he passed away, so how could he? Gohan looks at Goten with a stern face, asking why did he do that!? Goten shuts his mouth with his hands, saying he's sorry! Videl explains she understands, that his dad moved out a while ago and sent a message he's coming back, right? Gohan reluctantly agrees quickly with her, making Videl say that these two have lots of complaints with their dad. Videl then shows her fist, saying to forget about that and wants to train! Videl, after only ten days, learns to fly freely, so now, Gohan and Goten may start real training! Goten and Gohan train as Super Saiyans, going on with kicks and punches, training until the day Goku comes back...
