Dragonball Z Character Diaries: Piccolo's
Diary
I know I don't usually write things in
here, but I have a feeling that my next few capers are going to be
epic chronicles which should somehow be passed down the generations,
and this is probably the best way.
I made first contact with an alien who
turned out to be Goku's brother, he seemed to be just as evil as I,
but his power is too immense for him to even be real! It was about
twice mine and Goku's combined! Even one of my most powerful attacks
only phased this monster, who towered over us with his muscular
physique. He was about to kill me when he sensed Goku and flew off. I
was curious at what the big deal about that idiot was, so I followed
him as fast I could. Unfortunately my speed was far inferior to his,
and I arrived too late to find out what he wanted with Goku. All I
know is that my arch-rival was about to take off to fight this guy
elsewhere, but I stopped him, knowing how powerful his brother was. We
agreed to team up, and originally I only did it so that I could get
the guy...I think his name was Raditz, out of the picture, and
hopefully finish Goku off too. It didn't go according to plan though.
We reached Goku's brother, and I felt
what fear was like for the first time in my life. This guy was as calm
as Goku during one of his run-of-the-mill tournament fights against
weaker opposition. He considered me to be almost insignificant,
choosing to mainly focus on Goku. I don't remember much of the fight,
only that we had a distinct disadvantage all the way through until
Goku's son - Gohan burst out of his prison of Raditz's pod and
attacked, saving his dad. This is what ultimately led to his demise,
as he injured his ribs badly from the attack. Gohan seemed to be
unaware of what had happened, but for a brief moment his power was
even higher than mine! He somehow lost it all soon after though, with
Raditz easily taking him out of commission.
Our fight dragged on a bit, and I lost
my arm to that bastard. Even Goku's full power KameHameHa didn't
affect him, which made me have to use my ultimate attack. First time
it had failed, but second time I charged it up for a while. During
this time that idiot decided to capitalize on our one-man team,
destroying Goku, leaving me incapable of helping as I was charging up
the attack. I probably wouldn't have assisted Son anyway, as he had
foiled my plans to take over the world. Finally my attack was ready,
but he advanced towards me when I wanted to throw it, and I knew he'd
dodge it, so I made it even more powerful, allowing Goku a chance to
grab his brother in a full nelson, and render him vulnerable. The
injury Raditz sustained at the hands of Gohan was too severe for him
to break out of Sons grip. He screamed at me to attack, so I let rip,
having to kill Goku too. At first I didn't particularly care, but
after I contemplated the sacrifice, I decided that it'd be only fair
if I allowed the other Earthlings to wish him back, after all,
everyone needs a rival, and I'd have a whole year to take over the
world. I told this to Raditz to make his defeat even more bitter, but
little did I know I had just lured a pack of two of the most powerful
warriors alive. They would be on Earth in a years time, and we knew
that we had to prepare thanks to Raditz's foolishness. I had to train,
and I had to train Gohan too, his potential was limitless.
--------
I dumped Gohan in the wilderness, and
watched over him while he was forced to survive there for a while. My
training was going to be no easy stroll in the park, I had to teach
him discipline! At first I didn't want to help him out and let him
survive on his own, but after the events of our fight with Raditz were
replayed through my mind, and I recalled Goku's noble sacrifice, I
knew that I couldn't hate such a brave man, or anyone associated with
him. My previous evil heart was cracked and destroyed by his act of
bravery and courage, and I will now uphold peace for the Earth, just
for the time being. I have been feeding Gohan occasionally, just to
make sure he stays alive long enough to fight the Saiyans.
--------
The kids strength has
dramatically increased, and is approaching the standard of some of the
Earth's more powerful warriors. He has come a long way as of late, and
he has been able to survive by himself letting me train. I have been
working hard and intensively, mainly meditating, and it has worked
excellently. I am infinitely stronger, and feel ready to destroy those
Saiyan scum. Hopefully Goku will be a big ally too.
--------
Gohan started his real
training recently, and I have been working him very hard. We have been
sparring, and I haven't pulled any punches, having to teach him what
it'll be like on the battlefield. It is working well too, as he gets
braver and stronger everyday. His character has changed a lot since he
has arrived. I don't like to admit it, but I'm becoming quite attached
to him. He's the first friend that I've ever had...
--------
The fight with the Saiyans
was earlier today, and it went excruciatingly badly. Despite
everyone's best efforts, our strength was laughable when compared to
these behemoths. Even my most powerful attacks didn't even scratch
them. Gohan was no use at first either, merely cowering behind me, not
willing to fight. I had to protect him though, if he got angry then
he'd have a chance at beating them. I tried to make him feel bad and
want to gain courage, but it just didn't work. Eventually he finally
puckered up some bravery and threatened the big guy...Nappa his name
was I think. Gohan attacked full force but it didn't do anything, and
it was even stronger than my beams! I knew that this kid couldn't die,
besides, he was my friend, which is why I did what I did. Nappa threw
an incredible beam at the kid, and I was forced to dive in the way and
intercept it, which ultimately led to my demise, as I was forced to
watch the battle from the heavens. Gohan did well after I went, and
I'm extremely proud.
I am now venturing through
Snake Way with Tien, Yamcha and Chao-zu, the other casualties from the
battle. I'm glad that Krillen, Goku, and Gohan all survived the
ordeal. Hopefully I can catch up with Son in terms of power, he has
surpassed me by a longer way in the year that he has been up here,
maybe I can catch up by training in the same way as him. I will keep
my dignity whilst doing it though.
