Summary:
Bad Day at Turtle Rock
Kamesennin with his pupils over a gorge, telling them that a delicious meal
awaits in side, as well as the real training will begin tomorrow. However, there
will be one more test. Goku asks if they're going to run again, letting
Kamesennin explain that it will be a foot race, but will be something more. He
picks up a rock and writes the symbol for Turtle in Kanji on a rock. Goku asks
what he's going to do with it, until Kamesennin throws it over the cliff.
Krillin asks if the training is to see how far they can throw rocks, while Goku
also is puzzled over this weird training. Kamesennin explains that it's not a
rock throwing test, but a rock finding test. They then figure out, that the rock
he just threw, will need to be found now. Kamesennin explains that this will
require lots of mental discipline, as well as plenty of stamina. He tells them,
that the winner will be whoever finds and retrieves the rock first, and the
prize is dinner. He then goes on to say that if it isn't found in thirty
minutes, no one will eat. Goku and Krillin both rush to the end of the cliff,
just to see how far down it is. Krillin suggests going around, since there isn't
a ladder, but Goku just jumps right down. Krillin screams out that he'll die,
but Goku just keeps on going (like he has a choice), explaining he used to do
this in the mountains. He grabs onto a branch, and with his weight, makes it
snap, letting him all again, hitting his head. He runs off, thinking about
dinner, while Krillin still is trying to find a way to get down.
He then thinks of a plan, knowing that no one can find that rock in thirty
minutes, so he goes off searching. Goku runs about a bit more, until Krillin
spots a good replica of the rock Kamesennin threw and runs to a house, asking if
he can borrow a permanent marker. He writes the Kame symbol and thanks the lady.
Goku starts sniffing his way to the rock, knowing he's getting closer by the old
man's scent. Krillin comes to his house, smiling evilly, making all kinds of
huff and puff noises when he sees Kamesennin, telling him he's found it.
Kamesennin looks at it and throws it right back, telling Krillin he can read his
hand writing. Krillin searches around in the jungle, until he's attacked by a
tiger. He jumps up and knocks it out, walking around a bit more, seeing a huge
dinosaur walk by. He then hears Goku yell out that he's found the rock, and runs
to the voice. Goku stands proudly with the rock, when Krillin comes by, telling
him that he found it by the old man's scent. Krillin tells him he doesn't
believe him and wants to see it.
Goku shows him, until Krillin snatches it and runs away. Goku runs behind him,
telling him that that wasn't fair, until they go across a bridge, and Krillin
cuts off the ropes on the other side. He runs faster, until Goku suddenly
catches up behind him again! Krillin turns around, and tells him if he really
wants it, he'll have to fight. Krillin jumps in the air and gives a kick, but
Goku retaliates, until they both just go wild, and then makes Goku the victor.
Goku asks for the rock back, while Krillin tells him he'll have to know who
trained him. Krillin then throws the rock off, making Goku run after it. Krillin
then pulls out the real rock, smiling to know that Goku will be late for dinner.
Krillin comes back, to get his blessings by Kamesennin, making Krillin start to
kiss up. Later, everyone starts eating happily, with rice and fish, while Goku
stands in the corner, hungry and alone.
