Dragonball Episode 97: The Final Match!  Who is the Best in the World?

It is morning once again. At the Papaya Hospital, Yamcha is in bed, listening to the Tenkaichi Budokai over the radio. The Final Match will be fought soon. Yamcha is determined to see this match, and leaps out the window. A nurse steps into the room, only to find no one there. 

Meanwhile, at the hotel, KameSennin excitedly watches some aerobics women on TV. Umigame, "Act your age, master.". KameSennin, "Be quiet! I'm watching this so I can uh..develop a new technique!".. Goku, "Always on the ball, old man!". Kuririn points out the window at the countless cars arriving at the tournament to see the Final Match. Bulma and Lunch (good form) step in, giving Goku his freshly washed gi. Bulma asks where Oolong is, and Kuririn tells her that he went to get good seats since Lunch transformed. Lunch becomes confused, and Bulma giggles.

At the Tenkaichi Budokai, Oolong has turned into a demon, and keeps the crowd away from the good seats, while threatening them. A little boy rushes in for a seat, but cries when Oolong threatens him. Oolong nervously lets him sit nearby. A bigger demon steps in for a seat, scaring Oolong. The demon reverts to its true form, Puar, who laughs at Oolong. Oolong also returns to normal. Yamcha steps in on crutches, telling them that they are very unreliable seat savers. Puar and Oolong are concerned, asking why he is here. Yamcha, "I couldn't just stay over at that hospital while the Final Match goes on.". They all look forward to the Final Match.

In another hotel room, Tenshinhan meditates, remembering when Jackie Chun told him that he didn't have to be evil, and could take the path of light instead. Tenshinhan shakes this out of his mind, and decides that he must focus on the opponent, Goku. Outside Tenshinhan's room, TsuruSennin sits at a table with Chaozu, wondering what Tenshinhan is doing. Chaozu, "He's never wanted to be alone like this before!". TsuruSennin guesses he must be nervous about the Final Match. Chaozu realizes it is almost time for the match, and steps into Tenshinhan's room to get him. He is surprised to see waves of ki emitting from Tenshinhan as he meditates. Tenshinhan floats out the door, ready to go.

Back at the other hotel room, Goku puts on his gi, also ready to go. Bulma wishes him luck. A fly buzzes past Lunch's nose, causing her to sneeze and become evil. Bulma smacks her face in annoyance. KameSennin continues to watch the aerobics program, until Lunch bashes him over the head.

Soon, the whole crowd awaits the Final Match. Lunch is getting impatient, and KameSennin has to calm her down. He glares at TsuruSennin, across from him. TsuruSennin starts a telepathic conversation, calling him a coward for entering the tournament in disguise. KameSennin, "It was for the good of my students!". They both start insulting each other telepathically. Yamcha asks KameSennin what's wrong, but he denies it. Umigame tells KameSennin that he can go to the bathroom now if he wants, and KameSennin just tells him to shut up. In the contestant waiting room, Goku finishes warming up, and steps out in front of the crowd, standing with Tenshinhan. Kuririn watches them, seeing the flaming intensity between both opponents. He thinks to himself that the fight has already begun. The announcer tells the crowd that the Final Match will begin very soon, and he calls Tenshinhan into the ring. He tells the crowd that Tenshinhan is the #1 disciple of TsuruSennin. He broke Yamcha's leg in the quarter finals and made Jackie Chun forfeit in the semi-finals. Tenshinhan's average match length is 32.5 seconds. Goku is called into the ring, and Kuririn wishes him luck. Goku is the #1 student of KameSennin. He defeated both Panputto and Kuririn during this tournament. His average match length is 37.5 seconds. KameSennin thinks this will be a fantastic match, and Bulma wishes Goku luck. Lunch fires off her gun, yelling for Goku to kill his opponent. KameSennin scrambles out of the crowd, and leaps into the contestant waiting room for a better view. Kuririn, "You shouldn't be here, master.". KameSennin, "Just forget about it, will you?". Goku and Tenshinhan get into their fighting stances, ready to begin. KameSennin, "Watch closely, Kuririn. It may prove useful.". Kuririn agrees. Chaozu asks if Tenshinhan can win, and TsuruSennin re-assures him. TsuruSennin angrily remembers that Goku killed his brother, and there is a flashback of Goku defeating Tao Pai Pai. He thinks to himself that Goku won't stand a chance, being a student of KameSennin. The match begins. Goku immediately lunges at Tenshinhan with a punch, which is blocked. Tenshinhan kicks, but Goku leaps over it. He grabs Tenshinhan's leg with his tail, and punches him in the chin, sending him hurtling away. Tenshinhan leaps into the air, followed by Goku. Tenshinhan charges up, and fires Dodonna, blasting Goku into the ring. Tenshinhan lands, and Goku's friends are concerned. TsuruSennin, "That was a pathetic excuse for a fight!". Goku suddenly leaps out of the ground, to his friends' relief. He lunges back at Tenshinhan. He fades, and starts rushing around Tenshinhan at high speed in order to confuse him. Tenshinhan easily determines where Goku is, and bashes him across the face, sending him hurtling away in pain. He elbows the hurtling Goku into a wall, and pummels him at high speed. KameSennin, "His attacks are like that of a machine gun!". Finally, Tenshinhan hammers Goku back to the ground, and grabs him by the collar. "What would you prefer? Heaven or Hell?", he asks. The match has just begun, and things seem bad for Goku. Can he fight back?
