Chapter 4

Gohan, Tien and Yamcha are standing tall, ready to engage in combat. The wind has turned into a powerful gust, and the rain has intensified. Gohan has a look of anxiety on his face, as he awaits his destiny. Can he beat these guys? Gohan runs at the Tien clone, but gets a fist slammed into his face, sending him soaring backwards. Gohan skids a few meters along the ground, then climbs to his feet. He is cut just below the eye, and has many a hair out of place. He walks back towards dark Tien, and tries to hit him in the stomach. The evil Tien is too fast though, and easily dodges it. He uses his speed to get behind Gohan, and kick him towards the clone of Yamcha. Gohan goes straight into an energy beam, which sends him flying backwards, once again coming into contact with the Tien clones fist. He is knocked straight down to the ground, and can hardly breathe. None-the-less, he struggles up to his feet once again, breathing heavily. He is holding his arm, and he walks towards the Tien clone with a limp. Blood is gushing from his face, now that he has a cut on his lip too. Gohan is seeing double vision, and he can’t quite make out which one is the evil Tien, and which one is his imagination. Gohan raises his hands, and charges up a masenko. Instead of throwing it at one of the clones though, he runs at clone Tien, and thrusts himself into the air using the power from his energy ball. He goes over Tiens clone, taking him by surprise, and manages to punch him in the back of the head. Dark Tien jerks forward, but manages to turn round, only to see a masenko coming straight for him. He hastily holds out his hands, to block the masenko. It sends him sprawling, making a large-gutter like hole in the ground, but after he has been pushed backwards a few meters, the Tien clone pushes it away from himself, towards the ‘Z’ soldiers. They all dive out of the way, leaving the energy to explode upon hitting a tree.

Gohan is out of energy now. He is too tired out to even move. The Tien clone laughs, then splits into 4. Each one is just as intimidating as the last. All of them slowly advance on Gohan, ready to attack. “Now! Each one of those clones of me have only a quarter of the power he normally would have. We have got to attack now!” shouted Tien, as he dashed in, clobbering the middle version of his clone in the face. He then elbows the 2nd clone Tien in the face, sending him staggering back.

Gohan jumps to his feet, and throws a masenko at the Tien clone that was sent staggering back. It makes an incredible impact, and lights up the whole battle, forcing everyone to shield their eyes from the blast. One of the split Tien clones are dead now. Gohan then runs at the clone Yamcha, and starts engaging in combat with him. They both throw a number of punches, but none of them connect with their target.

Meanwhile, the three remaining Tien clones are all on the real Tien. They are pounding him to a pulp, forcing him down to the ground. All three of them pull back their hands, and form a ball of energy in them. Tien closes his eyes, ready to die, when all of the clones miss. Their energy goes flying through the air, and they fall down. Krillen, Yamcha, and even Chaozu have come and lent Tien a hand. Krillen throws a KameHameHa wave at the Tien clone that he attacked. The clone tried to block it, but he is pushed back, further and further, until Krillen quickly charges up a destructo disc, and throws it at the clone, struggling to fight the KameHameHa that was sent at him. The destructo disc bursts through the beam that the clone was trying to block, and cut his head clean off. Krillen shouts out “Yes! Another one bites the dust!” at the top of his voice.

Yamcha is taking on another one of the split Tien clones. He is battling hard, with both men struggling to get an advantage. Yamcha gets socked in the face, but blocks the clones follow through punch. Neither Yamcha nor the Tien clone can string together any attacks. Yamcha sees the real Tien climb to his feet, and give some sort of signal for him to shut his eyes. Yamcha puts his trust in Tien, and closes his eyes. He his hit in the gut for is trustfulness. The real Tien then shouts out at the top of his vice “Solar Flare!” A bright flash of light illuminates the dusty battleground, making the clone Tien temporarily blind. Yamcha opens his eyes, and sees what has happened. He quickly takes advantage of this, and starts hitting the clone with everything he has. The clone is pummeled to the ground, then finished off with a high velocity energy beam in the face.

Only one Tien clone remains now. It is battling hard against Chaozu, but from the way it is winning so easily, this one seems to be a lot stronger than all the others. Krillen runs in to help the little psychic Chaozu, but the Tien clone sees him coming, and hits him with a fist to the ribs. He then turns to Chaozu, and picks him up from the ground by his neck. He then takes a deep breath, and cranks Choazu’s neck to such an extent, that it breaks! A huge crack is heard, and Chaozu falls to the ground, not moving at all. His body slowly disappears, showing that he has been sent to the next dimension. The Tien clone smiles, and turns to Krillen. He kicks him in the face, then throws a minor, slightly mediocre energy beam at him, as if testing Krillens resilience. The real Tien hasn’t noticed that Chaozu has died yet, because he is too immersed in his battle, helping Gohan to defeat the clone of Yamcha.

Tien and Gohan give everything they can to hit the cocky Yamcha clone, but neither of them are fast enough. The Yamcha clone disappears, leaving the two ‘Z’ warriors punching at nothing but air for a few seconds. They see that Yamcha’s clone has gone, and desperately look around for a few seconds. This is when Tien notices that Chaozu is no longer in the battle. “Chaozu! Where are you Chaozu!”

“Your little clown friend was nothing. I beat him easily!” boasted the clone of Tien. The real Tien charged at his clone with his heart full of fire and rage. He punches violently at his clone, but hits nothing but thin air. Krillen is getting up now, after recovering from the blast, and he looks up to see Gohan getting nailed from behind.

“Gohan! Are you ok?!” screamed Krillen as he flew over to him. Gohan gets up, but his face is a bloody mess, and he is heavily limping now. He charges up, as does Krillen, and the two of them charge at the clone of Yamcha. They give everything they have, going for punches to the jaw of the clone, but none are on target. The clone charges up a beam of energy on his hand, and uses it to swat Krillen away. Krillen lands very heavily, but as he bounces in the air, he has his chest stamped on by the Yamcha clone. Krillens eyes are very groggy now. It is clear that he is close to death. The Yamcha clone turns to Gohan, and kicks him in the stomach, sending him staggering back, eventually landing on the floor. The clone turns to Krillen, and holds out his palm. “It’s time to put you out of your misery Earthling…” He then lets out an energy beam straight into Krillens face. Gohan looks up to see this, and gets straight back to his feet. “Krillen! Nooo!” But Krillen was already dead.

Gohan is enraged by the incident. He powers up then runs at the clone of Yamcha, catching him in the stomach with a fist. Before Yamcha is given any time to recover, Gohan starts to kick the clone in the stomach with a multitude of kicks and punches. The clone is on the defensive now, desperately trying to block some of the punches. Gohan is relentless in his attack though, and beats him near-death into a bloody pulp. Knowing that the clone would take his life if he didn’t take the clones, Gohan charges up a masenko, and blasts it straight into the Yamcha clones face, sending him into another dimension. Only the Tien clone remains in the battle.

Tien has a firm upper hand on his clone, slamming him against the ground, then running in at him, attempting to finish him off. The clone gets out of the way, making Tiens fists go straight through the ground. The clone smiles at him, and kicks him in the face, quickly following it up with an elbow. Tien shoots up into the air trying to get some space, but his clone is just too fast. He gets up level with Tien, and hits him with such force that Tien goes shooting down to Earth. Yamcha flies into the air and grabs the Tien clones hand as it tries to throw a ball of energy down on Tien. Yamcha shakes his head, then kicks the Tien clone in the face. He then follows it up with punches to the gut. The clone falls to the ground, and is pursued by Yamcha. Dark Chaozu steps in, and flies into Yamcha, knocking him off course. Yamcha hits the ground, but is relatively unscathed. He floats up into the air, as do Tien and Gohan. It is now 3-on-2 in this battle.

Yamcha recklessly dives in at clone Chaozu to get some payback. He hammers him in the face, then starts to deliver fists to the small guys stomach. Dark Chaozu manages to suspend Yamcha though, by using his psychic powers. The clone of Tien then forms a triangle with his fingers, and shoots out a triangular blast at Yamcha, who can’t move. There is a huge explosion, which is so powerful, that it knocks Gohan to he floor. Tien falls back a bit too, but lands on his feet. Yamcha’s flaming corpse falls to the ground, then slowly disappears. “How are we going to beat these guys?! They have already taken out a lot of us, he just killed Yamcha, what if they take out me and you?” Tien said in a panicky way to Gohan.

“Dad will be back soon Tien, don’t worry. He’ll help us. Until then though, we must fight with all we have!” replied Gohan courageously.

“Leave this to me. The voice is coming from behind them. Tien and Gohan jerk round to see Vegeta standing up, back to normal. “I have taken another sensu bean. There is only one left, so try not to get yourselves beaten up just yet, ok?” Gohan and Tien nod, letting Vegeta walk by. “Now, which one of you shall I kill first? You!” He points to the Tien clone, and charges in, hitting him in the gut. He then throws him down to the floor, near the feet of Gohan and Tien, who can’t believe how strong Vegeta has become. Vegeta floats down, extends his arm, opens up his palm, and with one swift blast he sends the clone of Tien to another dimension.

“You…you killed Tien! You killed my friend!” shouted the clone of Chaozu. He rushes in, but when he swipes for Vegeta, the saiyan prince has gone. Dark Chaozu desperately looks around for Vegeta, not seeing him until it was too late. Vegeta’s fist clashes with the face of the clone of Chaozu, knocking him off balance, and then a kick from Vegeta knocks the wind out of him. Chaozu falls rapidly, before Vegeta uses a final flash to blast him out of the air, and send him into another dimension. Vegeta lands, laughing menacingly.

“Is that the best you’ve got? You might as well just let me kill you now if it is! Just you and the squirt left Kakarot.”

“My name is not Kakarot” cut in Goku’s clone. “I may be a clone of him, but you will call me by my real name, given to me by the one who created me. You shall call me Kula.”

“I’ll call you whatever I want, now who’s next to die?” countered Vegeta in a patronizing tone.

“How about we have some one-on-one battles? The first one will be the little kid, against his clone. One-on-one, if anyone interferes, then I will destroy you and then your planet! Is everything clear? Good, then we will begin.

Gohan and his clone step forward, getting ready to fight. Gohan is very weak from his previous battles, but his clone is still at full power. Rain starts to pour down even faster now, as it splashes in the puddles that have been made from the explosions in the ground. Flashes of lightning occur occasionally, making Gohan very jumpy. His clone seems totally focused. Can he beat him?

Goku gets to the end of snake way, the bursts through the house of the demon god – King Yama. As he flies through the heavens, he knocks many spirits out of the way with the gust from the pure speed that he is flying at. Goku shoots through the cloud, back into the physical plain of Earth. He dives down, with his altitude getting lower and lower until he is only a few meters away from the ground. He flies cross the sea, spreading the waves from the blast of his speed, before getting to Karin's tower. He flies up the column at an incredible speed, coming to an instant halt at the top. Karin throws him a small pouch and Goku catches it. “Thanks Karin! I’m sure that there’ll be plenty of people needing these!”  Goku said before diving off the column and resuming his flight. He stops to sense for powers, then picks them up, and flies right over to the battle. He gets there in about 30 seconds because of is new, improved speed. ‘Hang on Gohan’ Goku thinks. “I can sense that your power is very low, I’ll soon be there to help you. But what has happened to the others. Surely there should be more powers that that!’” Goku thought out loud. He gets to the woods, and comes to a halt in the clearing. He floats down to see Gohan getting kicked from post to pillar by his clone. “Gohan! Are you ok? Don’t worry, I’m coming to save you know..”

“Kakarot, no!” shouted Vegeta. “If you interfere, your clone will destroy the Earth!”

“But what about Gohan?! He can’t beat that guy!” argued Goku. “I have to save him!”

“Kakarot, you mustn’t! I have seen what your son can do when he gets mad! We have to make him angry, then he’ll be capable of massive power bursts.”

“Yes Vegeta, but how are we going to do that? Even if Gohan does get mad, we can’t be sure that he’ll be able to beat that clone!” said Goku, starting to get worried. “I’m going to help Gohan! Vegeta, you distract my clone for as long as you can, I’ll get rid of Gohan's clone nice and fast.”

“Ok Kakarot, but we’ll need all the help we can get to beat that guy. I can sense his power level as being very high!”

“Vegeta, don’t worry, yours is a lot higher than it was at the start of the battle. You will be able to combat him for a while, then when I am done, I’ll help you. Don’t worry, we can finish this guy off if we fight together! Now lets do it!”

The two warriors dash off in their respective directions, and go into battle……

What will happen in the fight? Can Vegeta hold off Kula for long enough? Is Goku strong enough to defeat his clone? Will Vegeta be able to realize is dream of becoming a super saiyan? All will be revealed.
