Dragonball Z Episode 6: Even King Yama is
Surprised! The Fight Continues in the Next World
(original, Japanese episode)
Everyone is still in disbelief about
the disappearance of Goku. Bulma has Krillin take the scouter off of
Raditz so she can fix it and use it to find Yamcha and Tien. They
decide to return to Kame House. Piccolo has a different idea. Piccolo
looks like he is powering up again, but he regenerates his left arm
instead. He says that he wants to train Gohan, and even though Krillin
and Roshi disagree, he takes Gohan anyway so he can train him for the
fight against the Saiya-jins. We then see the deceases Goku at the
Earth’s Check-In station for souls. He looks just the same but has a
halo over his head. Kami is trying to convince King Yama to allow Goku
to seek training with King Kai. Goku asks if Raditz had come through
here. Yama says he condemned him to hell, but Raditz tried to rebel.
Yama easily controlled him. This surprises Goku and he wants to train
with Yama, but Kami says King Kai is much stronger than Yama. This
upsets Yama and threatens to send Kami to hell when he dies. Yama
allows Goku to seek training by going to Snake Way, however, he warns
him not to fall off because he will fall into hell. Goku is then
escorted to the head of Snake Way. Back in the airplane, Krillin is
still in mourning about Goku. Roshi decides that Krillin should tell
Chi-Chi about Goku’s death and Piccolo taking Gohan. Krillin really
doesn’t want to in fear of the wrath of Chi-Chi. Goku arrives at the
head of Snake Way. The path looks extremely long, about one million
kilometers! The only person who has made it to Kai’s in the past 100
million years is Yama. Goku is up for the task. He leaves a message to
tell Roshi not to bring him back to life for a year. He then begins
his long journey. Piccolo has arrived to his training sight for Gohan
and dumps the boy into a pond. Gohan finally regains consciousness and
immediately begins crying. He then searches frantically for his father
while Piccolo tries to stop the boy from crying. He tells Gohan that
his father is dead. He continues by saying that men more powerful than
Raditz are on their way to Earth and Goku and he need his help. Gohan
says he knows nothing about fighting. Piccolo tells Gohan about the
power Gohan has buried inside himself. To give some proof, he grips
Gohan’s head like a baseball and hurls him toward a cliff. Gohan’s
fear turns into rage and shoots an energy blast that obliterates the
cliff. Gohan (Piccolo too) is astonished at what he has just done.
Piccolo explains that Gohan’s power is based on his emotions. He can
only sustain his rage for a short while, and it will not be enough to
defeat the Saiya-jins. Gohan’s training now begins as Goku continues
down the long path of Snake Way.
