by Tapion

Please enjoy Tapion's 2nd Interview!

NinjaMan490: Hey! This is the infamous DBZGT-Legacy staff member Tapion, here again, with part 2 of my Legacy Interviews Series. Today, I'm speaking with David "Dynasty" Livingston, former staff member of Pojo! Hi, Dave!

Dclbone1: Hey

NinjaMan490: Why don't you give the fans a list of all the sites you work(ed) for? I know it's a lot, but I can't remember them all!!

Dclbone1: Well... I worked for Pojo and SzR (when brandon owned it) for relatively short periods of time. We split due to different ways of thinking basically. Cool guys. I am an honorary staff member and used to be cowebmaster at

Dclbone1: http://amarsdbzn.com ... I owned and worked at dbz.SHOCK, Elemental-Anime, and Trunks PPF for long periods of time

NinjaMan490: Cool.

NinjaMan490: What sites do you admire/use? (Like for news and info sources.)

Dclbone1: well. the old sites were Planet Namek and DBZ Uncensored. For news I go to DBGTN, Kiji Anime, Toonami Info Link, and Legacy (I provide source links, so it's all good)

Dclbone1: Daizex and Pojo are good too

NinjaMan490: All great sites.

NinjaMan490: When and how did you get into the business of the anime-web community?

Dclbone1: Well, the fall of 1998 was when I started

Dclbone1: I never got serious until late 2000

NinjaMan490: Dave, what was your first website?

Dclbone1: It was called Otaku Oasis. Graphics were horrible... grammar was even worse

Dclbone1: Man, I was so 12 years old back then

Dclbone1: ... literally

NinjaMan490: Haha...yeah.

Dclbone1: Those were the days though

Dclbone1: I learned HTML by studying the source codes of other sites

NinjaMan490: True dat.

Dclbone1: so many wasted hours in my basement

NinjaMan490: LOL

NinjaMan490: Do you favor variety anime websites, or just websites that are centered around one anime?

Dclbone1: Well, there are pro's and con's in both.

NinjaMan490: Yes.

Dclbone1: If you're going to focus on one, you better go in depth

Dclbone1: if not, it's just a waste of time in my opinion

NinjaMan490: I see.

NinjaMan490: What's your favorite genre of anime? (i.e. Like action, comedy, fighting, romance…)

Dclbone1: Well... I'm not too into the romance in an anime (Usually just turns into hentai, heh). Fighting is sweet if it's accurate (I'm into martial arts and fighting very much). I just need a good story line basically. Comedy will keep me

Dclbone1: watching it.

Dclbone1: I like a mix of action, comedy, and fighting

NinjaMan490: Are you a martial artist yourself, Dave?

 Dclbone1: Yessir

Dclbone1: I started in 1991

NinjaMan490: What art do you practice?

Dclbone1: well... I started with American Kenpo

Dclbone1: in recent years, I studied some jeet kune do, wing chun, shaolin, aikido, judo, shoringy roo, escrima, etc

Dclbone1: but, all my knowledge has become one philosiphy

Dclbone1: it's quite similar to jeet kune do philosiphy but applies more or less directly to me

NinjaMan490: Jeet Kune Do, the art of Bruce Lee

Dclbone1: yessir

Dclbone1: I would argue that he would be the greatest martial artist and fighter EVER

NinjaMan490: What are your favorite animes?

Dclbone1: Well. The coolest is Rurouni Kenshin. Very very cool weaponplay involved. For some reason, I like cowboy bebop just a little bit more sometimes. It's between those two

NinjaMan490: Yeah, both realistic animes.

NinjaMan490: ...somewhat.

Dclbone1: bebop isn't too accurate

Dclbone1: but it is very very good

Dclbone1: great dub, great animations, great story, great sound, GREAT MUSIC! Yoko Kanno is the best
Dclbone1: Sometimes I watch Cowboy Bebop just to hear the music written by Yoko Kanno

NinjaMan490: You know, a lot of the Kenshin series is based on true events and people.

Dclbone1: Some of it

Dclbone1: you know Sanouske's big sword?

Dclbone1: the Zanbato

Dclbone1: there were swords like that

Dclbone1: and there were and still are reversed blade swords (I've been looking for one. if anybody could hook me up, I'm willing to pay)

NinjaMan490: Cool.

NinjaMan490: Do you like anime movies?

Dclbone1: Yeah. I love Akira, Ghost In the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Princess Mononoke, Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade, Metropolis, etc... all the good ones

Dclbone1: In anime, I'll watch just about anything and everything that's good

NinjaMan490: Good philosophy!

NinjaMan490: Do you prefer dubs or the original Japanese version?

Dclbone1: Well. I wrote an editorial at http://amarsdbzn.com (Go to the editorials index) regarding that matter. I'm online friends with some voice actors, so I have to give them respect. They work hard, so give em a break. I like the dub.

 NinjaMan490: My thoughts excatly.

NinjaMan490: And they're getting rich off of it, so they must be doing something right.

Dclbone1: Correct

NinjaMan490: So, do you enjoy newer anime, or old school stuff?

Dclbone1: as long as it's good, I could care less if it's new or old

NinjaMan490: Are you a big fan of manga, Dave?

Dclbone1: I like it, but don't have the oppurtunity to read as much of it as I'd like

NinjaMan490: Do you read manga and anime magazines? (Like Animerica or Shonen Jump?)

Dclbone1: I've read a couple issues of Shonen Jump

NinjaMan490: I see, do you collect trading cards, like Yu-Gi-Oh or DBZ?

Dclbone1: I was big into pokemon in its first few months in america. I was into DBZ's CCG up until the cell games saga because there was almost nobody around to play against. I played Yu-Gi-Oh!, but that got really boring after goin 112-1.

NinjaMan490: Ah.

NinjaMan490: Besides anime, what are your hobbies?

Dclbone1: Martial arts, websites, working out, rapping, writing music, writing poetry, playing drums, and playing piano

NinjaMan490: Wow, are you a movie fan? (Like non-Japanese.)

Dclbone1: of course

Dclbone1: Comedy is always a good thing

NinjaMan490: What are your favorite FTP programs?

Dclbone1: FTP is a burden to us all... lol... I just use cute ftp if I have to. I'm lazy, so I just email my stuff to a staff member to upload since my computer won't establish a connection with the servers

NinjaMan490: Same here. I just usually send my stuff to the Webmaster, Kevin.

NinjaMan490: Or Tennis_man45.

Dclbone1: Those two're pretty cool, except tennis_man, he's lame... kevin is too (I'm just kidding you guys. You guys are awesome)

NinjaMan490: Haha...

NinjaMan490: What are your web-plans for the future, Dave?

Dclbone1: Well, I'm working on releasing two websites soon. elemental.SHOCK and Xtreme-gods.com. I just wanna hold strong.

NinjaMan490: Cool, cool.

NinjaMan490: What advice would you give to anxious newbies wanting to pursue a "career" in anime web mastering?

Dclbone1: Well. Make friends. Most will eventually be able to help you sometime. Be yourself, have fun, don't steal/cheat/hack. Don't fuss over everything, it'll usually work out.

NinjaMan490: Good advice, Dave.

NinjaMan490: Anything else you'd like to say before I cut you off (LOL, just kidding about the cut you off part…hehe.)

Dclbone1: Drugs are bad, mkay? Visit http://amarsdbzn.com ... lata minna!

NinjaMan490: Peace, player!

NinjaMan490: Well, that's just about it for this interview! It was a real joy getting to talk to you this afternoon! THANKS!!! Check back soon, as I track down some VA’s!!!
