Chapter 5

The sky is misty, filled with drizzle that soars down towards the ground. A violent wind rages past the warriors, wafting their hair into the air. The rain begins to calm down, and the sun can be vaguely seen behind a lot of dull grey cloud. Gohan is fighting with all he has against his clone, but the clone is getting the better of him, managing to pummel him backwards, eventually knocking him through the air, the disappearing. The Gohan clone reappears standing just above Gohan as he soars through the air, with his eyes shut., awaiting the inevitable collision between him, the clones fist, and then the ground. As Gohan is shooting through the air like a bullet from a pistol, he shouts out “Daddy!” The clone didn’t come and nail him down to the floor. Gohan recovered, and managed to float into the air, trying to scout out his opponent. He finally sees him in a position that he wasn’t expecting. The clone was on the floor, having occasional spasms, but generally not able to move. A shout is heard from behind Gohan, on the ground. “KAME……..HAME…….HA!” A burst of energy shoots through the air, and makes contact with the clone, causing an almighty explosion. Gohan turns round, and he sees none other than Goku with a smile on his face.

“Are you ok Gohan?” questioned Goku.

“Yeah, thanks for helping me out.” replied Gohan.

“Think nothing of it. Now we both have to go help Vegeta fight the final clone, the clone of me – Kula.”

“You got it dad. I’m up for it.” said Gohan anxiously, and nervously.

The father and son duo fly in towards Vegeta and Kula. The battle has not yet started between them, and they are both circling each other, waiting for one to make a mistake and slip. They taunt each other with insults, and gestures to attack. Vegeta is the one who makes the first move by powering up to full, then charging at Kula, with his fists flying. With incredible speed, and somewhat impressive accuracy, Vegeta throws numerous energy balls at the Goku clone. Each one makes a bigger explosion than the last, with a cloud of smoke increasing in size with every explosion. Vegeta charges up the last one, and throws it down with a huge grunt. The explosion made makes the whole team absolutely awe-stricken. A mushroom cloud as big as a block of flats appears. Vegeta is panting heavily. A smile comes across his face.

“I don’t know why you were so worried Kakarot.”

 Goku isn’t as confident though, and starts trying to sense the power. He picks up on something behind him, and sees Kula with his arms folded, smiling boastingly. Goku can’t believe it, neither can Vegeta or Gohan.

“We all need to attack him at the same time. Lets go!” ordered Goku.

The other warriors nodded, and charged in at Kula. They throw punches, and kicks, but Kula is too fast, and dodges them all. Goku is shouting and the speed of his punches are about that of the speed of light. Kula is moving so fast, that you can’t even see his head budge an inch. Goku can’t believe it, as Kula pushes everyone back with a gust of wind from the palm of his hand.

“This fight is over! Now it’s my turn!” threatened Kula as he charged in, and slammed his fist into Gohan’s jaw, sending him crashing to the floor. Goku flips upon seeing this, and flies in at Kula with his fists punching in all directions. Vegeta joins in, but is only kicked in the face, sending him down to the ground. Goku and Kula battle on, but this time Kula is showing a great deal of offense, but still unable to connect any blows with Goku.

“What’s wrong Kula? You seem surprised that I can anticipate all your moves! You are a clone of me remember! You don’t stand a chance, I am giving you the chance to walk free right now” stated Goku, still attacking.

“Ok, please, let me go” begged Kula.

Goku stopped his punching, but gets a chop across his neck for being so trusting. Kula then proceeds to kick him in the stomach, and hammer him down to the ground, followed up by a stamp to Goku’s chest.

“Trusting fool! I can’t believe he fell for that!” laughed Kula.

Gohan sees his dad on the floor and runs over to him. Goku is cut badly, and struggling to get up. He clambers to his feet, but can’t really see straight. He makes a dazed walk towards the downed Piccolo, and collapses next to him. Gohan goes mad, and charges at Kula, catching him off guard with a drilling punch to the gut. He then kicked him in the face, and powered up a masenko as Kula shot through the air. HE threw it just as Kula recovered, but it still made contact none-the-less. Kula went rocketing down to earth, making a huge crater upon his landing.

Goku jumps up onto his feet, as does Piccolo. They have both taken a sensu bean to get them back to full health. They fly towards the rest to help out in the battle. Tien and Yamcha float into the air too, to give a bit of assistance. Kula smiles at this, and charges up a ball of energy, which looks like it is going to head for Gohan. Instead, Kula jerks round, and throws it at Tien, making a gigantic explosion of epic proportions. When the smoke clears, we see that Tien is no longer on this physical plain. Yamcha runs in at Kula, angered by the death of Tien, but he can’t even touch him. Kula hammers his fist down hard on Yamcha’s head, then gives off a blast sending him into another dimension. Kula begins to laugh hysterically. 

“Wow, two in a minute! I must say, that is pretty impressive even for me!” said Kula as he continues to laugh. “You broke the rules Goku, now you will have to watch the rest die, before I kill you!”

“Not if I kill you first!” roared Goku, as he charged in, and knocked Kula off balance with a well-aimed fist. He charges up a KameHameHa, but instead of throwing it, he puts his forefingers on his head, and teleports behind him. Kula is bemused. Goku appears behind him, and throws the KameHameHa right into him, sending him crashing to the ground, once again making a massive crater. Goku is panting hard, with his arms draped down by his side. He has a slight smile on his face, thinking that perhaps the fight is over. The smoke starts to clear, and Kula is still down on the floor, in the middle of the crater. Goku starts to laugh, and Gohan begins to dance around. Vegeta on the over hand expected the worst. Goku looks over to Gohan and smiles. From out of the crater bursts Kula though, knocking Goku into a summersault with a very hard uppercut. Spit flies from Goku’s mouth, and then Kula begins to fire in everything he has with rights and left, and kicks to the face. Goku can’t recover from the initial shock, and struggles to block any of the shocks. Kula gets in a vicious punch to Goku’s gut, sending the saiyan down to the ground, in absolute agony. Kula laughs hysterically, but he is aware that it’s not over. Goku climbs to his feet, and wipes some of the blood away from his mouth.

Vegeta steps in, not allowing Goku to fight any further. “stay back Kakarot. You’re too badly hurt to fight on. Let me handle this.” Goku tries to protest, but Vegeta is stubborn as always, and continue to walk towards Kula. He floats up to the air, the two prepare to fight. The fire in Vegeta’s eyes are flames of fury. He has never looked like this before. It looks as if he is truly confident that he can become the victor of this fight. “You’re far too weak to beat me!” taunted Kula.

“We’ll see” replied Vegeta is his usual, cocky manor. He charges up to full power, moving half of the landscape whilst doing it, and then dashes towards Kula. He swings for his face, but misses, then tries to follow through with a kick to the gut. Kula just catches Vegeta’s leg though, and starts to crush it. Vegeta lets off screams of pain, as Goku holds out his hand, as if trying to comfort Vegeta. Goku tries to float up, but he falls to one knee straight away, seemingly too badly hurt to fight. Vegeta continue to scream out in pain. Gohan and Piccolo have seen enough. they fly in at Kula, and both give everything they have to knock him down. Kula dodges all the punches though, and fights back with a ki blast that goes straight through Piccolo’s stomach. The Namek finds it hard to breathe as he falls to the ground. Gohan sees Piccolo falling, and dives to get to him. Piccolo is oozing purple blood, hardly able to speak a word. He does manage but a few though. “Get…….him……..for……..me………Gohan.” Piccolo then lowers his head, and slowly starts to disappear. Gohan begins to shed tears over Piccolo’s corpse.

Gohan knows that there is nothing left he can do for his trainer, so he gets to his feet, and within a few seconds, he is up to full power. “You killed Mr.. Piccolo!” Gohan yelled as he charged in at Kula. The clone of Goku looks puzzled at how Gohan is suddenly moving so fast. He starts to destroy Kula’s gut with a series of punches, and then delivers a massive uppercut, sending him flying. Gohan holds his arms above his head, as a ball of energy begins to form in them. He shouts out “Masenko!” and throws it towards Kula, making an extreme explosion. Gohan pants heavily, after using up all that he had left inside him. The smoke begins to clear, and there we see Kula once again, breathing heavily, and covered in blood, bruises, and scratches from Gohan’s assault.

“Where did you get all that power from kid?!” questioned Kula, looking very stunned.

Gohan is calming down now, and his breathing slows. He floats down to the ground, after seeing that Kula has an advantage in the air. Kula follows him down, landing a lot harder than Gohan. Vegeta limps towards the two, and says with an enraged voice “Kula, you can’t beat me! I am the strongest fighter in the universe!” He then creates a blue aura around him which keeps on getting bigger, and bigger. He charges at Kula, and slams his fist into his face, and starts to gain a small advantage.

Meanwhile, Goku is crawling towards the pouch of sensu beans, which he must have dropped earlier. He picks it up, and with tremendous effort, starts to eat one. As soon as he swallows it, he is up onto his feet, and runs towards Vegeta to offer some assistance.

Kula blocks Goku’s initial punch, but gets caught off guard by Vegeta, and then gets his legs decapitated by a sweep kick from Goku. Kula starts to fall, losing altitude at a tremendous rate, as Vegeta fires his most powerful final flash at him, in an effort to try and stop Goku’s seemingly invincible clone. The attack explodes upon impact, and it destroys what was left of the formerly thriving wood around them. Vegeta pants hard, then turns to Goku. The two look one another in the eye for a while, then go back to the ground, where something is heard from inside all that is left of the ground below them.

The small, 5 by 5 meter square remaining, where Kula stood, has a bit of rubble moving on top of it. A hand pops out of it, much to Vegeta’s disbelief. Then another hand. And then a whole body. Kula emerges, hardly able to float any more, but he gets to an equal level with the two saiyans none-the-less. He has his head bowed in shame. “Why…why can’t I beat you two low classed fighters? There is nothing less for me to do, other than use the only trick remaining.”

Vegeta and Goku look on unknowingly. Kula gives off a smile, then lets Goku and Vegeta comes towards him. He does a bicycle kick, connecting with them both, but only momentarily phasing them. He then holds out his palm, and a gust of wind shoots the two saiyan warriors back. Kula extends his hand, and then raises a finger. On it, he forms a small ball, which slowly grows in size. It gets bigger, and bigger. By now, it is the size of a car. The ball of energy continue to get larger until it is as big as King Kai’s planet. “See if you survive against my death ball, which is twice as powerful as Freeza’s!” Laughing manically, Kula launches the ball at the saiyans.

“We’ve got to block it Vegeta!” yelled Goku. “Otherwise the whole planet will be toast!”

“For once I agree with you Kakarot,” responds Vegeta. “Brace yourself, here it comes!”

The ball gets to the saiyans, and they hold out their hands. IT pushes them back at a rapid rate. Goku’s hair turns a golden yellow, as too does his eyebrows. A swirling, mysterious energy surge forms around him. Vegeta looks at Goku in a very angry way. “Why didn’t you do that earlier Kakarot!” he bellowed.

“I couldn’t! I can only turn super-saiyan when I’m angry!” replied Goku.

“Damnit! This energy is too strong! We can’t stop it!” Vegeta yelled, starting to fear the worst.

Kula is mocking the saiyans, and annoying them greatly. They try their best to hold it off, but it continues to penetrate their defenses.

“That’s it! I am not going to take any more from this punk! Come on Kakarot, conjure up everything you’ve got! We can’t let this freak beat us! I will not let a fighter like him beat us!”

Vegeta has gone bright red with rage. Goku has a look of effort on his face, as does Vegeta. The ball starts to move slower, but it still advances on the earth. Vegeta lets out a cry, and then is surrounded by a dark mist. It glows brightly, as Vegeta lets go of the ball of energy. He is bemused by what is going on. He checks his hands, and they are trembling. Goku is having a hard time keeping the ball back by himself, but he still manages to hold it off, albeit, not very well. Goku falls into the sea, with the ball, as Vegeta continues to float, confused of what is happening to him. His hair jerks up in a neat style, with it all standing on end. His face intensifies, and his muscles bulge. Vegeta’s eyebrows turn a deep, golden yellow colour, and then his hair does. Realizing what happens, Vegeta shoots into the sea, where Goku is, and gets behind the energy. He pushes against it with all his might, helping him and Goku to stop it dead. Goku charges up a KameHameHa as Vegeta struggles to hold the huge energy at bay, then launches it, making the death ball go straight back at Kula. He has a look of exasperated fear on his face as his own death ball comes back at him. He lets out a loud cry, then tries to fly away. The ball gains on him with rapid motion, before clipping his heals, and slowly covering him. It gets to his waist before he realizes that he has to do something fast. He lets out a shout at the top of his voice. “Kai-o-Kan attack!” He then flies at an incredible speed, managing to out run the death ball, and get to a safe distance from it. His legs have been signed badly, and he can hardly breathe. Goku and Vegeta float up from the sea bed, both in super saiyan form, with huge smiles on their faces. Kula is looking insanely angry, and in great pain. His eyes fire up with hatred, and he starts to charge up. Goku and Vegeta smile in a very cocky way. They get to their fighting pose, and await the attack……..    

Now that Vegeta has turned super-saiyan, can he and Goku become victorious over Kula? Is Goku’s new skill going to be handy against Kula? All will be revealed.
