For as long as I can remember, [late 80's], the name "Nintendo" has been almost synonymous with big-name animated franchises. Not many people remember the "Legend of Zelda", "Super Mario", and "Pacman" cartoons, but I do. And because Nintendo had these franchises, it is such a popular company today. Not much has been shown accept for the below, early version concept photos. Note: The concept photos below are just that, they have not been assigned to a particular system yet, so will be displayed under all of the next-gen previews until a system is announced. Getting back on track, Infogrames being as ambitious as it is, has put their developers to work full-speed ahead on various projects.
As far as Nintendo goes, DBZ has a full schedule. Paul Rinde the Senior Vice Pres. of Infogrames released the following information, and it is all that has been officially released to my knowledge this far:
According to Rinde, Infogrames' two-to-three year vision consists of two Game Boy Advance Games [Legacy of Goku and CCG]. The goal is to create a trilogy with The Legend of Goku beign the first installment. But the bolder picture has the trilogy literally linking to a GameCube Dragonball Z game thats planned release is in 2003. "The GameCube game will be a much bigger, enriched product than any of the Game Boy Advance series, and it will also enhance the gameplay of the GBA Games." says Rinde. I guessing that the two will hook up some how, similar to the way the Game Boy Color Pokemon games hooked up to the Pokemon Stadium game for the N64. The GameCube game will be an action/adventure/RPG with some fighting elements--similar to The Legacy of Goku. This sounds like it will have gameplay similar to the Zelda games on the Game Boy Color or possibly Grandia II.
It will be a one-player title, but it will also enable you to play as over 30 of your favorite Dragonball Z characters. The storyline, however, is still in early stages--a developer hasn't even been picked--but the goal is for the storyline to connect to the GBA series that will stem from the 1st title "Legacy of Goku." Moreover, you'll be able to transfer powerups, characters, and other stuff between the two systems/games.
Rinde also stresses that transferring information from the GameCube version to the handheld version will actually enhance the gameplay of the handheld versions.
