The
day starts off at around 10 AM when I wake up and shower and then head to the
airport to pick up Sarah and Jack, arriving from Los Angeles.
This is the first time I had ever met these two in person so it was
really great to meet them. After
they arrive, we make our way back to my car and I drive over to another
terminal to pick up some more members of our group, this time a pair of sisters
named Megan and Jessie (both well known on the KyleHebert.com
message board). We all walk over
to the hotel and get checked in and then Sarah and I head back to the airport
to pick up another group member, John, from Los Angeles.
Finally, the six of us get to our room at the Hyatt hotel and await word
from Kyle Hebert on when he is arriving. He
calls me around 3 and says he has Steve and Becca (the webmasters of KyleHebert.com)
with him and is now at the hotel. We
all meet again and decide to head back to town and eat some lunch.
Everyone piles into Kyle’s and my car and we head out for Chili’s.
I enjoyed by Triple Play sampler while getting to know everyone better
(I had never seen these people before, only spoken to them online or on the
phone). The next stop was the mall
across the highway from Chili’s, and after some light shopping, we went to
Kyle’s to hang out. I had to leave rather quickly due to my championship baseball
game, and after returning victorious (that’s right, CHAMPIONS), we head back
to the hotel. Not a whole lot
happened that night, but Jack, Steve and I talked until 5:30 AM about KH.com,
Legacy, and many other topics. I
finally hit the hay, er, the hotel floor, around 6 AM.
