What If...
This section deals with all the
possibilities that could have happened in DBZ if certain events were slightly
different. Feel free to e-mail submissions for this section into Seexy.
What if Goku hadn't have
helped the turtle?
If Goku wouldn't have assisted
turtle back in Dragonball, and had instead decided to leave him just as Bulma
had suggested, then he would have never met Roshi, and would have never got his
fly nimbus cloud. This would result in him being slowly during the early stages
of DBZ, and late stages of DB, and have a harder form of transport. His chances
of being trained by Roshi would also decrease greatly, meaning he wouldn't have
been anywhere near as strong, and he wouldn't have been so motivated to train
as hard. He also wouldn't have met Krillen either, which would have led to all
kinds of bad things happening due to no one being there to save the weaker
guys.
What if Goku hadn't have
been able to hold Raditz during Piccolo's attack?
Imagine if Raditz would have
broken free of Goku's grip when Piccolo was concentrating his energy to fire it
at the evil Saiyan. Raditz would have battered Goku to the ground, then
immediately finish the Namek off before he could do anything else that could
cause trouble, such as one of his annoying energy attacks. He'd then turn to
Goku, give him one last chance to join him, then kill him upon the Saiyan
refusing, and take his son to be trained. Raditz would probably destroy the
planet too, and everyone on it. Gohan would be taught to be vicious, and would
end of being one of Frieza's evil soldiers.
What if Yamcha had
survived the Saibamen fight?
If Yamcha would have survived the
cowardly self-destruct attack by the saibamen, then he would have either been
killed by the remainder of them, or kill the remaining ones and assist the
others in fighting Nappa. He wouldn't have made much of a difference, but
enough to hold the Saiyans up for a while, and quite possibly allow Piccolo to
stay alive, because Goku would be able to get there before Nappa could kill
everyone. Yamcha would still die, undoubtably, but the more powerful fighters
would stay alive, meaning no training off King Kai, but assistance towards
Goku, and self-meditation in Piccolo's case, which wouldn't be too much of a
power loss. He would also go with them to Namek and beat the Ginyu Force, and
have a good chance at beating Frieza.
What if Goku didn't go to
Namek?
If Goku hadn't have ventured to
Namek to help everyone out, then he would have never trained in the graviton
and become as powerful. He would have also been beaten by Frieza when he came
to Earth to kill the final Saiyan, after killing all resistance on Namek.
Gohan, Krillen, and Vegeta would be lucky to make it past the Ginyu Force
without Goku's intervention, and would probably die fighting them. Frieza would
find out about Goku somehow, and hunt him like a dog, quite possibly resulting
in him destroying the planet Earth.
What if Bulma was a porn
star?
Imagine if the ingenious inventor
was a porn star, that would be a tragic loss to the world. She wouldn't have as
much time to create her many wonderful inventions, and wouldn't know Goku and
company, so therefore wouldn't assist them in their quest. She would also not
have introduced Goku to many of his friends, which would mean he wouldn't be as
strong. Vegeta wouldn't know her either, which would result in there being no
Trunks, and no warning about the Androids, with everyone ultimately perishing
to them.
What if Dende wasn't
killed by Frieza?
If Dende wasn't killed at the
hands of Frieza, then he would have been able to heal Goku on the many
occasions that he was hurt, as well as attempting to heal Vegeta when Frieza
was destroying him, making both Saiyans far stronger, and in with a better
chance of winning. In fact, Goku may have become so strong after his continuous
beatings that he wouldn't have needed to go Super Saiyan, due to the fact that
he'd be able to win in his normal form. This also means that he'd probably be
able to win the fight early, and save Krillen and Piccolo from any harm.
What if Gohan and Krillen
had never saved Dende from Dodoria?
If the two young heroes wouldn't
have rescued Dende from the wrath of the bully Dodoria, then they would never
have had the kid as an ally, and would therefore never have found Guru and got
the Dragonball. Another thing is that they wouldn't have gotten the power
charge up, meaning that Gohan would have never survived the beating he took of
Racoome, and if he did, he would have been killed by Frieza, unable to hold him
off because of his limited power. Everyone would also be without a healer,
meaning that Vegeta, Krillen, Gohan, and Piccolo would have all been without a
hope, as they were rendered immobile by Frieza at least once in the fight, only
to be healed by Dende.
What if Vegeta hadn't have
killed Nappa?
If Vegeta hadn't have killed his
partner, then he would be of no use to him during the battle against Goku, but
may have been when Gohan and Krillen got involved, probably being well enough
rested to take care of them, allowing Vegeta to finish off Goku. This would
have been tragic to the history of the universe, as the two Saiyans would
continue to unite and destroy the planet Earth, and eventually conquer the
universe together, in their violent, aggressive manner, killing any benevolent
people who get in their way. They would be terrifying, and it'd all be because
Vegeta had spared his partners life.
What if Nappa had died
when Chao-zu had self-destructed?
If the big guy would have deceased
when Chao-zu used his self-destruct attack, then he would have been a laughing
stock on his home planet, losing to someone with such a comparatively puny
power level. He would also of course, be dead, meaning that the scenario would
be much like the one below: Vegeta would get angry at his friends death and
kill everyone, possibly without leaving Goku the chance to arrive to save the
world, as the Saiyan might blow up the Earth before Goku has a chance to finish
crossing Snake Way.
What if Nappa hadn't have
dodged Krillen's destructo disc?
If the huge, muscular, dim-witted
Saiyan hadn't have had Vegeta shout out to him to dodge Krillen's destructo
disc, then he would have had the top half of his head cut clean off,
incapacitating him at the least, and most probably killing him. This would mean
that Vegeta would have to step in and begin fighting, and would probably kill
everyone effortlessly, then destroy the planet before Goku arrived. Either that
or he would hold someone hostage for when Goku did arrive, then he could use
them to give himself an easy win in battle, and exploit Goku's good nature,
killing him in exchange for the hostages life.
What if Vegeta wasn't
stolen from the Saiyan King by Frieza, when he was only a small child?
Then Vegeta wouldn't have been
able to become anywhere near as strong, let alone live, as he would be crushed
with all the other Saiyans by the might of Frieza's blast that destroyed their
home planet. This would lead to no Saiyans attacking Earth, as Vegeta seemed to
be their leader, deciding on who went where. Raditz and Nappa would have to
combine, not presenting anywhere near as big a challenge to others as they did
went Vegeta was at their helm. Goku would never have received King Kai's
training, and wouldn't be strong enough to become a Super Saiyan, and Frieza
would become immortal, with no-one knowing about the Namekian Dragonballs. The
world would plunge into terror, and would slowly be destroyed by the
unstoppable, immortal being.
What if Frieza was
immortal?
If Frieza was immortal, then it
would mean impending doom for the whole of the universe. People wouldn't even
bother to rebel against him, because they would realize that chance of
defeating him would be close to impossible. People would come from miles around
to attempt to please him, begging for their planet to be spared, bring gifts.
Not even a Super Saiyan would be able to stop him, although people like Goku,
and Vegeta when his time came, would fight valiantly, and gallantly, until they
have nothing left to give. It would be a futile effort though, and the whole
universe would plunge into a collection of whole races hiding in fear, from the
wrath of the literally unstoppable Frieza.
What if Nappa was stronger
than Vegeta?
If the huge, muscular mammoth was
stronger than Vegeta, then do you think he'd let his partner do all the
fighting? I sincerely doubt it. He'd probably fight the Earth's special forces,
demolish them even easier than before, then blow up the whole planet after
toying with, then killing each and every single one of them. He probably
wouldn't wait for Goku, but instead destroy the whole planet. He isn't as
cold-hearted and ruthless as Vegeta was though, so I seriously doubt that he'd
sink so low as to kill his own partner for no reason, I'm not sure that ever
Frieza would do that! Anyway, with the planet destroyed, then Goku would be
doomed to a horrible fate. Frieza would probably be immortal too, with no one
to stop him from collecting all the Dragonballs.
What if Piccolo hadn't
have been killed against Nappa?
If he would have survived against
Nappa, then he would have escaped with Gohan and Krillen, and probably assisted
them in defeating Vegeta. In doing this, he would have missed out on the chance
to train with King Kai, and wouldn't be anywhere near as strong as he could be.
He would then venture to Namek, and meet many of his people, witnessing them
dying. He would fight against the Ginyu Force, probably surviving, but risking
the chance of becoming deceased, then in the fight against Frieza, he would
almost definitely be killed, due to him having a far lower power level then he
would have had when fighting the evil one, and not meeting Nail, making his
power level even smaller than it was in the real thing. Without Piccolo to hold
him up, Frieza would have been free to seal the fate of impending doom by
blowing Namek up, before Goku could even recover.
What if Vegeta was Killed on Earth by the
Z Warriors?
When Vegeta was fighting the Z warriors on Earth
he came to near death. Vegeta had the upper hand for most of the fight but
towards the end Vegeta was put through a lot of pain (Genki-Dama, Oozaru
falling on him). After all of this though, Vegeta was still willing to fight
until he was finally defeated. Kuririn had Yajirobe's sword and was about to
kill Vegeta until Gokou stopped him and let Vegeta retreat because Goku thought
Vegeta could change his ways. What if Kuririn hadn't listened to Gokou or Gokou
was unconscious and couldn't tell Kuririn to stop. Vegeta would have then been
dead.
Gokou, Kuririn and everyone would have still
healed at the same time and been off to Namek. Most of the events would have
been the same except more Nameks would have been left alive because Vegeta
killed a large portion of them. The Dragon Balls that Vegeta had collected
would probably result in Freeza obtaining them. Gohan obtained his one Dragon
Ball from Vegeta and with Vegeta out of the picture, Freeza would have all
seven Dragon Balls.
The Dragon Balls would be fairly useless to
Freeza because he would not know the password to use them. Namek Elder might
also have been killed by Freeza which wouldhave gotten rid of the Balls, but
Freeza was probably smarter than that. Dodoria and Zarbon would probably also
be alive. If they had some how provoked Gohan and Kuririn. They might have
beaten him, but it is irrelevant.
Kuririn and Gohan also kept a fairly low profile
so the Ginyu Force would need not be called especially now that Freeza has all
the Dragon Balls. Freeza would probably be killing off random Namek's until he
got the password. Gohan and Kuririn would probably try to stop the killing
which could easily result in Zarbon killing them both.
When Gokou reached Namek he would probably kill
Dodoria and Zarbon if he had to and try to fight Freeza. Without Gokou being
beaten by Ginyu, he would be much weaker and would not stand a chance against
Freeza. Gokou also probably would have not gone Super Saiya-jin. Regardless,
Gokou, Kuririn and Gohan would most likely all be killed by Freeza. After this
Freeza would either receive the password or not, either way, he would still
carry out his intentions one way or another.
So, in some way leaving Vegeta alive actually
saved the Earth. Even in the original storyline Vegeta saved Gohan and Kuririn
on Namek and as the series progresses, Vegeta saves more and more people (he
also kills more though). Also, Dragon Ball Z without Vegeta in it would be much
more dull because Vegeta was a really cool character. Once again, this is just
my interpretation of what would happen. The events are unknown and probably
several different versions could be created.
What if Goku hadn't
escaped Namek's blast?
Then he would have almost
certainly perished, being blown up, then finished off in space, meaning the
Earth would have a high chance of facing certain, impending doom. That said,
Vegeta would have stayed on the planet Earth, meaning that he'd be able to take
out all the minor enemies, such as Garlic JR., almost immediately, and he'd be
the strongest man in the universe. Whilst he'd relish this, he'd struggle to
become a Super Saiyan, not really having anything to motivate him into becoming
one. Another thing worthy of note is the fact that Earth would have suffered
the same fate against the androids as it did in Future Trunks' timeline, with
no Goku present to assist them in any way.
What if there weren't any
such things as saiyans?
If there were no saiyans, then
Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, Goten and of course, Goku wouldn't be alive today. The
Earth would have to be saved by people like Krillen, Yamcha and Tien, without
any really strong fighters. If the saiyans were born in another body, then they
wouldn't be anywhere near as strong as they would be if they were saiyans, due
to not getting a huge power increase after recovering from severe wounds.
Frieza would have conquered the whole world by himself, with no help from his
planetary conquest forces (The saiyans) and it would be a lot longer before he
came to Earth, where a new breed of ultra-tough humans may have been born,
although it is unlikely.
What if Goku hadn't have
bumped his head?
If Goku wouldn't have bumped his
head and lost his 'programming' when he was a baby, then the Earth would be
ruled by Frieza, and Gohan would never have been born. The whole Earth would
have been destroyed, leaving only Goku left alive, to work his evil. When
Raditz would have come down to Earth, then he would have accepted Goku, and
they would have gone away together, with the planet free to be taken by Frieza.
What if Goku was born a
girl, not a boy?
Imagine if Earth's savior would
have been a girl. The saiyans wouldn't have sent our favorite hero down to
conquer Earth. Also, there would be no Goku, or Kakarot(o), but there would be
a Kakarottina. There would be no invasion from the saiyans (Not for a while
anyway) and if they would have come, then the Earth would have been doomed.
What about Gohan? He would have failed to exist, and Krillen wouldn't be the
great fighter that he has become today. It's a pretty good job that Goku was a
boy when you come to think of it...
What if Krillen was a
Saiyan?
If Krillen was a saiyan, then he
would probably be the worlds most powerful fighter, due to the injuries that he
has a habit of suffering. He gets beat up badly every battle, and if he would
have been a saiyan, then this would have just made him stronger, and he would
have been the one to kill all the super villains. If Krillen turned super
saiyan though, you'd have to watch his eyes, as he is bald as a coot, just to
know whether he has made the transformation. This would make thousands of
Krillen fans worldwide really happy.
What if the dragon radar
would never have been created?
If there was no dragon radar, then
there would be very little chance of finding the dragonballs, meaning far less
wishes. Goku wouldn't have been resurrected after his fight with Raditz, the
saiyans would have conquered all. Frieza would have also destroyed everyone,
and everything, and they would never have been resurrected. Without any
dragonballs, then there would be less bad guys coming to Earth to try and get
them, leading up to a very boring first half of the DBZ series.
What if Goku had a sex
change before he met Chi-Chi?
If Goku had become a woman, then
he would be just as strong, but would lack any sort of respect from his fellow
warriors, and he would have never married Chi-Chi, which means that there would
be no such thing as a kid called Gohan. Many of the opponents coming to Earth
would have been destroyed, but some (Like Garlic JR and Cell) may have been
able to conquer it without the presence of the little SSJ2 to beat them.
What if Gohan wouldn't
have been present during the fight against Raditz?
If Gohan wasn't trapped up in that
little space pod in the fight against Raditz, then Goku and Piccolo would have
been demolished by the evil saiyan, and both of them will be killed, allowing
Raditz to go on to kill everyone on the whole planet, and to conquer it. Frieza
would have then sold it to some evil beings who would probably treat the Earth
terribly. What's more, if Gohan's potential wouldn't have been shown in that
fight, then Goku and Piccolo would have never trained him to become the super
warrior that he is today, meaning many of the fights would have been lost, and
Gohan would still just be a cry baby.
What if Vegeta would have
got his wish for immortality?
If Vegeta had managed to become
immortal either on Earth or on Namek, then he would have probably gone straight
to Frieza, to first kill him, then he is likely to have killed Goku, Gohan,
Krillen and the rest of the Earth's special forces. Trunks would have never
been born as there would have been no need to go to Earth and rest there, and
Vegeta would probably rule the galaxy.
What if Guldo of the Ginyu
force has a staring contest with Tien?
If the three eyed Earth man had a
staring contest with the four eyed toad, it would quite possibly be the end of
existence as we know it, as everyone would be bored to death, watching the
long, tedious battle between them. They would always have one of their eyes
open, so it would be the first one to fall asleep to be the loser.
What if Goku had died
during the crash landing on Namek?
If Goku would have died during the
landing on Namek, then the Ginyu Force would have killed Gohan, Krillen, and
Vegeta easily. Also, Frieza would have had no equal, everyone on Earth would
have been filled with grief, and there would be no one to stop the reign of
terror that Frieza would lead.
What if Frieza wasn't a
changeling?
If Frieza wasn't a changeling,
then his power would be far less radical than it was before he was defeated by
Goku. He would also have been beaten by Vegeta on Namek, because of him being
much weaker. Goku wouldn't have been so worried about facing him, and wouldn't
have trained as hard on his way. Although there seems to be very little in the
way of differences to what happens, there is one major one. There would be no
Trunks. Vegeta wouldn't have gone back to Earth with everyone, and he would
have become the supreme ruler of the world. The future would be very much like
the one in Future Trunks' timeline.
What if Frieza wouldn't
have dodged Krillen's destructo disc?
If Frieza hadn't have dodged
Krillen's destructo disc when he was in his second form, then Krillen would
have been the savior of the world, and he'd probably get a load of women lining
up for him, as well as Nameks queuing up to thank him. Goku would never have
turned super saiyan, meaning that it would be a long wait before he could
manage it, and there'd be no cyborg Frieza. Future Trunks would have been the
only super saiyan at the point of the androids arrival, and everyone would
probably be too weak to present any sort of a challenge, and everyone would be
wiped out.
What if Goku hadn't have
become a super Saiyan when he fought against Frieza?
If Goku wouldn't have been able to
go SSJ against Frieza, then he would have lost the fight, especially after
Frieza had survived his strongest attack - the galaxy spirit bomb. He would
have been beaten to a pulp, even if he had managed to make Frieza transform
into his 100% form, he would have just gotten beat up even worse than before.
What if Future Trunks
wouldn't have been born?
If there was no Future Trunks,
then there would have been no warning about the androids that would soon come
to Earth, and Vegeta wouldn't have had as much motivation to become a super
saiyan. Goku would have died from his heart disease, and the androids would
have wiped everyone out, and plunged the Earth into a state of chaos and hell.
What if Goku would have
killed Dr Gero when he had the chance?
If Goku would have killed Dr Gero
when he had the opportunity to do so, then there would be no androids to
destroy everyone, and no Cell. This would mean that there would be a lot less
deaths during this period of time, but when Majin Buu comes, he would destroy
everyone due to them not gaining the power increase that they would have
against the androids.
What if Vegeta never allowed Cell to become
"Perfect"?
This is probably one of the most talked about
events in DBz. I remember the first time I saw the episode where Super Vegeta
is fighting Imperfect Cell Stage 2. I think this must have been the first time
I actually hated Vegeta. The true Saiya-jin warrior allowed Cell to become
"Perfect" and I knew this would be nothing but trouble, and sure
enough it was.Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Vegeta had
killed Cell because he didn't care what his "Perfect Form" was like.
Here is what most likely would have happened.
Vegeta would feel invincible at this time. The
people at Kami's Lookout also would have found out that Cell would be dead
because they were watching the fight. Goku and Gohan would no longer be needed
to fight Cell. This would lead to no one seeing Trunks go Ultra Super Saiya-jin
(Ascended Saiyan) and Trunks would be the only one knowing it. Future Trunks
would have never been killed by Cell either.Future Trunks most likely would
have gone back to his time and the save the Earth just like what originally
happened.
Dende would never become "Kami" of
Earth which would result in no Dragon Balls. Mr. Satan would never become the
"Saviour of the Earth" because there would have been no Cell Games.
Android 18 would also have never been absorbed.
Now, one of two things could now happen to the
Earth. Vegeta could have gone on a killing spree, thinking he was
indestructable or he could have had a battle against Gokou to seek revenge. The
other possible scenario is that everyone lives peacefully while Vegeta remains
the strongest warrior.
When the ten years after Cell being defeated
arises there would be many changes. Goten (If he was still to be born) would
have gotten to know his father much better. Gohan would probably not be the
"Great Saiyaman" because Gokou would be around to take care of
trouble. With Gohan not having to keep his secret aliasis he wouldn't have had
to make certain deals with Videl and he wouldn't be as close with her. The
outcoem of this would probably result in Videl not being to use "Bukujitsu"
(Flying) and Gohan would not be competing in the Tenkaichi Budoukai (World
Martial Arts Tournament) unless he was convinced to for some other reason.
The Budoukai at this point would be very
confusing. Most of the results would be similar butthe strongest fighter at
this point would be unknown and Spopovitch and Yamu might have stolen energy
from another fighter.
Videl most likely would not follow everyone to
find Majin Buu because she wouldn't be very close to Gohan. How much training
everyone would have done would be unknown, but the Super Saiya-jin 2 stage
would not be of common knowledge.
Badidi's spaceship battles would probably be the
same. The energy for Majin Buu would be considerably lower and Vegeta would
probably be never possessed by Babidi. This would be because he wouldn't be as
determined to fight Gokou because he woulld think that himself was the
strongest.
Kaioshin and Gohan would have taken care of
Majin Buu's "egg" and everyone could have gotten rid of Dabura and
Babidi and the world would be safe once again.
If Vegeta was still to get possessed everything
would still be fairly close to the original version except Gokou would not have
gone to the Afterlife and Gokou may have never gone Super Saiya-jin 3.
So all in all Vegeta's one little act of
arrogance really changed a lot in the world. Of course it is uncertain what
would have happened if Vegeta had killed Cell but I did I did a pretty in-depth
look at it and I probably missed a few things but it all depends on how you
look at the situation.
