Summary:

Solve the Riddle of the Monster
The monster reached back farther with his hands cupped, ready to fire the Kamehameha. He yelled out a Kamehame, when Piccolo said that this was impossible! Finally, the creature unleashed the blast by sounding the final word, screaming Ha, firing out a huge blast at Piccolo, making Piccolo scream that it’s the real thing, terrified as the blast continued onward. The blast connected, and erupted with a roar, making smoke and fire explode outwards, as Piccolo was almost nearly caught in the blast. The monster then wrapped up Piccolo with his arms and legs, locking the Namekian from moving. Piccolo’s foe brought up his tail, screaming that he will take life! Piccolo saw the tail moving in at a quick speed, so he reacted quickly as to not get hit in the chest, and had his arm speared instead. Piccolo let out a shriek of pain, as he gasped for breath afterwards, due to his energy being stolen. The monster cursed aloud, saying he only stung him in the arm, but even so, the result shall be the same! The tail sucked more and more, as Piccolo threw his head forward, braced himself for the pain, and drove his head into the monster’s face, allowing the grip to be loosened and allow escape. When Piccolo landed, his right arm seemed very skinny and worthless, like a hanging rag. Piccolo had his other hand ready to fight, while the monster said that even though he has escaped, the arm is useless and the tables have turned! Piccolo held his arm, saying yes, the balance was off as well, and has certainly gotten harder now, so it appears victory is in your, the monster’s, favor.

The creature yelled that he, Piccolo, has realized the futility of the situation, and after absorbing more energy, perfection will soon be achieved. Piccolo was still in recovery, saying that before he is absorbed, he would like some answers to questions, like, what are you, and why can Goku and Freeza’s chi be felt from you, and even the Kamehameha! The opponent was silent, then saying all right, since he is about to steal his life, he might as well say. He first off says that his name is Cell, and is an android. He then explains that Dr. Gero’s computer made him, as Piccolo said that it’s Dr. Gero again! Cell explains that long ago, Dr. Gero started to collect genetic material from the strongest warriors, and was going to use it to create an android. But, it took too long, so he stopped, but the computer continued the work. It collected the cells of those from Son Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Nappa when you all fought on earth. It then showed pictures of Piccolo’s sacrifice for Gohan, Goku’s weak body from the aftermath of the Oozaru Vegeta, and Gohan lying on Vegeta after crushing him. Piccolo got confused, then realized that Son Goku wasn’t that strong then, so then that’s why the Kamehameha wasn’t powerful. Cell then told that they were lucky enough to get Freeza and his father’s cells as well, and Trunks’s cells would have been gathered, but there was enough Saiyan cells already. It also showed pictures of Freeza’s death by the sword and King Cold’s demise after getting blasted. Piccolo asked how were they able to collect the cells, since he didn’t seem to find anyone suspicious.

Cell wondered why Dr. Gero didn’t say, but it was because a spy robot was following them all, but was a robot-bee, so no one noticed and could gather all the samples it wanted. Cell pointed over, saying to watch closely, because even now, it is sending data to the computer, and may want a sample now! Piccolo watched closely, seeing a bee float up, and then blasting it away, cursing at it. The fly was now destroyed, as Cell said destroying it is too late, that it has already taken the necessary samples and the research has now begun, but will not perfected for another 24 years! Piccolo yelled to not be stupid since they destroyed Dr. Gero’s lab, as Cell told that the research computer was below the one thought destroyed, with Piccolo saying he understands. Piccolo then asked why did it take three years to go to that shape from an egg, with Cell saying that it takes three years for an egg to grow underground. Cell then said that now is the time for the absorption, when Piccolo spoke out one last question, of why did he come back in time?! Cell explained that the computer told him that in order to achieve a perfect form, he needed two important life essences, and the computer had chosen… number 17 and 18. Piccolo asked what, when Cell told that he started life in the future with nothing to be found, but it seems to be that in that future, Trunks somehow found a way to destroy the androids, and fortunately, Trunks still had the time machine, killed him, and went back in time to find 17 and 18.

Piccolo asked why did he chose this time, as Cell told that Trunks time machine was set for this time, so all he had to do was press a button. Piccolo was piecing it together, saying that Trunks was probably coming back in time to tell us all of his way of destroying the androids then. Cell then boasted out that the computer also told that when he achieves his perfect form, he will be the most powerful being imaginable! Piccolo asked for what reason, that why does he want absolute power? Cell asked reasons, to not ask such foolish questions, that the computer was designed to make him as strong as possible, or perhaps the Saiyan, Freeza, and Piccolo blood speaking. Piccolo bowed his head, saying he understands, then looked up and smiled, saying thanks for all the answers to the mysteries. Piccolo then took off his rotten limb, and screamed loudly, forcing another arm to replace it. Cell was shocked to see this, as Piccolo held his arm tightly, saying that he’s been given a lot more to think about now. Cell backed away, saying that you, you… you did that to make conversation! Piccolo put up his fists, saying that he will not allow any perfect form, and since you, Cell, have Namekian blood, didn’t it seem obvious to regenerate an arm?!
