Gohan receives a frightening experience, when he under the watchful eye of Piccolo in panic. (Book Eighteen . Chapter Two Hundred and Six)

Half a year later, Piccolo decided to train Gohan more strictly now. One year later, the crybaby Gohan grows up more and becomes a fighter. He then become stronger day after day. (Book Eighteen . Chapter Two Hundred and Nine/Chapter Two Hundred and Ten)

On planet Namek, Gohan meets a Namekian child named Dende. Dende assists the earthlings to gather the Dragon Balls. Bulma makes a disguise for Gohan to transform into a suit. Videl soon finds out that he is the Great Saiyaman and ants to learn his secret of flying. (Book Thirty-Six . Chapter Four Hundred and Twenty-Five/Four Hundred and Twenty-Eight)

Goku trains Gohan's daughter, Pan. She becomes very strong. (Book Forty-Two . Chapter Five Hundred and Nineteen)

Sad Destiny...

Father Goku goes to meet his friends at Kame House with Gohan. Upon meeting everyone, he receives a surprise revelation, that his older brother Radditz has come to get him.

Respect for the Master, Mr. Piccolo!

The death of Goku is a sudden shock to everyone, including Gohan. Piccolo decides to take Gohan under his wing, because Gohan has a great potential. After one year of training with Piccolo, Gohan grows from a crybaby and becomes strong against the Saiyan. Soon, the Saiyans come and attack the earth and soon the Saiyan focuses their power on Gohan. Piccolo knows that Gohan cannot defend himself, so he blocks an attack to Gohan, causing him his death. Gohan feels great remorse and goes to Namek to revive his teacher.

Father Goku Invites Himself to Go into Death!!

Training hard, Gohan achieves the level beyond Super Saiyan. After facing off against Cell, he easily wins and learns that Cell can explode himself and the earth. Goku cannot allow this and he knows Gohan cannot stop it, so he transports himself away from earth to allow Cell to explode. However, after the explosion, Cell comes back stronger, and faces off against Gohan again. In a final attack against each other, Gohan receives guidance from Goku to allow the earth to be safe from Cell.

The Fight of Buu

Gohan needs a disguise, so he gains help from Bulma to turn into the Great Saiyaman. However, after a few attempts, Videl figures out his Great Saiyaman disguise. He goes to the Tenkaichi Budoukai dressed as the hero, but soon would have to leave, because of the earth being in danger. He meets Kaioushin and after a while, Gohan goes to Kaioushin Kai, where he receives training. Old Kaioushin allows him a huge power up for him to fight, but even that doesn't work. His father finally wins and brings peace, allowing Gohan to marry Videl. Gohan then settles down and raises a family with his new wife.
