Dragonball Episode 95: A Great Fight! Goku vs Kuririn

(original, Japanese episode)

The sun is beginning to set.  Jackie Chun walks through a crowd of people.  A reporter steps up, "Mr. Chun, why did you forfeit the match?"  Jackie ignores this and notices a little girl crying.  A large man is standing on her dress, so Jackie tells him to step off.  He smiles at the girl, and she stops crying.  Kuririn, "Why did Jackie...?"  Goku, "Maybe he got hungry!"  Tenshinhan walks through a crowd, and many interviews surround him.  "MOVE!!", he yells, and they quickly clear out.  He steps up to TsuruSennin and Chaozu.  TsuruSennin, "Well done, Tenshinhan!  That KameSennin turned and ran!"  Tenshinhan tells them that he needs to rest, and walks away.  While walking, he wonders, "Why did a man so commited to his art give up?  It's not that he fears me!  He hadn't gone all out!  That confidence... where does he get it?!?  I don't understand!"  He destroys a bunch of barrels of water in a rage.

Match #6, Son Goku VS Kuririn, is ready to begin.  Bulma and the others in the audience are shocked.  Goku, "It's our turn, at last!"  Kuririn is nervous.  Bulma, "Those 2 haven't fought each other all out before, have they?!?"  Oolong, "It'll be hard because they're good friends!"  Puar, "Who will win?"  Umigame, "They're both so good, it's hard to say!"  Lunch (evil form), "No it's not!  Remember, Goku defeated the whole Red Ribbon Army on his own!"  Goku is warming up.  Kuririn, "If you hold back, I'll hate you forever!"  Goku agrees not to hold back, and they do that weird handshake type thing where they cross arms.  They are both called into the ring, and they step toward it.  Bulma, "Who should we cheer for?"  Oolong, "Goku!  No..Kuririn!"  Puar, "So you're saying Goku should lose?"  Oolong, "So you're saying Kuririn should lose?"  Bulma yells out that this is tough.  Goku and Kuririn step into the ring.  Kuririn tells himself that he must win, after 3 hard years of training.  He has a flashback of his training.  He pushed that large rock huge distances, swam through the ocean pulling a cruise ship behind him, and lifted a dumb bell with KameSennin and Yamcha sitting on both ends of it.  The flashback ends.  Kuririn, "I'm going to do it!"  Goku, "I'm going to go all out!"  The match begins, and they both get ready to fight.

Meanwhile, KameSennin is finishing changing out of his Jackie Chun disguise.  He notices that Tenshinhan is standing behind him.

Goku and Kuririn stare intensely at each other in silence.

Back outside the stadium. Tenshinhan, "Why?  Why would the great KameSennin wear a silly costume and change his name to compete?  Is that why you lost?  Would you go all out if you weren't in disguise?"  KameSennin suddenly sneezes, and wipes up his snot with a tissue.  He hands Tenshinhan the tissue, "When you become old, you sneeze a lot.  Now what is it you were saying?"  Tenshinhan tosses down the tissue in anger, "Get serious!!"  KameSennin, "How impatient.  I entered in disguise for my disciples.  What if one of them were to win?  He would become conceited and lose the desire to improve."  Tenshinhan, "Now I see why you lost.  You thought I was too strong for either of them to beat.  But if we continued to fight, you knew I would win."  KameSennin, "No, you idiot..."

Back in the ring, Kuririn lunges at Goku and unleashes a barrage of kicks, which are all blocked.  Goku blocks a barrage of punches, and throws a kick, but Kuririn is able to leap over it.  Goku blocks a kick, and dodges a punch.  Kuririn dodges a kick, and blocks a punch.  Goku blocks a punch, ducks under a kick, blocks a few punches, and ducks under yet another kick.  Kuririn ducks under a kick, and they clash.  Goku blocks a barrage of kicks.  Kuririn blocks a barrage of kicks.  They go into a fast paced flurry of fighting.  Finally, they leap back.  They attack each other again, both throwing punches that collide.

Back outside. KameSennin, "They don't need me anymore.  Now they have the courage and aspiration to become great fighters on their own.  It's time to let a new generation of fighters take over, and you're part of it.  You know there's a better way to live?"  Tenshinhan angrily refuses.  KameSennin, "You aren't evil at heart.  Otherwise you wouldn't come over here to talk to me.  Bye!"  He starts to walk away.  Tenshinhan, "Let me tell you!  My dream is to become a great assassin like Tao Pai Pai!  I'm not the weakling you think I am!  My only desires are fear and blood!  I'll show you during the Final Match!"  KameSennin, "You're right about one thing.  If we had continued fighting, you would have won.  Well, time for me to watch a great match!"  Tenshinhan, "Doesn't he have any pride?  He just admitted defeat!"

Back in the ring, Goku and Kuririn go into another flurry of fast paced fighting.  Puar states that Kuririn is holding his own.  Goku punches Kuririn away.  When Kuririn looks up, Goku is gone.  Goku suddenly leaps in with a kick, but only goes through an image of Kuririn.  Kuririn is behind Goku, and they go into yet another fast flurry of fighting.  They leap into the air and continue the same flurry. Once they land, the crowd is in disbelief. Kuririn, "You're fast. How did you get behind me?". Goku, "You're pretty good! You countered!". Oolong, "They're both serious!". Lunch, "Go Kuririn! No, Goku!"  She gets confused, so they all just start cheering for both fighters.  Kuririn elbows Goku, and kicks him into a wall.  Kuririn lunges at Goku.  Goku leaps into the air, so Kuririn follows.  Tenshinhan returns to the stadium, and watches the battle.  KameSennin stands on top of his cane, watching the great fight.  Kuririn reflects the setting sunlight into Goku's eyes, using his bald head.  Goku is blinded, and Kuririn kicks him back toward the ground.  Kuririn, "Yeah! If I keep at him like this I'll win!"  Goku safely lands, to Kuririn's disappointment.  Goku vows that he will win this match.  Goku lunges at the falling Kuririn with a kick.  Kuririn refuses to lose to easily, and inhales a lot of air, puffing up like a balloon.  Goku's kick misses, and they both land.  The crowd is shocked, and KameSennin chuckles.  Goku, "You're a lot better!  I've never had so much fun!"  Tenshinhan remembers what Jackie Chun told him about walking into a new world of bright light.  He gets mad, "Don't make me laugh.  Just wait until the Final Match..."  Goku and Kuririn's amazing fight is underway, and they seem evenly matched!  But do Goku and Kuririn have any new tricks up their sleeves...?
