Dragonball Z Episode 162: Goku vs. Cell

(dubbed episode)

This episode starts out with Goku stepping up and walking into the ring to face Cell. The mood is somber, and neither warrior says anything. This begins a stare down between the two. The screen now goes to the announcer, who says all hope is lost since Hercules (Mr. Satan) has been defeated. Gohan and Krillin say this will be a good fight. All the other Z Warriors say nothing. Vegita says, in his head, it's time to see what you can do Kakarott. Cell begins to talk, saying he has been waiting for this, and saying that Goku will be a good test and that Cell is perfection. Goku states that he knows Cell knows all of the Z Warriors techniques.

Hercules returns to the announcer, saying he lost his footing. The announcer doesn't agree. The girl, the groupie so to say, defends Hercules. The announcer begins to believe Hercules. Hercules says after a short break he will be back to defeat Cell. Vegita calls him a stupid man, and says he has no chance. Trunks wonders why Goku's so confident. Cell and Goku stare each other down again. The announcer tells the crowd that Hercules lost his footing. All the non battling Z Warriors stare at the announcer, knowing he's stupid. Hercules predicts that Goku will loose. Krillin is impressed at Goku's composure. Piccolo states that Goku could be enjoying himself. Trunks states that Goku is the best chance this planet has. Hercules continues to talk that Goku will loose, and the announcer begins to joke around with Hercules. Goku launches himself at Cell, and they go into a flurry of attacks. Neither has any type of advantage. Both land hits, and separate. Goku smiles, clearly having fun. The bozos on the side, Hercules and company, are scarred and surprised. Hercules jaw is on the floor and cannot do his interview. Goku and Cell fight again, this time Goku going out of view. Cell waits patiently. Goku comes back, and Cell easily fends him off. Goku goes right through Cell, but it was an illusion. He then kicks him and he almost lands outside the ring. Goku lets him come back in unchallenged. Goku says he knew it wouldn't be that easy. Both say to each other that they are holding back. Goku tells Cell to bring it on.

Once again they pause in their fighting. Cell states that Goku is enjoying himself because he is a Saiya-jin. They then attack, and disappear out of the site of Hercules. The Z Warriors are all following them though, and they only appear for split seconds at a time, neither one with an advantage. Hercules and the announcer are left staring. Hercules claims it's an optical illusion done with mirrors. Hercules hides behind his cape, trying to prove that it's easy to disappear. He claims this is what Goku and Cell are doing. Krillin starts laughing at the idiots. Yamcha and Tien comment on their speed. (Goku and Cells) Goku and Cell continue to vanish, attack, and vanish. Now the wind begins to grow greatly, with Goku almost knocking cell out again. They appear above the ring testing their strength. Cell is knocked to the ground, and lands with a thunderous crash. They are fighting again, and Goku catches Cells' hand, hurting Satan's gang. Cell and Goku continue their attacks, this time Cell knocking Goku towards the edge of the ring. Gohan asks why his dad isn't taking it seriously. Cell swings only to miss Goku, the latter vanishing. Cell then goes after Goku, again knocking him to the edge, only to be knocked up. Goku does the Kame Hame Ha, and uses it as a distracter to get behind Cell and nail him. Cell pounds Goku in anger, knocking him to the ground and cracking the arena. Cell says that the warm up is over. The announcer is shocked that it was just a warm-up. Goku says, to himself, that Cell is just as strong as Goku had thought. All of Hercules' Goons are shocked, while the Z Warriors are calm. Goku gets in a fighting stance. He crosses his arms, and begins to power up. Cell looks on in anticipation.
