DBZ
Movie 6: 10,000,000,000 Power Warriors
Movie
6 is easily one of the best DBZ films. Entitled '100,000,000 power
warriors', it is enough to satisfy any Dragonball fan. My opinion is
that everyone should see this, and divulge themselves in its
brilliance. It has great characters, great plot, and cool fight
scenes. It even has Goku and Vegeta working together! This is one ace
film, and should be viewed by the world! Kula has returned, and is in
some sort of robotic form, more powerful than ever! Goku and Vegeta
fight hard,. and eventually defeat him through the use of teamwork.
SOUND:
6/10 (Average): The
music was good, although it tad unnoticeable. It didn't really have
any prominence about it, and just drones on in the background almost
silently, meaning that you have to listen hard to realize that it is
actually playing. As for the quality of it, well it wasn't bad, but
hardly anything to write home about. The sound effects were on
the same page too, as they were blending in well, but not nearly
noticeable enough. The voices were the same as the last film, not bad,
yet not great. The best part about it was probably the grinding noises
made by Kula's metallic steps, even if this got slightly annoying
after a while.
CHARACTERS:
8/10 (Good): Kula
looks cooler than ever encased in his shiny metal shell, with his
greatly increased power. Fused with the metagalactic starship, he is
enough to destroy any warrior in the galaxy. He fights equally as well
as he does in movie 5, but with more power, and more intelligence.
Goku also looks just as cool when he makes the transformation to Super
Saiyan. More great news is that this film includes Vegeta! He fronts a
cast which includes Piccolo, Gohan, Krillen, Roshi, and even Oolong!
Of course Goku is in there too, with a bunch of robotic goons that
reside with Kula thrown into the mix. Add Yajirobe the comedian to
this, and you've got a sure fire winner, purely down to the characters
in the film.
FIGHT
SCENES: 8/10 (Good): Just
as good as those of the previous films, Goku and Kula fight
impressively, with the advantage swaying backwards and forwards,
neither one really becoming stronger than the other. Eventually it
ends with Kula being far too strong, even for SSJ Goku, and SSJ
Vegeta. When these two team up, they finally destroy Kula in a very
quick battle, using some fantastic moves. They finish off the battle
by trying to take out the rest of the mechanic warriors with a huge
blast, which does little other than injuring themselves. The final
fight with Kula was also quite watchable, with some good moves and
heroic teamwork in the equation, but it was a little disappointing for
the decisive battle. The other fights were good fun though, such as
Piccolo, Gohan, Krillen, and Roshi against the mere robots, far weaker
than Kula, but a hefty match all the same. There were some good
attacks and moves in that battle, which impressed me greatly,
especially Piccolo's esteem in battle, taking out the vast majority of
the opponents.
THE
START: 7/10 (Above Average): Kula
is terrorizing people once again, this time the people of New Namek.
Dende sends the Earth's Special Forces to help his people, and on the
way, they eat, and talk about meaningless subjects that bare no
significance to anything. It shows the evil intentions of the captors
of the Nameks, without revealing Kula, making it more suspenseful, and
a bigger shock when we see that he's behind it. I thought that it was
a fairly good effect, with the scene being set well, and a good
hostage situation being made. If the discussion on the 'good guys'
ship was a bit more coordinated and interesting, then this film would
start off brilliantly.
PLOT:
8/10 (Good): Another
brilliant plot has been hatched, and once again it is similar to the
others, but has been tampered with just enough to make it ingenious.
Bad guy viciously captures Nameks, Good guys come to save the day,
Goku fights Kula, Vegeta fights Kula, Goku and Vegeta work together,
Kula is beaten, Lots of Kula's come, Goku and Vegeta captured, Both
escape, Goku fights Kula for final time, Goku uses the good old spirit
bomb to defeat him, Vegeta flies off as a loner. Whilst this is great,
there's more. There are a few little side stories, which involve
Gohan, Krillen, and Yajirobe trying to escape from some robots, and
Piccolo fighting one of the Kula's. The side stories may only be
brief, but they add to the drama, and suspense to the film. When you
think about its events, you can appretiate how hard the writers must
have worked to come up with such clever twists and dramatic devices.
THE
ENDING: 7/10 (Above average): Kula
was defeated by a nice attack, a spirit bomb that exploded right in
his stomach, blowing him to pieces. Vegeta and Goku had succeeded in
finally defeating the awesomely powerful monster. They both shot out
of the exploding ship, and soared down to the ground, landing heavily.
Goku was healed with a sensu bean, but Vegeta was no where to be seen.
He had sneaked away to his pod, and was flying out of the planets
atmosphere. In his hand in the metagalactic starship (Kula's ship)
microchip, which he crushes, knowing that Kula will never be able to
come back. I quite liked this, as the two heroes went their separate
ways, in superb style. Goku rejoices the victory with his friends and
son, and Vegeta goes off solitarily, by himself, basking in the glory
of defeating Kula. He is bloody, battered, and beaten, but we all know
that he'll be back, just as strong as ever, and this adds to the
enjoyment of the ending, seeing that Vegeta is ok. It could have been
made a little better, but wrapped things off nicely, and was made well
enough to satisfy my standards.
OVERALL:
8.5/10 (Very Good): This
goes one better on the previous film, of which it is a kind of sequel
to. It provides great enjoyment with a sophisticated plot, complex
dialogue, and great fighting scenes. All of these are a requirement in
DBZ films, and this one fulfills them perfectly, with incredible
success. The great characters, and characterization in this film make
it a sure fire winner, bound to be popular with all fans. It could be
a little hard to understand for the younger viewers though, with many
complex words used, to show off Kula's vast intelligence. A great
film, everything about it is done brilliantly. A must see!
