Dragonball Z Collectible Card Game

Namekian Style, the Late Comer

Weaknesses and Strengths of the Namek.

Ok namekian, could be possibly be the worst style out there in people's minds. This little guy came out late and hasn't seen to be too popular out there. Namekian has got some serious combos going on and seems to be the exact opposite of the well known saiyan style, let us take a trip down the path Namekian.

Namekian Characters

First thought comes to mind from namekian is piccolo, piccolo is the trademark for namekian with his regenerating powers combined with the incredible mechanics of the namekian style makes him one big green regenerating powerhouse. But this isn't all that namekian style is cracked up to be.

The Pros

Namekian has a great advantage as you aren't limited by one type of deck arch type like red or black and even orange. This style allows you to play, regeneration which no other deck can even compare to, energy beat down using the mastery to power up every combat, and physical beat down using namekian's natural huge physicals. Every one of these styles are under played, just as namekian style it self is.

Namekian Energy Attacks

Namekian Energy beat down, during the Trunks saga when this little dude first popped out his little green head, he was limited greatly having every other style access to the two other sagas before him. Namekian still had to be worked on and didn't quite have all of its full potential until later in the Cell saga, but now at this time namekian has quite array of energy attacks that can be recycled with the mastery not only powering him up to full but allowing to dish out whatever comes his way. Namekian energy beatdown was the first arch type (that I know of) to come out of namekian style and has only grown bolder and better. Namekian Energy attacks are good but too lack in number, if you want a namekian energy beat down you need power stages that the mastery provides you with, but with the lack of namekian energy attacks you wont always be able to power up using the mastery.

The Regeneration Behind Namekian

Namekian Regeneration, this deck arch type didn't see much until the cell saga release where piccolo came out and was this arch type on paper. Cell saga not only brought piccolo but other namekian regeneration abilities as well making this deck arch type more popular and much stronger. Cards in this arch type are Namekian Regeneration, Namekian Focusing and Namekian Fist smash. This deck can really keep going along with its 80 card limit rule giving a great advantage.

Namekian Physical Attacks

Now Namekian Physical Beats, this deck isn't all that hot, but with Cell HT level one this deck rose up in popularity a bit, but not much. The namekian style has a lot of physical attacks but isn't as eye popping like saiyan style or black with their monstrous attacks. Namekian Physical Beats don't see much of any play and should stay that way with new sagas making more regeneration cards than physical attacks..

A Good Namekian Deck

Now you say namekian good for energy beat and regeneration, no deck can over come the power of getting 6 cards back into my deck every combat. This is completely wrong and even most namekian regeneration decks don't see tournament play. This because they just haven't been around long enough and with score just now really making up their minds of what namekian style should be like, the decks are all over the place scattered between energy physical and regeneration. Next you say well I will just have all of the regeneration cards and colorless to make my deck work. Wrong again if you want to stay alive you want that mastery, with all of the physical beats out there you can't afford to give up power stages, and we know that namekian isn't well known for its power ups.

The Cons

Namekian style also is limited by its fact of anger, namekian only has 3 characters that can use its style and even then one of them can't use its anger raising card. This also leaves namekians at level one and their level ones can't take or dish out the physical insanity going around tournaments these days.

Namekian is good for fun and games but unless you are a very good experienced player with all of the tricks and the know-how of taking out the full power of the namekian style cards I suggest you don't play it.

Sincerely,
David C./ShenronGod2

IQ's Note:
One thing that always makes me laugh is the Namekian can only be used by 3 characters yet it can still be used by 2 villains and 2 heroes, don't forget that Piccolo can be declared as a hero or a villain. And I thought I had multiple personalities o_0
