I have received numerous emails from people in the UK saying CNX has begun showing previews of DBGT, but no air date has been given. I'll keep ya posted on it.

FUNimation has taken steps to turn Yu Yu Hakusho into a DBZ-sized marketing phenomenon
Posted Tuesday, February 18, 2003 by SzR
The show has moved to Toonami, scheduled to air right after Dragon Ball Z in order to best position Hakusho in the minds of the maturing DBZ audience. Jakks Pacific, new owners of the DBZ toy license, have signed on to create Hakusho action figures. Score, publishers of the DBZ card game, will sell a Hakusho-based CCG.

I think this is FUNimations attempt at keeping the "Teen" audience as DBZ is shortly coming to a close. I enjoy Yu Yu Hakusho and hope this works for them. If Yu Yu Hakusho can produce the same selling numbers in all of the above catagories I am sure more Anime will become mainstream. Although I think that FUNimation should target a more mature Anime. We all bash FUNimation (I know I do) but you cannot ignore their Marketing "POWER". Hey Money talks ! My 2 Cents.

DBZ Budokai Sales are out of control/Original DBZ Redubbed?
Posted Monday, February 17, 2003 by SzR
Bandai, the game's publisher in east Asia, today announced that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, the PS2 fighting game on the TV Series, has sold more than 1.94 million units in 20 countries worldwide. The game was published in the United States by Infogrames. This figure includes no sales from Japan, where the game was only just released on the 13th, thus proving that the franchise has developed some very strong legs outside its home country.

Tim of Legacy on AIM
Posted Monday, February 17, 2003 by Tim
Hey, just for future reference, when I am on AIM, I don't mind chatting about DBZ, FUNi, or whatever, but don't ask me to affiliate. It won't happen and I will not talk to you the rest of the time I am on. If you read my FAQ before IMing me you'll see most of your questions answered. They are as follows - RPG is closed, Music vids are down until further notice, I am not taking affiliates, my links section is just my favorite sites, I don't care that a site passed me on Supertop100, no I don't own the site. Everything else is fair game. If you want to bash the hell outta FUNi, I am all ears. If you want to talk about baseball, then I am the man to talk to (I wish the Rangers didn't suck so bad). I love college football, Studio Ghibli anime, and lots of other stuff. But please try and stay away from the topics I listed earlier.

Bashing FUNi Makes the Mailbox Full...
Posted Sunday, February 16, 2003 by Mandrew
Okay, for one, I never said to boycott FUNimation. I said I, as in me, as in ONLY ME, wants to stop buying what they sell. For years, I have followed them up like a slave to a master, buying whatever they has a pricetag on it. I've woken up these past few years, and realized that FUNimation has been putting out horrible, insanely bad products. Yes, I have toured FUNimation studios, back when I worked for Pojo. I met lots of nice people, lots of people with GREAT talent that needs to move elsewhere. Two in particular, is Rick Lebo who is the graphic artist and Kyle Hebert, whose voice is greatly overlooked.

Everyone else is nice, but they all want to make money, so they all have to obey what Mr. Fukunaga says, and maybe Mr. Watson. But just look over the years. The censoring, the crappy toys they put out, the box art, the script, the dialouge, the uneccessary add in's, and Americanizing just about 99.9% of everything. So, let me put it in this way, I don't like at all what FUNimation sells, but I do like the people that work there, because their talent is being wasted on a conglomerate trying to make quick cash.

Pardon for saying if you haven't, but, open your eyes. Look at what you have on your tables, desks, bed spreads, drapes, clothes, and all the other stuff you've wasted money on. Now, put it in comparison to other anime's, action figures, posters, whatnot. I don't have any action figures or posters or anything like that, just videos and DVDs, which are already boxed up and ready to be sold. But, the whole point I wanted to make is:

They are screwing us over by not listening to YOU!

Yes, you. You voice your opinion and it's brushed aside, unless it's, "Please make me as uncomfortable and unhappy as possible while you try to make money!" Do you know how many petitions have been brought up for original music and original dialouge? More than enough, and we thought they got the point with Dragon Ball and having the original Japanese on DVD, but that's just a waste of $20 for only the original score and Japanese. However, two out of... what... some 10-15 other things just doesn't cut it. If you look at other anime companies, they do stay true to the original score and dialouge, except if they have to be put on TV, but I'm so against censoring on TV, I won't go there. So, that's the point I was trying to make, in case some of you couldn't understand. Thanks for the read. Cyas.

I Have Had It...
Posted Saturday, February 15, 2003 by Mandrew
FUNimation, you just lost a customer. I refuse to buy anymore DVDs or videos or whatever crap you make just to make us unhappy. I'm going to sell all my videos and DVDs that you have made of Dragon Ball Z within one month, and hopefully they will be burned. I will NOT buy anymore DVDs from a company that refuses to listen to its fans and tries to make a quick buck. Animes such as Cowboy Bebop, the Gundam series, Neon Genesis, and Excel Saga: those are are made from companies that actually understand what fans want and that's why they are making money quicker. Try it out FUNimation. Do you want to make a quick buck and have pissed off fans? Or do you want to roll in money and have a large abudance of fans? I will not buy anymore DVDs that you make. Not the new Tenchi series. Not One Piece. Not Lupin. Not anything. Anything that makes you happy, I will not buy. Take notice FUNi... you have screwed us over fifty billion times, and I will not tolerate it again. That's my two cents. Peace out.

This DBGT stuff is getting worse....
Posted Saturday, February 15, 2003 by Tim
Daniel pointed out a few posts ago that there was a new DBGT theme song, and yes I have listened to it and think its horrible. You fans hoping FUNi might switch back to the original theme are in for some serious disappointment. FUNimation is now holding a contest where people send in a VHS tape of them dressed in costumes and sing the new theme song karaoke style. FUNi.... what are you thinking??
