A-Kon 13

I woke up with something terribly wrong with my left eye, and made me go most the day without my contacts.  I came to realize it was the hotel ventilation with all the fanboys in the hotel.  My god my allergies flared up.  Well, I woke up to find my entire crew was out and about except for John, who was getting into his Mr. Satan costume.  He really looked like the weakling and got his picture taken numerous times throughout the day.  After we both were ready, we headed over to another voice actor panel, featuring Scott McNeil, Monica Ruiz, Kyle Hebert, and Sean Schemmel.  Sean was quite talkative throughout the panel, but had to refuse a request to do the KAMEHAMEHA.  He had lost his Goku voice in his session at FUNi earlier in the week, so Kyle filled in and yelled out his blast.  After the panel, I hit the dealers’ room once again and picked up Ping Pong Club and Excel Saga on DVD.

Around 2 PM I met up with the group and said my goodbyes to Steve and Becca as they headed back home for Becca’s college graduation.  After the tearful goodbyes, the group headed to the video room to watch Dementia 7.  I wasn’t a big fan of it to tell you the truth, but it got me off my feet for a little while.  Afterward, we all split up again, this time I was with Jon Allen and John and did some shopping with Chris Sabat and Eric Vale!  That was a fun time, and then ran into Mandrew and the group of us headed to Hunter Muse’s panel from FUNimation.  Hunter runs dragonballz.com and talked in great deal about the new series FUNi acquired, mentioning Fruits Basket and the ten Lupin movies.

Around five or six, we head back up to the room, Mandrew comes over, and the lot of us starts watching Ping Pong Club.  In walks John with his new purchase, a miniature remote control car.  I think I had the most fun playing with that toy then most of my purchases.  After a couple hours of PPC, John and I take the car out into the hallway, but when I come back in the room, everyone is gone.  John, Jack and I headed downstairs and found the karaoke room, but missed the opportunity to see Jon Allen perform Chala Head Chala (I really hope you fans know this song, if not it is the Japanese DBZ theme) due to a phone call from my brother.  He had shown up at the con for the Vampire LARP and needed some information from me.  Afterwards, John and I headed upstairs and watched some more anime with Kyle and Mandrew.

I met up with my brother around 1 AM and went to the rave room and chilled for a little while.  He decided to go home that night so I said goodbye and went stumbling around the hotel trying to find my group.  For nearly an hour I found no one but Mandrew, and got the chance to say my goodbye to him.  Afterwards, I ran into John, who told me that everyone was in Megan and Jessie’s room, so I met up with them there then the guys headed back to our room.  For some strange reason, Jack, John, Jon, and I just could not sleep, with constant jokes being told that had everyone in hysterics.  I think around 5:30 AM, everything calmed down and slowly everyone fell asleep.
