Dragonball
Episode 88: Go Yamucha! Tienshinhan the Formidable Foe
(original, Japanese episode)
Yamcha and Tenshinhan prepare to continue their fight, as everyone watches in
suspense. Yamcha is ready to use his Shin Rougafufuken (The New Wolf Fang
Fist). They both attack, and engage in a flurry of fast paced
fighting. Yamcha dodges a punch from Tenshinhan, and flips behind
him. He grabs Tenshinhan's arm. Both fighters throw punches.
Slices form on both Yamcha and Tenshinhan's cheeks from the blows. Yamcha
punches, but Tenshinhan catches it, and they go into another flurry of fast
paced fighting. Bulma cheers for Yamcha, punching Oolong over the head in
the process. Goku says they are both doing great. Jackie Chun thinks
to himself that he never thought Yamcha had gotten this good. Yamcha and
Tenshinhan land punches on each other at the same time, sending them both to the
ground. They get up, and stare at each other in silence. Tenshinhan
asks if that was all the Shin Rougafufuken can do, and Yamcha just tells him
that the best is yet to come. He leaps high into the sky, in front of the
sun. Yamcha's figure seems to turn into that of a wolf, and falls back
down toward Tenshinhan. The wolf figure turns back into Yamcha, and he
unleashes a barrage of kicks on Tenshinhan, before giving one final kick that
knocks him to the ground. Bulma, Oolong, Puar, and Lunch (good form) all
cheer for Yamcha. Yamcha tells Tenshinhan to give up. Kuririn asks
Chaozu why he isn't concerned, as his friend is about to lose. Chaozu just
smiles at him. Tenshinhan starts laughing, "Give up? Don't make me
laugh!" He gets up, and states that Yamcha's skills are only child's
play to the Crane School. Yamcha, "You must really want to
die." He leaps back up in front of the sun, and his figure turns back
into a wolf again. Tenshinhan strengthens all his muscles, turning red
from all the pressure. Yamcha comes back down, the wolf figure disappears,
and he unleashes another barrage of kicks, which don't effect Tenshinhan at
all. Yamcha flips back. Tenshinhan, "You see? That felt like a
gentle spring breeze. Now let me show you real martial arts." He
lunges at Yamcha, and they go into yet another flurry of fast paced
fighting. Bulma cheers for Yamcha like crazy, violently beating up Oolong
in the process (poor pig). Tenshinhan elbows Yamcha across the face,
pummels him, and punches him to the ground. He sends one last kick that
tosses the downed Yamcha to the other end of the ring. Goku, "This
isn't good..." Tenshinhan tells Yamcha to either give up or
die. Yamcha weakly gets back up, saying he can take more than this after
all the training he went through. He lunges at Tenshinhan, but is suddenly
punched hard in the stomach. Tenshinhan kicks the stunned Yamcha right
back to the ground. Bulma and Puar are concerned. Tenshinhan,
"Give up. I won't lose to anyone." Yamcha struggles to get back
up, and Tenshinhan compliments his strength of will. Jackie Chun states
that this match is already lost. Yamcha gets all the way up, and decides
to use his secret weapon. He gets into a familiar stance, and Kuririn asks
what he plans to do. Goku realizes it is the KameHameHa, which surprises
both Kuririn and Jackie Chun. Yamcha starts charging up, and the shocked
Kuririn wonders when he learned that. Tenshinhan feels incredible power
growing inside Yamcha. Yamcha finishes charging up, and fires his
KameHameHa straight toward Tenshinhan. Tenshinhan gets into a strange
stance, and starts glowing. He manages to block the KameHameHa, and sends
it right back toward Yamcha. Goku, "The KameHameHa was
deflected!" Yamcha leaps high into the air to dodge the blast, which
explodes behind the crowd, blowing many audience members away (possibly killing
some). Yamcha can't believe it, and Goku yells for him to watch out.
Tenshinhan is behind Yamcha, and kicks him hard in the chest. The unconscious
Yamcha slams to the ground, to the concern of Bulma and the others.
Tenshinhan dives toward Yamcha, and Goku yells for him to stop. Tenshinhan
lands knee-first on Yamcha's leg, breaking it (ouch). Everyone is in
shock. Goku and the announcer go to check on Yamcha. Tenshinhan asks
for the decision, and the announcer declares him the winner, since Yamcha is no
condition to fight anymore. The announcer tells a priest to get Yamcha to
the hospital. Puar flies in, crying out that she will take him to the
hospital. She turns into a magic carpet, and tells Goku to put Yamcha
on. Goku gets Kuririn's help, and they carefully place Yamcha on the magic
carpet, which floats off toward the hospital. Bulma and Lunch decide to go
too, and rush off. Goku glares at Tenshinhan, "That was very
cowardly! Yamcha was already knocked out!" Tenshinhan tells Goku to
be thankful that he didn't kill Yamcha, and walks away. Goku vows to
avenge Yamcha by defeating Tenshinhan, which just makes Tenshinhan laugh.
In the crowd, TsuruSennin, "Now the Turtle School understands the Crane
Style of martial arts! I wish I could have seen KameSennin's face when he saw
his student lose! But there's still much more to Tenshinhan than just
this!"
In the Contestant Waiting Room, Chaozu congratulates Tenshinhan. Tenshinhan
says the Turtle School is tougher than he thought, and tells Chaozu not to
under-estimate them. But Yamcha was probably the strongest one there,
which means he will get 1st, and Chaozu will get 2nd. The announcer tells
the crowd that was the last match of today, and Match #2, Jackie Chun VS Man
Wolf will be held tomorrow at noon. Goku wishes Jackie luck for
tomorrow. Jackie tells Goku that he has matured greatly, by having the
will power not to attack Tenshinhan just now. Man Wolf steps in and starts
growling at Jackie. Jackie, "Hey you! How rude! Wipe that foam from your
mouth!" Man Wolf vows to kill him, and walks away. Kuririn wonders
what that guy's problem is.
Later, at the Papaya Hospital, Goku, Kuririn, KameSennin, Bulma, Oolong, Puar,
Umigame (remember, he's the turtle), and Lunch stand around Yamcha's hospital
bed. Yamcha apologizes for letting them all down. Bulma tells Yamcha
that he did great, and it is Tenshinhan that they can't forgive. Kuririn
agrees, adding that Tenshinhan doesn't deserve to be a martial artist.
Goku vows to beat Tenshinhan for Yamcha. Yamcha warns Goku that Tenshinhan
is very strong, and Goku agrees. Lunch tells Yamcha that he needs his
sleep. Yamcha tells Goku to beat Tenshinhan for him, and Goku agrees.
That night, everyone except for Yamcha eats at a restaraunt. KameSennin,
"Don't get too anxious Goku! You've still got an opponent to
fight!" TsuruSennin, Tenshinhan, and Chaozu arrive, and glare at the
others. They take their seats, and TsuruSennin tells the waitress to bring
them a lot of good food, since they are celebrating tonight. TsuruSennin,
"Say Tenshinhan, did your opponent put up a good fight?"
Tenshinhan, "Heh, I could have beaten him with one arm."
TsuruSennin laughs, agreeing that Yamcha is a weakling. Goku tells them
not to insult Yamcha, and Tenshinhan stands up angrily. Bulma and
KameSennin tell Goku to calm down. Goku walks away, suddenly needing to
use the bathroom. TsuruSennin continues talking to Tenshinhan and Chaozu,
saying they have really made KameSennin and the Turtle School look bad.
KameSennin steps over to their table, farts, and sits back down.
TsuruSennin is disgusted by the smell, and rushes over to spit in KameSennin's
food. They start arguing. Bulma and the others are all
embarrassed. So are Tenshinhan and Chaozu.
The next morning, at the Tenkaichi Budokai stadium, KameSennin wanders
along. He goes behind some bushes and changes into his Jackie Chun
disguise. He greets Goku and Kuririn. Goku wishes him luck on the
match. Jackie steps into the ring, confronted by the growling Man
Wolf. Tenshinhan, TsuruSennin, and Chaozu arrive. Goku, Kuririn, and
Jackie Chun glare at them. The match between Jackie Chun and Man Wolf
starts soon! What is this strange hatred Man Wolf has for Jackie Chun?
