Dragonball Z Episode 202: Gohan's Mixed Up First Date

(original, Japanese episode)

Gohan stands in front of a mirror practicing his poses while Goten watches in amazement. He stays up too late and oversleeps his alarm clock, so he rushes off to school. He lands on the roof but is spotted by a young girl. He quickly rushes to class in hopes that she didn’t see him change from the Great Saiyaman into his self. Gohan takes his seat in class, but is very concerned about his secret. The next thing he knows, the girl walks into his class and takes her seat. Gohan doesn’t even realize the teacher is calling on him as he stares at the girl. He is then forced to stand outside and hold two pails of water at arms length. The girl is also daydreaming about Gohan in class and gets into trouble. Instead, she starts crying and the teacher excuses her to the bathroom to clean up. She approaches Gohan outside the room and introduces herself as Angela. She asks if he has a girlfriend, and Gohan replies no. Angela thinks he is lying and starts crying. She then threatens to tell Gohan’s “secret” if he doesn’t go out on a date with her. Reluctantly, he agrees and they decide to meet on Sunday at the Satan City train station. After school, Gohan returns home and asks his mother what her first date was like with Goku. She tells him about how she told Goku that a date was the best thing people can do, so, Goku throws a punch and hits the tree Chi-Chi was standing at, leaving an imprint of his fist. The two then begin to spar. This story leaves Gohan extremely confused on the subject of dating.

Gohan meets Angela at the train station and the two head for the movies. They see a romantic movie that puts Gohan to sleep, ticking Angela off as well. He rushes out of the movie and apologizes. Gohan finds out that Angela is only 13 years old as they have a cup of coffee. They then head for Satan River but spot a huge fire in one of the skyscrapers. Gohan rushes off to help and notices Videl hard at work to stop the fire. She finds a large water tank and tries to turn the valve to open it up but she isn’t strong enough. Gohan rushes off and returns as the Great Saiyaman to save Videl from being crushed by the collapsing tank. He busts the tank open and the water easily puts out the fire. After things begin to settle down, Gohan returns to his normal self and tries to be inconspicuous but Videl notices Gohan is hiding something. Angela catches Videl and Gohan talking and accuses the two of dating. She tells Videl Gohan’s secret, that he wears teddy bear underwear. The next day at school, Gohan sees Angela flirting with another guy. The Great Saiyaman’s identity is saved for now, but Videl is starting to get suspicious.
