Are You Single? Find Love
Dragonball Manga - Volume
1
The final chapter of volume 1 starts off with Oolong looking incredibly tired
due to staying up guarding against Yamcha all night. Goku is refreshed and happy
even though he was drugged, and Bulma has an incredible headache. Oolong says
that he hasn't washed her clothes, but there is something for her to where. Goku
decides that he's hungry, to which Oolong replies "I think we can just
assume that", as Goku is already up to a months rations in just two days.
A shout comes from behind the two, and Bulma is revealed wearing a bunny
costume, and looking very annoyed that it's all Oolong has. She makes him drive
to their next destination - Fry-Pan Mountain. Oolong is annoyed that the fact
that he hasn't slept all night counts for nothing, but does what she says
none-the-less.
Up on the top of a large cliff, Yamcha watches intently, preparing to attack
and giving Puar a list of things to pack.
Inside the truck, Bulma is applying make up to her face hoping that Yamcha
appears again, but Oolong perishes the though as he is scared out of his mind of
the bad guy. Goku notices something out of the window, and it turns out to be
the desert bandit Yamcha, returning to steal the Dragonballs. First up he
launches some sort of missile at the good guys, immobilizing the truck. Bulma is
hurt as the vehicle comes to a halt, feinting but not injured. Goku jumps out,
and Yamcha comes to face him. The small kid is incredibly annoyed, holding his
head madly. Yamcha demands that they hand the Dragonballs over, surprising
everyone that he knows about it. Goku refuses though, and charges forward
claiming that he'll win now because he's no longer hungry.
The two engage in battle, and Goku quickly gets the upper hand with a
powerful kick to Yamcha's face, knocking one of his teeth out. The desert bandit
sees the damage done to his "beautiful face" and runs away
dejectedly.
Oolong is thoroughly impressed with Goku's victory, and the kid stands there
proud. Meanwhile Yamcha has decided on another plan - He'll just follow them
until they've collected all 7 balls, then jump in and make his wish.
Soon after Yamcha finds Goku and Oolong who are walking and carrying Bulma
due to their truck being wrecked, and the duo hands over a free capsule
containing a car, then apologize for the inconvenience caused. Oolong and Goku
are surprised by the kind gesture, and immediately drive away, whilst Yamcha and
Puar stick to the shadows, tracking the car with a device so they won't lose
track of the heroes.
They travel for a while, and eventually reach their destination of Fry-Pan
mountain, which is basically just a huge, flaming mountain. Oolong warns them of
the Ox King that resides there, saying that he'll kill anyone who comes for his
treasure, so they'd best either head back or be incredibly careful. He explains
that the Ox King lives near the base, as the mountain exploded in flames when he
was out on a picnic with his kid one day. He doesn't think that even Goku can
defeat the beast, and attempts to escape, but Bulma brings him to a stop with
her 'swee swee' technique, after he ate the chocolate earlier on, and he is
forced to run to the nearest bush to dump his load.
Yamcha and Puar see the destination that the
heroes were traveling to, and doubt that they can get the Dragonball off the Ox
King, but wait to see just in case. From out of no where, a young girl storms
past, chased closely by a vicious dinosaur. She stops, takes off her helmet,
then throws it, cutting the T-Rex's head clean off. She then sees Yamcha, and
thinks he's scary, so she attempts to kill him but he manages to avoid the
attack, countering it by smashing her over the head, and knocking her out. He
then drives off, very annoyed.
Outside the scorching hot caste Bulma and Oolong
fret over ideas to get the ball, until they come up with the fact that they need
someone to fly, volunteering Goku for the job. He calls his nimbus then jumps
on, soaring towards his target. When he gets close though, he is forced to pull
away due to the temperatures being too hot, even for him.
Behind Bulma and Oolong, a shady figure creeps
up, and throws his axe, narrowly missing. The two are terrified as the huge,
intimidating Ox King bares down on them. He accuses them of wanting to steal his
treasure, but they deny it. The game is up though when Goku returns claiming
that he was unable to break into the castle. Bulma screams at him to shut up,
but the Ox King has already heard him.
He sees Goku's nimbus cloud, and asks where he
got it, to which Goku explains that he got it from "Kame Sen'nin, the ol'
turtle guy". The Ox King goes mad at this show of disrespect, and demands
to know where his "invincible master" is.
It turns out that Kame Sen'nin, aka Master Roshi
trained Ox King, and must be even stronger than him! Unfortunately this is where
the volume ends, so check out volume 2 to find out what happens next!
