Episode 207: Ahh I flew! Videl Learns to Fly
Gohan takes his two students, Videl and Goten,
out into open field to teach them the Buku-Jutsu, the art of flying. He says it
is just a matter of being able to control you ki to get you off the ground. The
problem is Videl has no idea what ki is. As Gohan tries to think of a way to
describe ki, Goten just gives a visual example by firing an energy blast and
blowing up a rock. Videl's eyes almost pop out of her head. She claims it is a
trick, just like her father did during the Cell saga. She then gets angry at
Gohan, saying she knows nothing about this "magic". Gohan reassures
Videl that she can fly, but she just has to learn how to control her ki. He
tells Goten to wait a bit while he teaches Videl how to control ki. Videl sits
on her knees while Gohan gives his demonstration. He first says you have to
quiet yourself and relax, then slowly draw from your inner power. He focuses on
his hands a small ball of light forms. Videl stares in amazement. Gohan then
stands up and says it is her turn. She concentrates hard to force an energy
ball, but Gohan says not to do it with her strength but with her mind. Then they
decide to take a break and eat some lunch
Videl thanks Chi-Chi for lunch but is still
getting a cold reception from her. Videl takes a bite and compliments Chi-Chi on
her fine cooking, declaring it is better than what her chef makes. Chi-Chi asks
if Videl owns a restaurant, but Videl replies that the chef works at her house.
Chi-Chi realizes the Videl is rich and asks how many rooms her house contains,
and after some thought, Videl responds with 50. Chi-Chi then yells at Gohan when
he will marry Videl, which makes him spit out all his food all over Goten.
As Goten tries to catch a frog, Videl's training
continues. She again concentrates on forming a ball of ki in her hands, and then
successfully completes her task. Gohan compliments her, but Videl looks
exhausted. She braces herself on the ground, but then looks up and gets excited,
asking if she can fly yet. Gohan replies that she can't and won't be able to
until she gets free control over her ki, which gets him a cold glare.
Goku continues his training with Kaio-sama in the
afterworld. He is wearing bricks around his wrists and ankles as he levitates in
the air throwing kicks and punches. South Kaio walks up to Kaio-sama and asks
why Goku has not received training from Dai-Kaio, which he replies that Dai-Kaio
is busy. South Kaio asks how much weight Goku is training with, only to get a
shocking answer of two tons each! Papoi, South Kaio's new student, claims he
cannot be beaten, and South Kaio begins to brag about him. Kaio-sama mentions
the Tenka Ichi Budokai that is about to take place and ask South Kaio to enter
Papoi, and he accepts. Kaio-sama then tells Goku he is going to increase the
weight in the bricks. Goku asks how much weight this time, and Kaio-sama
responds with ten tons! South Kaio thinks he is kidding, and Goku claims it
might be too much weight. South Kaio begins to laugh, but Kaio-sama reminds Goku
that he can still change into a Super Saiyajin. Goku then gives it the okay, and
South Kaio gets the honors or increasing the weight, a grand total of 40 tons.
After a last warning, he increases the weight, and Goku falls fast to the
ground. He slows to a stop and transforms to an SSJ and continues to train in
the air. South Kaio and Papoi can't believe it, and Kaio-sama reminds them of
the tournament. South Kaio immediately changes his mind, claiming Papoi doesn't
like those silly games and is a foolish waste of time.
It is now time to teach Videl and Goten how to
fly. Goten tries to just jump in the air, but Gohan says he can't do it with his
legs and has to float on his ki. Goten then concentrates his ki and begins to
float in the air. He gets a little too cocky and falls flat on his face. Gohan
rushes to his brother's aid. Goten asks about the training, and Gohan says after
Videl goes home they can train as hard as they want. Videl gets upset and yells
at Gohan to teach her. He asks if it's getting a little late, but Videl says
learning to fly is more important so the lesson continues. Gohan says for her to
ignore her bodily strength and concentrate more ki. Videl slowly lefts up on her
toes, then in to the air. Gohan praises her, but she tells him to shut up so she
can concentrate. She lands and Gohan again praises her, saying she learned how
to fly in just a day. However, Goten is flying all over the place right over
their heads. The older brother immediately spouts out excuses, saying Goten
already new how to control his ki. Videl says she is coming back the next day,
but Gohan asks if she can train at home. Videl looks angry so Gohan gives in. As
she prepares to go home, Gohan gives one last bit of advice, about Videl's hair.
He recommends that she cut her hair short. Videl asks if Gohan likes short hair
and if that is his type. He immediately begins explaining his advice, saying
short hair is better for competition, that way no one can grab it and it won't
get in your eyes. Videl gets extremely upset and tells Gohan it is her hair and
leaves. Goten asks why she got angry, but Gohan has no idea, and even worse, he
can't train.
Vegeta and Trunks are in the gravitation room and
Vegeta tells his son that the weight in the room is too extreme. Trunks says he
got a call from Goten, hearing his friend is entering the Tenka Ichi Budokai and
wants to enter as well. He then says he can't move in the room in his current
stage, so he will change into a SSJ. Vegeta looks shocked as he watches his
young son transform. He wonders to himself why there are so many SSJ, what was
originally called a legendary warrior. He asks his son of Goten can transform as
well, and Trunks says yes. Vegeta then tells Trunks to attack him and if he can
hit his father in the face, he'll take him to an amusement park. Trunks attacks,
throwing a flurry of punches, and grazes Vegeta's face. Vegeta counterattacks
and punches his son in the face, sending the young boy flying. Trunks sits up
and claims his father is being unfair because he wasn't supposed to
counterattack. Vegeta says he never said he wouldn't and Trunks starts
whimpering. Vegeta tells his son to stop crying and he will take him to the
amusement park, delighting the boy. He then asks who is stronger between Goten
and him, and Trunks says he is by a little since he is a year older than Goten
and Goten can't fly. Vegeta still can't believe this.
The next day, Gohan and Goten race out to go
train before Videl arrives but she flies right over them and almost hits them
with her plane. She steps out of the plane and Goten asks who she is because he
doesn't recognize her. It appears that she has taken Gohan's advice and cut her
hair short. The boys are disappointed they didn't get to train on their own. And
even worse, Gohan is even more confused about girls.
