Hmmm. I just got Double Cross and Assault in the mail, and I am engrossed in thought. Should I take loser advice from Greg Werner and this wierdo named Chris Psaros and just not watch the movie, or should I do the "smart" thing and watch all of the episodes through like a real man? Would I pop like a balloon like Chris did, or would I lose my thirst for life like Greg did?

Well, I saw the movies, and nothing at all like that happened. In fact, I was quite amused.

I bought the movies with the strict intention that I would not turn into one of the many people who won't stop calling Funimation the "purest form of evil" or other sorts of satanic avatars. After I saw the movies, I knew immediately that Toei was not getting the credit it should automatically deserve. But I also saw that Funimation was trying pretty hard to stay with the flow. Now, I really want to get the next few sentences out.

THE JAPANESE VOICES SUCK! HEAR THAT? SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK! Boy, that feels good. But, seriously, I don't think a Super Saiyajin would have such a friggin high voice as Goten does. The only voice that I feel that was TRULY on target for the Japanese version was Piccolo, Vegeta, and #18. The other voices were either way too high, or way too exaggerated. An example is Kuririn's voice. I will admit, his voice is pure sh... I mean, turd in the NA dub, but his voice is a huge chunk of buffalo chips in the Japenese dub. He is supposed to have that dramatic, midget voice, but you end up with a voice that sounds like he's had his testes removed. I'm not joking.

Okay, now all of you are thinking, who the hell does this dick think he is, trying to badmouth Japanese Dragonball Z? I am not trying to badmouth it, not at all, I am just saying that maybe you're not give NA DBZ the credit it deserves. I think the next episodes are quite good, and it won't drive away the viewing public. Rather, if I know CN's advertising techniques, it should attract an audience from other cartoons like Swat Kats, Powerpuff Girls, etc. Just don't try and say American DBZ is dead. Because it isn't. It's more alive than it's ever been.
