Review:  For years people have played Monopoly on the board, a few years ago I got a really "bad" version of Monopoly for my computer. When this new Monopoly game came out I took one look at the box and recognizing my craving for a good game of Monopoly, I bought it. This game lives up to all my expectations. The graphics are great, the gameplay easy and the options are great. Not only can you play against AI players you can create them putting such characteristics as their preference in property and how easy it is to trade.

The opportunity to play over the net is very tempting and should not be overlooked. The graphics are overwhelming but after a while they got a little annoying and I wound up turning most of them off. If you have time to kill watching the graphics is a good way to do it. The sound is okay, some decent sound effects but nothing spectacular. The options are tremendous. If you get bored playing with American Community Chest and Chance cards switch to English or maybe another country. Free parking is in effect to either be a safe haven or collect fines. In my experience landing on free parking can change the game. There is a quick game option where you are given properties in the beginning.

This game was a lot of fun to play and created quite a bit of hostility in my house, so be warned. I would recommend getting this game for those times when you need a Monopoly fix. It is a good game to play with a group of people. And rest easy, when you are done you don't have to pack up everything.

Hints:

To some extent, Monopoly is a game of chance because the roll of the dice
determines your next move. But, it's also a game of strategy because what you
do at the end of each move ultimately determines if you win or lose.  Here are
some time-honored strategies for making the most of each move:

PURCHASING PROPERTY
Buy every piece of property you land on, including utilities.  Some folks
think they are a less desirable investment but they pay for themselves very
quickly.  The same advice goes for railroads because they are frequent
destinations of "Chance" and "Community Chest."  Take the time to learn the
building costs for each property because they vary and you want to build as
quickly as possible and as often as possible.

HOUSES vs. HOTELS
Players are unable to buy houses without first buying hotels.  Since there are
32 houses and 12 hotels, you can block or at least diminish, your opponents
access to hotels by buying up all of the houses as quickly as possible.

JAIL
Should you just sit there are pay the price to get out?  Pay the price early
in the game because you want to be busy building your empire but once all of
the property is owned by you and your opponents, relax in the "tank" and watch
your bottom line escalate when your opponents land on your vast holdings.

MISCELLANEOUS
The most common combinations rolled on two dice are 6, 7 and 8, so try to
build on properties that take advantage of those rolls.  Try to make trades so
you can own whole blocks of property.
