Review:
FIFA is an excellent game. It's definitely worth your money, but only if your an
avid Fifa fan. If you're a starter, you're better off with Fifa 2001 or even 99.
The gameplay in Fifa 2002 far exceeds that of any other Fifa game. Finally you
have players actually moving off the ball and the opposing team won't let you
dribble through the whole defense. Although I'll admit that at the pro or world
class levels the AI cheats and the gameplay seems unfair, it's always minor
situations.
The refs are the fairest i've seen them since RTWC 98. For all you slide
tackling fans, your going to have to learn to use the conservative tackle now.
Slide tackling is how you draw fouls, and 90% ineffective.
Overall a good game, I will say that I expected some things to be in Fifa 2002
but they offered other things. Personally, I feel that EA should build off this
game. They should keep the gameplay, creation centre, and the fairness of the
refs. They should add a national player pool, the real names of certain players
and not just the number, the transfer setup that Fifa 99 had, also the number of
players that 99 had, and more leagues. I feel they need to have these leagues:
Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, MLS, Portugal, Spain, France, England, Scotland,
Denmark, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Korea, and Japan. I
think if they can mix all this up, they'd have a great game.
Back to Fifa 2002, It's a great game and definitely worth your time. There are
enough features to keep you player for weeks straight.
