Dragonball Z: The legacy og Goku

Dragon Ball Z® - The Legacy of Goku is a powerful RPG that will take you to the ends of the earth and beyond in an attempt to rid the galaxy of evil. You play Goku, a powerful Saiyan warrior, striving to find peace for the universe, facing adversaries of immense power and evil. The game is much like the other Dragon Ball Z Rpg’s (found on the SNEZ console’s) and the story line is pretty accurate relating to the series. You go through the torment of loosing Gohan and chasing Raditz to reclaim him, the colossal fight between Goku and the two evil Saiyan’s, Vegeta and Nappa. Explore Namek and save the planet, and finally go Super Saiyan to defeat Frieza in one mighty battle, for the title of most powerful fighter in the galaxy.

The graphics for this game are on par to those with other GBA titles, and you are not let down by the quality, unlike the previous DBZ titles. Presentation wise, the game is good looking and plays well, with the controls easy to learn and use in battle and exploring. Sound wise, the game is very well designed, and the developers have even included some digitized sound bites from the cartoon itself. The game play for this game is unfortunatly restrictive and the adventure is extremely linear. The game itself can also be hard to understand in places, and those who are not big DBZ fans may get bored quite quickly. As for lasting appeal, this game is unfortunatly short and can be completed over a weekend. The puzzles are not very taxing, and combat methods are very "Hit and run", and this gets boring quite quickly.

In all, this game will be attractive to the DBZ fan for a quick game, but any serious RPG fans should stay away.

Overall game rating 3/5 stars - mediocre
