The three years of training expire and the whole Z gang wish their family goodbye and head for SouthWest City, the location where Trunks said they were going to arrive first. Goku and the others reach a mountain and they see Bulma there carrying a baby. Goku, who already knows that it's Trunks, gives it away. They asks Bulma who she had it with, and they all look at yamcha, expecting it to be him. An agitated Yamcha shakes his head carelessly, and Bulma reveals that she is married to Vegeta and gave birth to their son, trunks! It takes moments before the shocking news can sink in to everyone. Bulma says that Vegeta isn't going to come until he masters the Super Saiyan form! Gohan and Krillin make faces to Trunks and make him laugh. Suddenly, Yajirobe arrives in a ship and hands them a bag of senzu beans supplied by Korin. They ask Yajirobe to fight with them, but he immediately declines the offer and drives off in his ship. But, the ship explodes and falls to the ocean! In the distance, looking over at the horizon, are the Androids. But they are so far away the Z gang cannot identify them or see what they look like. The two androids teleport into the city, and walk around in a disguise. Gohan goes to retrieve Yajirobe, while the Z gang search for the two vicious androids. Gohan returns Yajirobe to the mountain range where Bulma and Baby Trunks are. They hand him a senzu bean. Gohan leaves Bulma, Yajirobe and Trunks at the mountain range and he too begins searching for the androids. The androids look around and walk along the roads. A few cars beep at them rudely and ask them to get off, so Android 20, the old man with white hair and crinkly skin walks up to the driver and rips the motor out so the car can't move, and lifts the car through the roof of the car and drops him. Android 19, the circular, chubby one with a high voice and Android 20 keep a low profile in the air. They spot Yamcha, who is the only person with a rather high power level in that area walking lonely and wondrously into their territory. They drop down to the ground and Yamcha asks them if they have seen any androids around. Android 20 says funnily, ''we are them'' and he grabs Yamcha by the mouth, screening his screams so any other bystander can't hear him. Meanwhile, a car tries to put on his brakes when he nearly runs Yamcha and Android 20 over, but is able to drive off course and he accidentaly drives into a gas station, causing a fire to surround the androids and Yamcha. The fire alerts the others. Android 20 punches a hole through yamcha's stomach and drains the life force from him. Will the Z warriors arrive in time to rescue their friend?

Goku and his friends arrive, and Goku runs at Android 20 and punches him right in the face, knocking his hat off. Goku tells Gohan to give Yamcha a senzu bean. So Gohan picks Yamcha's unconscious body up and sets off towards the Mountain Range where the bag of senzu beans are. Android 20 wants the battlefield to be remote and lifeless so he begins to trash the buildings with his eye lasers. Goku, deciding that fighting in the city will just get in the way of the battle, flies off towards a nearby island. The Z gang follow him, and the androids follow the Z gang. The androids pick an island covered with rocks as a unique battlefield, and everyone except Piccolo agree. Piccolo thinks the rocks are a disadvantage, since the Androids could hide there and it would be hard to find them since you cannot sense an android. But Piccolo is outnumbered and everyone lands on the island. Before they begin battle, Goku asks for an explanation about how all of this started. Android 20 says that these past years, he send a mechanical bug out to extract information about Goku for years and years. The bug returned with data about all of his attacks and techniques including the Kamehameha wave attack. With this information, Android 20 created Android 19 and Android 19 made Android 20, who was a human at the time an android also. The androids knew every move Goku had up his sleeve. But from the Saiyan Saga on, Android 20 stopped tracking information about Goku because he thought that it was enough information already. This meant that they didn't know Goku is a Super Saiyan. Piccolo laughs and says, ''I bet you don't know that he's a Super Saiyan.'' Goku turns Super Saiyan and charges at the two androids, but they don't seem to be afraid. Meanwhile, Yamcha, who is fully healed and energized arrives with Gohan at the battlefield. This is what they trained for: the battle with the two androids!

Goku begins to breathe harder and harder. Sooner, he notices that he's heart disease that Trunks warned him about is beginning to take effect. Just when Goku was in control, he began to lose energy quickly. The tables turned as Android 19 launched a furious retaliatory attack on Goku. The helpless saiyan was absolutely battered around by Android 19. Soon, Android 19 pins Goku to the ground and places his hand on the injured saiyan's chest, absorbing his energy and increasing his own in the process. Soon, Goku's life force was drained completely as Android 19 laughed harshly and maliciously. But Android 19 is suddenly flung from his position on to the ground. It seems he was kicked. In the distance, Vegeta is seen, smirking with his arms crossed. Vegeta looks at Goku and tells him after he takes care of the androids, Goku will be next. He kicks Goku carelessly across to Yamcha, and Goku screams and screams as he slowly dies. But he receives a senzu and Yamcha picks him up gently and begins to fly towards Chi-Chi's house, which is where the antidote that can cure the disease is kept. Can Yamcha make it to Goku's house before our hero deceases? Meanwhile, the confident Vegeta lets everyone in on a little secret: he is a Super Saiyan, and this time he is not bluffing!

Vegeta tells them that while he was in the Capsule ship trying to master the Super Saiyan form during the three years of training, he became so angry and infuriated that he wasn't a Super Saiyan, that he blew up the ship and travelled into space to train. While he was training there, multiple meteorites began to soar towards him. This was extremeley tough trying to evade them, but when the mother of all meteorites came, it was more than he could handle! When he knew his doom was soon, he didn't care about his duties, he didn't care about Bulma or being better than Kakarot, all he cared about was to get out of the mess alive. When he was overpowered by the meteorite, he became so enraged that he turned into a Super Saiyan. It was the desperation and anger in failing to become a Super Saiyan which was the cause of his Super Saiyan transformation. To prove he really is the legend, he transforms into a Super Saiyan at will. Now that Goku is gone, can Vegeta replace him and defeat the two androids? Or will Android 19 be too strong for Vegeta, putting into consideration that he absorbed all of Goku's energy. The fight kicks off with Android 19 making the first move. Vegeta just stands there, blocking all of Android 19's move. Android 19 somehow gets a hold of Vegeta and drains some energy, until Vegeta rips Android 19's hand off. Handless, Android 19 runs off in fright. But Vegeta charges up a Big Bang Attack, and fires it at Android 19. The blast dissipates and covers a wide distance, killing Android 19. The only remains of Android 19 is his head which rolls down hill. Android 20 knows from observation that he will not stand a chance against Vegeta!128. Goku's double shock!!
