// Gotta catch-em all...
|
Pokemon also known as pocket monsters are
creatures that are found in the pokemon world. They can be
captured in pokeballs and used for battles, or they can be
kept as pets. Ash Ketchum is a pokemon trainer that hopes to
be the best. He journeys throughout the pokemon world battling
with other trainers and is accompanied by his two companions,
Misty and Brock.

Pokemon is actually one of the first anime that deals
with capturing a monster and battling with them. And then came
other similar series such as Digimon, Medabots, Monster
Rancher and some others. Since they were the first, this would
make them original and unique. The game certainly is very fun,
and the series is good. The idea of pokemon, trainers, the
league, all very good ideas. Pokemon though is targeted for
children therefore some people might not even consider this an
anime. But you can't deny that it really is.
The animations of pokemon are somewhat good. Each pokemon has
their own unique attack and are animated quite good. But
sometimes the animation gets a little repetitive and sometimes
I believe they use one scene over and over. For example, they
make a scene of Pikachu in a blue background doing a
thundershock, this clip can be used over and over whenever
they need Pikachu to do this.
Sound effects are pretty nicely done. Each attack has its own
unique sound which is good. The music of Pokemon is very
catchy. There is even a Pokerap at the end of each show which
was icing on the cake but it gets annoying after a while.
The characters in Pokemon would be their high point. There is
always a new character in each show. Either a new trainer or a
new Pokemon. The characters are drawn pretty good and each
Pokemon has its own unique looks.
