Dear Dragon Ball and Anime Colleagues, Before I go further, please visit the Url below. I think you will find it interesting. http://members.tripod.com/anti_duck/ Now that you've seen the facts, let me begin the true purpose of this essay, I must let you know that I am forced to do this not to defend my actions, but to protect myself from a psycho. Actually I'm a little flattered to have someone stalking me (makes me feel like a Celebrity). It appears Brian Real (a.k.a. The Duck) feels it's his duty to stalk and harass me. While I am impressed with his interest in me, I'm not that kind of guy. Just back off and leave me alone. I don't want to read anymore of your psychotic messages. Now that that's done, let me tell you why I decided to finally speak out. I never really intended this be a topic of discussion. I was just sick and tired of the whole situation and felt that the people Brian personally sought out for FUNimation's wrath deserved an explanation as to why they were targeted by FUNimation in the first place. The original email I sent showing them the evidence of Brian's deed was for them. I never felt it was necessary to share it with the general DB public. Nevertheless, Brian got a hold of it and felt it was his duty to share it with everyone and thus through his actions confirmed the validity of the document. And because of his harassment I must reveal the actions that led me up to this point and why I believe it was the right thing to do. Without further ado I present "Toriyama.Org, Fansubs, FUNimation, and Mr. Quackers". Toriyama.Org, Fansubs, FUNimation and Mr. Quackers Why the title? The title represents all the players involved in this drama. As you can see, the fabulous site of Toriyama.org became involved in this "FUNimation versus Fansubs" travesty thanks to the efforts of Mr. Quackers (Brian Real). The fact that Mr. Quackers used Toriyama.org for his own personal gains is the real reason I revealed his treachery. This angered me more than anything else. Personally, if it had been FUNimation themselves that went after fansub distributors, I would have agreed with their actions. After all, it is their property. They are allowed to protect it even if it seems absurd for a corporation to go after some 15-year-old kid trying to make a few extra bucks for lunch money. The problem was that Mr. Quackers felt it was his duty to personally help FUNimation shut down these sites in the hopes that FUNimation would reward him. Again, if Mr. Quackers wanted to do this on his own, I wouldn't be so upset. What you do individually is your prerogative; the problem was he used Toriyama.org as the "launching point" for his self-promoting act. Toriyama.org's purpose was not to help FUNimation, but was to provide an entertaining and informative site about the man Akira Toriyama and his works. Instead, Mr. Quackers felt he could use the " fan friendly" site as FUNimation's ugly K-9 unit designed to sniff-out and turn in anti-FUNimation sites. What angered me even more was that he "conveniently" kept other members in the dark about what he was going to do until after he had done it. Even worse was when a certain member told me he started to be bombarded with hate messages when he still had no idea what was going on. Then again what does Mr. Quackers care? He does things for his own personal glory. So if he steps on a few people along the way it doesn't really bother him. All I did was quell the rumors and suspicions everyone had concerning the shutting down of fansub distributors by FUNimation and Mr. Quackers' involvement. I offered the facts plain and simple. I wasn't the one who leaked the rumor in the first place, only the one who made the rumor become the truth. Which brings up an interesting point. Obviously I'm not the only one who was upset by his actions. It's true that only a handful of people knew about that document. Therefore, while no one else had the guts or courage to reveal what needed to be revealed (even if it meant that Mr. Quackers would never speak to them again), they still showed their disapproval by sharing it with one person, and that person shared it with another, etc. Thus a rumor was born. So perhaps the way I went about revealing what Brian did was not the best or most subtle way to have handled the situation. Nevertheless, it has been done. I can't take it back. This is my final statement. Thank you for your time. Respectfully yours, Adrian Saavedra (formerly Garban84) PS Just to let you know I've had this Hotmail account for over a year now. So it's not like I was trying to come up with some secret account to avoid Brian Real. I just felt it was better to use this account since I've never fully used it. It was just easier and more convenient to use. I really wanted to write something earlier, but I left town on Wednesday and didn't return till late Sunday. By the time I returned, I had already received numerous psycho emails from Brian Real, therefore altering what I initially intended to say.
