Episodes 61-64

Episode 61

In the first picture, you can see the amazing jumping towel that covers Gokou's posterior end isn't there, and then there's a happy little shot of Vegita flipping the bird. The last shot needs some explaining. In the original version, Vegita thought that it was Gokou who was in the Saichourou's hut, when in fact it was Gohan. That's why he looked so amazed when Gohan walked out. Why did FUNimation make that change? I have no clue.

Episode 62

Nothing as far as content was removed from this episode. But the speech was of course messed around with, as usual.

Episode 63

Good golly! Even the weather in American and Japanese DBZ is different! I mean just look at these first couple of shots! The sky in the American version had several mysterious tiny accumulations of clouds, that formed around Gohan and Kuririn, but it looks like there were clear skies that day in the Japanese version!

And last but not least, the pictures you've been waiting for, the true death of Gurudo!

Episode 64

Ah, finally some great fight screens! As you can see, that mysterious substance called blood is once again present.

As a side note, I would just like to say how dumb FUNimation made Reekuumu! He was actually intelligent in the Japanese version, he was just VERY cocky, and acted goofy. The names of his attacks are also messed up. The attack he nearly killed Vegita with is really called Eraser Gun. FUNimation also made up names for attacks that weren't even given names in the Japanese version. And there are two things about him which are unforgiveable.

1. "My name is Recoom it rhymes with doom, and you'll be hurting all to soon.".

2. "Recoom Suma Kuma Booma.". (Or something along those lines) That attack is really called Reekuumu Bomb.

Why did FUNimation put these STUPID words into his mouth? It just makes him look like a moron.

Take note of the second to last picture. I LOVE how the Ginyu Tokusentai make fun of Vegita. They do it all the time! In that picture, Baata calls Vegita, "Vegita chan". The word "chan" in Japanese is an affectionate term used for little girls. So you would call your little sister, "Rachel chan.", or "Becky chan.", but Baata calls a grown man "chan" and it drives Vegita nuts. It's so funny to watch the Ginyu Tokusentai mock him, they all do it so well!
