- Dragon Ball Perfect edition?
•I was emailed about a revision of the Dragon Ball mangas that were originally released in Japan. The re-edited mangas will be "perfect", meaning all errors will be removed and images will be re-drawn that were previously published on the originals. In addition, the new mangas will have new pages never before added (i'm thinking to correct all those questions that were left un-answered). According to ZG, all the revised mangas will have a new cover drawn by Akira Toriyama. As of now, only 2 of these "perfect" Dragon Ball mangas were released in japan. The following 2 mangas will be released sometime in January of 2003. Here are the 4 covers of the first 4 mangas:

I have just added a Budokai large capsule section which lists all of the characters capsules, their price, rarity, everything!

- Budokai Commercials and Game Demo
•Well, I got this E-mail at 2am lol, so as you can tell I'm tired and I'm not gonna say much, so here it is:
"So you say it's been almost a week since you saw the luxurious pillows on your bed? Me too. Sleep is for those that sit in that stands of the Budokai- not those in the arena.
First off- this week premieres four all new DBZ: Budokai commercials.
Now, anyone that watches their fair share of TV has probably seen their fair share of commercials. Anyone that has played their fair share of games has seen gameplay commercials too.
Here's what make the DBZ: Budokai one special:
there are four different flavors of the commercial on the air. One commercial has SEVENTY cuts. That means that they crammed a piece of the action into less than half a second, then brought on another. Just calling it "intense" is like saying that last week's leftover turkey makes you feel "sleepy"
saw the commercial
late on Comedy Central
too many cuts aired
watching toonami
I see goku hit krillin
piccolo laughs loud
Here's the translation:
Comedy Central
10 spots from 3-7 p.m.
Cartoon Network's Toonami Block
12 spots from 4-7 p.m.
For any of you that haven't yet had the chance to play the game, there will be a demo in Official Playstation Magazine- which hit newsstands this afternoon.
Speaking of magazines, be sure to check out GameNow-- they have named DBZ Budokai the #1 hottest game for January, ahead of such luminaries as "Star Wars: An Empire Divided," "Devil May Cry 2," and "War of the Monsters." GameNow loves the graphics, the gameplay, and all the goodies, saying, "If you've been dying to put the hurt on Cell or Frieza, you should be drooling by now." GameNow added, "Before we got our hands on this game, we would've said, 'Yes, you'd better worry.' Previous DBZ games have been sluggish and sloppy. But Budokai takes the series on an upward swing with fast, responsive fighting action and well-made characters."
Sounds like a pretty good review, huh? I think you might be able to do even better. Send me your review of the game and we'll put some of the choicest cuts in the next newsletter.
Now- before I leave you to your own devices, our friend Chris Lundeen has some deeper points for us to learn on strategy-- who better to teach you the game than one of the production team?
Looking more closely at the capsules, reveals a deeper strategy to DBZ Budokai. I found that after creating my own skill list for my character that it became easier to take first prize in World Tournament Mode. For example, when I used trunks I would use his Super Saiyan, Super Trunks, Buster Cannon, Rapid Fall Slash (important since it is his grapple move), Blast Attack, 1/3 Senzu Bean, and Meteor Break. If I was losing matches due to loss of health, not due to being knocked out of the ring, then I would alter it by using the Viral Heart Disease and Vaccine in place of 1/3 Senzu Bean, Blast Attack, and Meteor Break. The reason for this is the Viral Heart Disease capsule will deplete the health of the two opponents until ones health reaches zero. Now, that doesn't seem like an advantage since your losing health just as fast as your opponent. That's where the Vaccine capsule comes in to play.
Having that capsule as well will prevent your health from depleting while your opponent must rush to beat you before their health reaches zero. All you need to do is get in a few punches and stay away from them as much as possible while the Viral Heart Disease capsule does all the work.
Some of the other capsules mention above, like the 1/3 Senzu Bean, recovers 1/3 of your health when it reaches zero. Having the Super Saiyan and Super Trunks capsules give you more power in your punch. By transforming during combat to Super Saiyan, the same combo you performed in your normal state will do more damage in your heightened form. Buster cannon is an energy combo while Blast Attack and Meteor Break are physical attack combos. Rapid Fall Slash, as explained above, is a grapple move. It is important when your in close and your enemy keeps blocking everything. A grapple cannot be blocked, only dodged.
-Chris Lundeen
Thanks Chris!
That's all for today- get those reviews in!

- Crossfire Awards/Animation Cels...
•I just re-organized all of the animation cels and added new ones to the following sections: Android 18, Chi-Chi, Frieza's Goons, Master Roshi, and Tien.
The Crossfire Awards have opened again this year for their second annuals. So if you could, nominate us for anything you feel our site(or any of the staff) fits into. Your time would be very appreciated. I don't normally ask anyone to vote(or nominate in this case) for us in anything but there's a first time for everything.

- Stuff...
•IF Labs Charity Auction ended with the winning bid at $2075! The winner's name is Jamal (no last name lol), from Biloxi, MS. I guess out in the middle of nowhere you really have nothing else to spend money on lol...but hey, it's all for chairty.
In more Budokai news, more previews and reviews are on the way. Electronic Gaming Monthly, PSM, and Game Informer are featuring previews for Budokai in their new issues, and will be followed by reviews in their next issues. So far, early reviews for the game have been fair, but nothing outstanding. It seems this game will be another average product on store shelves for everyone but anime fans.

- Budokai's Site Opening Tomorrow
•Yeah, not much news to report lately. But, I got tired of looking at my last post, so I went looking around for something to report. Anyways, I checked out the Budokai site again to see if it was open, and a new date has been posted. The site will open tomorrow. Here's a link: Official Budokai Site. Obviously the 4th would be the only logical date for its opening, so I guess those guys used their heads lol.
Also, just a couple reminders. This Friday, if you're lucky enough to be in New York City, you can go see the creator of DBZ, Akira Toriyama, face to face. This is said to be the greatest DBZ event in the U.S. to date, supposedly. Meanwhile, Dragonball Z: Budokai will release in the U.S. tomorrow.
UPDATE: New statistics poll..

- GameSpot's Videos Up For Grabs/Official Budokai Site Discovered
•Well, most of you have heard about GameSpot's new Budokai videos, but when you've tried to download them, you can't because you didn't pay for membership. Well, DreamDBZ has come through for us all by offering all 6 videos for free. I'm too lazy to post links to the 6 download options, so here's a link to the site: DreamDBZ. DBZonPS2.com has also made these videos available, and are of lesser quality (which is good for those of you who want smaller files), and you can find them in the video section. So here's a link to them too: DBZ on PS2.
Also, DreamDBZ has reported the existence of an official site for Budokai. The URL can be found on the back on the Budokai box, and here's a link:
Official Budokai Site.
Unfortunately, the site was supposed to open yesterday and still hasn't lol. But I'm guessing it'll open soon, so keep checking back there.

- Budokai release today
•Dbz Budokai was released in the UK today and i went straight to the shop and paid around $70 for it and so far i am not dissapointed.
Ive only played story mode so far but this is how it works in story mode (the game follows the story line ever so well with awesome cut scenes):
You go through story mode as Goku and you battle everyone that goku battles, although the game does switch to other characters sometimes when Goku cannot participate. It goes: Cut scene, battle, cut scene, battle, etc, but you do some training in the spaceship on the way to Namek (blocking vegetas Ki's, blocking attacks etc), and as you go through story mode, every character you beat, you earn for the duel mode (one on one battle), but you start off with a base of 5 characters (Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Tien, Krillin). You also gain skills, attacks and you definately can to super saiyan.
You cannot make your own characters but you can customise your moves (i haven't explored this part yet).
World Tournament:
You have to try to get to the final and win to make a large amount of zenni. It starts of with 8 competitors and you have to knock each other out of the ring or KO them and procede to the next level. If you are runner up you get 5000 zenni if you win it 10,000 zenni.
You dont get money if you finish anywhere else and there are no continues.
Now i see why story mode was so small! (At first) I thought once you complete story mode with goku, thats it, but after that you can be different characters and complete the story mode as different characters.
Skill shop:
2000 zenni for a ki move, 2000 zenni for an item, 2000 for a non-ki move, 3000 to get a random move thats usually always new, 1000 to get a recommended move.
Theres something that you can unlock but i dont think i should release its name as there will be no secrets but it allows you to do a few tasks and submit your score online (i am not gonna give the url out :D).
Mr. Satan is awesome! He has this great move which is one of the best in the game, it's called "present for you".
Theres a choice of 3 arenas in duel mode, 8 arenas after you complete story mode with goku, im not sure if more can be unlocked.
Money well spent!!!!!!!
I'll post more when i get it!

Also, immediately after this super-block, Boomeraction and Superfriends will air.
Oh, yeah. Super Saturday will be gone on January 11 as well. Thank goodness!
In some other news, the Adult Swim weeknight schedule has been revised. It appears that Yuyu Hakusho hasn't been canned after all. Woohoo! Also, a couple of surprises (one you knew about for some time, and the other one you never thought would come to Adult Swim) are on the way! And it'll still be 3 hours long. (Whew! Thank goodness!) Here's the new schedule.

Thanks to SzR for the tip off. Saiyanz-Rage
Now, here's the scoop on the how the DB's will work in Budokai...
"Using the Dragon Balls
What would a Dragon Ball Z game be without collecting the Dragon Balls and calling upon Shenron to grant a wish? In Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, you have the opportunity to do just that! You collect the Dragon Balls in two ways. The first is by going through the various chapters in Story Mode. Capsules are awarded after successfully completing a chapter and you may be lucky enough to get a Dragon Ball every now and then. The other way is to purchase them from Mr. Popo's Skill Shop. After winning some Zenie in the World Tournament (by placing either first or second), you can purchase capsules from Mr. Popo.
The key to getting the Dragon Balls is to look at the cost of the Recommended capsule. Dragon Balls cost 8000 Zenie, so if the cost is different, exit the Skill Shop, and then reenter it right away. The Recommended capsule will be different. Keep doing this until you have all seven Dragon Balls.
Once you have all seven Dragon Balls, go to the Skill List and scroll to the Dragon Balls. Press the X button. You will be asked if you intend to call up Shenron. Select Yes to call him. Shenron appears and gives you the option to select one of three Breakthrough capsules. A Breakthrough capsule gives you the ability to use all of a character's skills. For a character like Trunks, that means instead of having only 7 skill slots to customize your character, you get twelve!!!"
Thanks to Jason at Infrogames
Sadly, I'm a little dissapointed in the whole wishes thing...it could have been a lot better. Gaining skills isn't much to brag about. It would have been cool if you could wish for hidden characters, new transformations, weapons, or even to create your own character. But oh well, nothin' we can do about it.
You can also find 6 new vids and some new screen shots on GameSpot.

- Poll Update! (about time too)/Akira in New York..
•The results to our over runned trivia poll(What power level was Gohan's strongest attack against Nappa?) are in. Less than half(40.35 %) of the visitors who voted got it right, the answer was 3000. The next poll questions are to gain statistics on our visitors to help improve the site. I will finally have time to add an update or two this thanksgiving holiday, my school(U.C.Irvine) has been really demanding and haven't had time to do much of anything.
Here's the word from DBZGTLegacy.com:
Steve from KH.com sent me this
" ... on December 6, in New York City, get ready for the Shonen Jump America Launch Party, an event so unbelievably awesome in its scope that there will NEVER be another one like it!!!
So why will it be soooooo cool … the original creator of Dragon Ball Z is coming over from Japan…Akira Toriyama himself!!!!! Reportedly it has been years since has left Japan. Can you possibly think of anything more cool ......"
This is the MUST ATTEND event for DBZ of all time!!! If you live in NYC, you better not miss this! Head to www.dbzcardgame.com for more information.

- Another Budokai Poster
•Yup, there's another, but not where you're thinking. Yes, the "real" poster will be included with U.S. versions of Budokai, but if you get your hands on a december issue of PSM, you'll find a nice surprise. A poster featuring 4 of your favorite characters, a catchy little phrase, and some totally awesome never-before-seen screenshots of the game. Unfortunately I'm cheap and don't own a scanner lol, so no pics, sorry guys. And I have to say that I'm pissed because it had the poster, but nothing included in the demo disc >.<, nor in the magazine itself...I mean come on people, how could they not even mention DBZ in the magazine when they had a huge poster in the middle of it? Lol. Anyways, don't go buy this if you want more than just something to hang on your wall.

- Greatest DBZ Event Ever!
•Check this out:
"There have been many, many super cool DBZ events in the past, but do you know about the grand daddy of ALL DBZ EVENTS? Well, on December 6, in New York City, get ready for the Shonen Jump America Launch Party, an event so unbelievably awesome in its scope that there will NEVER be another one like it!!!
So why will it be soooooo cool, and just what is this Shonen Jump we’re talking about? First, the reason that this event is ultra unique is this…the original creator of Dragon Ball Z is coming over from Japan…Akira Toriyama himself!!!!! Reportedly it has been years since has left Japan. Can you possibly think of anything more cool than the creator of Goku, Vegeta and the rest of Z-Warriors in attendance at this event? You honestly could not expect more of ANY event associated with Dragon Ball Z!!! All we can say is Wow! Double Wow! Triple Wow!
Second, Shonen Jump is one of the most popular and well-known Mangas (where the story of DBZ came from before the animated show) in Japan. It’s absolutely huge. Well, this big blowout will celebrate the launch of this very cool publication in America and give a warm “Welcome” to the cool folks at Shonen Jump. In fact, they are running a special promotion. For only $19.95 you can get a one-year, 12-issue subscription! When you consider that the news stand price is $4.95, that’s like saying, “Buy 4, get 8 free!”
And joining in on the fun will be Score Entertainment (the Hummer will be there!), Infogrames – the makers of the DBZ GBA games as well as the upcoming DBZ Budokai, Irwin Toys, the makers of the cool line of DBZ action figures, Viz Communications who produces Shonen Jump and Shueisha the parent company for all things DBZ, as well as our friends at FUNimation Studios!
Now you might wonder, where will it be and when? Here it is:
Friday, December 6, 2002
2:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Chelsea Piers
New York, NY 10011
We will be utilizing the MAIN TENT on CHELSEA PIERS, next to the Skate Park. The MAIN TENT is 4,000 square feet with outer walls at 9-feet and the center of the tent is 14-feet.
Sooo…It is going to be a day filled with DBZ superstars and fun! And Score Entertainment needs your help! We are looking for 60 die-hard fans to help us out with this event by volunteering and becoming a sort of Saiyan for the Day. Besides getting to go to THE Dragon Ball Z event of the century, you will also earn a CCPP II and more. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and it will be on a first come, first serve basis. To register, click here to download the PDF and fax it back to us soon!
We are not kidding when we say that this event is the most perfect sparkling diamond of all DBZ events, ever. The question is, will you be there?"

- More Budokai Secrets?
•Well people, nothing official, but I finally spent sometime looking at screenshots of the game and noticed some wierd things.
1- Only 21 character openings are in the player selection screen, but 23 characters are supposed to exist. could there be more hidden characters?
2- If you drop by www.dbzonps2.com and browse through some of the more recent screenshots, you'll notice some wierd things. The one comparison I found that really sparked my curiosity were 2 of the new daily screen shots, which both featured Piccolo. Oddly enough, one of the Piccolo's had a different outfit on (which is captioned by dbzonPS2.com as looking suspiciously like Nail). But, if you look closer at the stats at the top of the screen shots, you'll notice differences in the facial expressions of the two Piccolo's. Perhaps it's some sort of glitch or something, but who knows.
3- Click here. You'll see a screenshot containing a pic of SSJ2 Vegeta and Goku fighting...which occurs after the Cell games. Now I'd love to know why that has been included in the game. The game is supposed to conclude at the end of the Cell Games. They've already pointed out that Saiyaman and Spopovich are in this game, and that saiyans may even go SSJ2...but it seems wierd that there is now the possibility of having 4 characters from post-Cell Games DBZ included in the game. Maybe they'll take it all the way through the series and have just kept their lips shut very tightly lol.
Anyways, this conspiracy crap I've just explained is probably total BS, but hey, maybe I'll get lucky and hit that 1/1,000,000 chance of being right about this stuff. Just thought you guys might be interested. Besides, every question we have about the game will be answered in just 2 weeks ^_^

- Revenge is sweet!
•I'm not sure if you've read this yet and I see no one else posted this, plus that this is the first time I have been on in about a week. Apparently, the guy who cut Toonami's time down last year is getting fired. Or lets just say he's in big trouble. Heres the story...
Jamie Kellner is due for a big payday.
The chairman of AOL Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting division is to get roughly $65 million from the company next year for his stake in the WB television network, The Post has learned.
The expected payout is fueling speculation among insiders that Kellner will take the money and run - or get the boot. But Kellner and AOL Time Warner deny it.
Kellner, along with Time Warner and the Tribune Company, formed the WB Network in 1995. The exec personally owns about 11 percent of the company, and AOL Time Warner is obligated to buy out Kellner's stake next year. Read full story...

- Budokai Producer Live Interview
•Chris Lundeen, associate producer of Budokai, did a live interview with GameSpot.com and gives some insight on the game. Of course for a good portion of it he talks about stuff we already know, but he does reveal a few interesting facts such as how money is awarded, how the capsules work, and a couple other things. There were two major things that caught my attention:
1- A player may collect an entire set of DB's, and once he gets all seven, the player may wish for something from Shenron.
2- Saiyans will not only be able to transform into Super Saiyans, they will also have the ability to go Super Saiyan 2.
If you want to check out the video, then click here.
Also, a few other things. Infrogames has stated that each character's original VA will be dubbing...so does this mean Infrogames sought out the old VA's from Pioneer? Who knows.
Finally, I just thought of a fun little idea that some of you may find interesting. I think it would be a great asset to Infrogames if they actually hired average fans like us to work on upcoming games, but we all know that's not gonna happen. Well, they do actually visit sites like this for pointers on how to design their games, so why not help them make a game the way you want it done? So, if you've got an idea for a DBZ game or just some concepts, send it to me and it will be put on the site later. Then everyone will have a chance to see what you've come up with.

- Budokai Will Release Early!
•Infrogames has announced that Dragonball Z: Budokai will be released early in the U.S. on December 4th, which is almost 2 weeks early! This info is straight from dragonballz.com, it's definitely official. There was something a bit odd though, the first time I went to the site, the news was there, but after that the old ad saying "check back tomorrow" was there. So I dunno, it might just be a glitch. But everyone I asked to check the site got the old pop up...wierd.
Anyways, nothing else is really going on, no word on movie 7. I think there might be some sort of surprise with this one, because FUNi is really keeping a tight lip on its production.

- New Humor, Script Update
•Frank has made an awesome pic where you have to count the amount of black dots on the picture ;). Click here to see
I have upgraded the image gallery script which has become pretty popular! I have seen alot of webmasters using it recently although some of you prefer to take the copyright off... please leave it on, so others can know what script it is. Any way, with the new script you can now search all the directories in your images folder, a few bugs fixed and a few features added.
Click here to download Image Gallery V3.2
Just really posting to move zero's post down, it was starting to gather cobwebs.
Update: The RPG v2.0 is in the works again, i've decided to bring it back so we began working on some bug fixes and more characters. It will be Anime Based(don't worry you can still pick DragonBall Characters) so FUNimation doesn't complain. A lot of the PHP will be updated to fix all the problems we had on v1.0
Now that I have access to the modify account page I re-added our supertop100.com button. -fRaNk

- GamePro Goes Budokai
•I just received this month's issue of GamePro, and I had to open it as soon as I saw it due to the awesome cover: Goku about to nail Frieza in the face! So, I got to the feature section and read through a 3-page article about the game. Aside from some new, and very sweet screen shots, the article settles a few rumors and nagging questions that have been floating around.
It opened with, of course, what motivated the production of new DBZ games: the drewling millions who watch DBZ daily, especially those who were craving something more after the oddly popular, video game failure Dragonball GT: Final Bout.
Later, in a section called The Ki To Success (lol, clever), the game is basically described to have a fighting style "similar to that of Virtua Fighter or Street Fighter"-Chris Lundeen, associate producer of Budokai. Then it basically goes into details about the techniques and moves that we pretty much know everything about already.
Following this comes a section with yet another witty title: Take Your Piccolo. And it goes into an in-depth explanation of how Budokai has been designed to satisfy three audiences: young fans (little kids), older fans (typical college dorks and older), and finally non-anime lovers who are just looking for a good game. This game, unlike the previous two DBZ releases for GBA, will be focused on all audiences, rather than just children. Basically, the brute fighting will appeal to all audiences, while character development, story lines, and famous techniques will help die-hard older DBZ fans integrate with the game to a greater extent. DBZ was even described as a soap opera during the article lol, and that is why the series has such a wide range of age groups watching it.
After that, game controls. No, it won't be difficult to pull off outstanding combos and finishing moves. Meanwhile, players have the option of having the one and only Mr. Popo assist them in purchasing skill capsules. So, you'll be guided through character developement too.
Finally, the article discusses the base for Budokai, which is everyone's favorite crappy game --- Dragonball GT: Final Bout. This game, according to the writer, Four-Eyed Dragon, had an excellent concept, but the PS1 simply did not have the capability of supporting all of the necessary components. So, what we got was a game that was falling apart before it even hit shelves. But now, thanks to the PS2's superiority, the game has been built to the standards that DBGT: FB had been expected of.
Anyways, in my own opinion, this article certainly opened my eyes, and I suggest all of you find some way to read it (sorry, but I'm too lazy to type 3 pages of stuff for you guys lol). It connected alot of points together that helped me make sense of all the things we've been hearing about the game. And WOW, I have to emphasize the incredible graphics...the article displayed several screen shots that very accurately resembled scenes from the actual series...absolutely incredible 3-D animation. Now then...for some Q's and A's:
Why is Budokai only coming to the PS2?
-Only 2 of the 3 systems can support the engine used to run the game: PS2 and Gamecube. And most of Gamecube's users are young children, and Gamecube makes up a very small percentage of the consoles in American households, so production was only focused on the PS2.
I heard rumors that there will be hidden characters like Goten, Chibi Trunks, and Cell Jr. Are there?
-Well, yes and no. In the article, it mentioned Cell Jr. is a character in the game, but it dosen't specify if he will be playable, or if he'll only be computer-controlled in story mode. I did see a pic of the character selection panel with a character that looks alot like Goten, but I'm guessing it was actually Goku lol.
I've heard some rumors that the game developers added online play at the last minute. So, what's the real answer?
-No, online play will not be an option. Sadly, the game began developing over 2 years ago, when online play was just a pipe dream. And now it is too late to go back and reformat the entire game to introduce multi-console play.
Are more DBZ games currently in production?
-Not sure if they are in production, but Mike Cucciarella (producer of all of the current DBZ games) enthusiastically stated that many more games are on the way. So I am fairly confident that we'll hear about a new game within the next 6 months. He also pointed out that he checks message boards and major gaming and anime sites (like this one) for feedback, info, and concepts on how to improve upcoming games.
Can you fly in the game?
-In a sense, but overall not really. If your opponent hits you in an upward direction, you will go into the air, then slowly float back to the ground, but your opponent may dart at you in the air to continue fighting.
Since the game is totally in 3-D, will the graphics suffer?
-No, as already indicated, Budokai can basically be seen as THE improvement on Dragonball GT: Final Bout, and all of the problems have been fixed, including the graphics.
How closely related is the game to the actual series?
-Well, it covers all of the sagas from the arrival of Radditz to just after the Cell games at the WMA with Saiyaman and Spopovich of course. Meanwhile, the original FUNi voice actors have returned to dub their characters, plus original sound effects from the show. Also...clips from the actual show will be included, so you won't just see 3-D immitations of events from the series.
I hope this answered many of your questions, and if you have anymore, E-mail me or post a comment. Hopefully I can answer them with help from the article or from info I have gathered elsewhere.

- More on the Anime Channel for USA
•"We spoke with ADV Films marketing director Ken Wiatrik today to get answers about the Anime Network, and while the company is being pretty tight lipped, we did get a few details.
While previous reports have been that the channel would probably be a pay channel and not basic cable, Wiatrik's feeling were different, "I don't know, but I would hope it would be basic cable. The purpose of this channel will be to expose people to programs and genres that they have not already been exposed to in the past."
What about the programming? Well, ADV's press release merely states "The Anime Network(tm) model is structured around four categorized content areas: Action Zone, Sci-Fi, Comedy Incorrect, and Horror/Martial Arts. These categories are designed to include virtually the entire spectrum of quality anime, while contextualizing content for new viewers unfamiliar with specific titles."
While Wiatrik wouldn't talk about non-ADV shows he did say that not all ADV shows would appear on the Anime Network, but they are looking at airing the following shows: Gunsmith Cats, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Getter Robo, Gasaraki and RahXephon. In fact, RahXephon will probably air on the Anime Network before it is released on DVD. "We will be premiering programs that have no shown in the past. RahXephon will be hopefully premiered on the Anime Network."

- PHP Tutorials added..
•I wrote a script earlier today that I thought would be essential to many sites who now use PHP(not to mention I wanted to show it off). This script allows you to have your own Custom 404 Page without using .htaccess files! The other tutorial I added was a "how to make a cookie" using php. Check them out in the tutorials section. I also modified the "Making a default page" php tutorial so it does the exact same function with less coding.

- A 24HR All Anime Channel for USA...
•Here's what SzR emailed me:
"John Ledford announced that ADV has just made arrangements to have a 24 hour All anime Cable channel (for the USA). I was able to speak to David Williams in production and was told that they have not decided if this will be a pay channel or just a regular channel. They are leaning toward a pay channel because they do not want to air it edited, but they may have to..."

- Special Delivery...
•No, I'm not Mr. McFeely lol, but I've got some stuff for you guys. First, I've noticed many sites are having difficulty supporting all of the DBZ trailers due to their popularity, and thus bandwidth is maxed out. So I had another site I work on, Dream-DBZ, put the trailers on its media server. It includes the "big" trailer, which is about 9.2Mb whole (4.7Mb for each piece). Here is Part 1 and Part 2. It also has the Japanese Trailer, which many of you haven't seen yet.
-Dream-DBZ
Also, in some more news which may interest you greatly, the Z Store will soon release the first Frtuis Basket DVD. It will have 2 episodes and cost ONLY $1.99! But the best part of the whole deal is that along with the 2 episodes, you will get a preview of DragonballGT! I'm assuming many of you will buy it just for the preview lol.

- Another PS2 Game?
•Yes, I sniffed out a clue lol. I, like many of you, receive the infamous ClubZ newsletter. Well, I found a tiny, tiny portion of it that I almost overlooked. I read over the brief description of Chris Sabat, and well...see for yourself:
"Christopher Sabat has been a major force in direction of modern American anime dubbing. He has been the director on over four hundred episodes and movies on many popular shows, including Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball, Lupin III, Blue Gender and Yu Yu Hakusho. His voice work has also been heard on countless commercials, cartoons and video games, including Vegeta and Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z, Yamcha from Dragon Ball, and Kuwabara on Yu Yu Hakusho. You will also hear some of his voices on some upcoming PS2 releases."
Please take special notice to the last word "releases." It's plural, meaning more than one. And I seriously doubt the other animes Chris is working on are popular enough to come to the PS2. So, I'm sure we all have yet another DBZ PS2 game to look forward to. But I'll try to confirm this with some other dependable sources.
Oh yes, I'm the man. :)

•IF labs has created an SSJ3 Goku prototype figure that will go on aution at ebay and all proceeds will go to charity.
"On December 1, 2002 IF Labs will auction off an exclusive, original prototype of Super Saiyan 3 Goku straight from the IF Labs laboratory. In the spirit of the holiday season, the proceeds from the auction will go to various children's charities.
The decision to provide the prototype of Super Saiyan 3 Goku was initiated by fan requests for exclusive, original product from IF Labs. Super Saiyan 3 Goku is one of the most powerful characters in the Dragon Ball Z series and is one of our most sought-after figures."
Bet that will make a few hundred $$$ being an original prototype.

- Minor News
•VA Kent Williams recently informed me that FUNi has just finished movie #7, and production is on schedule - "I just dubbed Dr. Gero for a DBZ movie last week...he got his android head kicked off again. It had a little Mexican android and a redneck android in it. Don't know the number." Lol, that Kent, what a joker. Anyways, that quote not only brings a little piece of info on the movie's production, but also how little VA's are involved in FUNi's other production processes. I feel so comfortated now... >.>
Also, FUNi is now including Japanese DBZ collector's cards in some of their VHS/DVD's, mostly ones with older eps. This has been done to entice fans to buy less popular videos. Adding a bonus to the already lowered prices is FUNi's strategy to help cushion the sharp decline in video sales (the older ones, particularly those between the Frieza and Cell sagas).

- New Humor Section.
•Yes, as promised, I have delivered a new humor section, "I Met a DBZ Character!", and I think most, if not all of you will like it. Like I said before, I'm pretty busy, so I don't know how long it will be until I make/update other sections...probably not until next week. But this one should hold you over. It's basically some commentaries from people who supposedly met DBZ characters, and yes it's hilarious, as stated by several pals who proof read it. So go take a look. -Latz

- A Further Look Into The Upcoming Game...
•I've been noticing some negative attitudes developing toawrd the new DBZ PS2 game. I heard about this game quite some time ago, and I admit that I was a bit sceptic after seeing the screenshots. The only probable cause for the growth of some people's doubt in the game is the one that I had, which is the utter failure of the 1997 PS game DragonballGT: Final Bout. I own the english version of this game, and well, it sucks lol. The only reason why I still own it is due to the fact that it's quite rare...and valuable lol. But anyway, the game was completely 3-D (and made in '97, so graphical design skills for more advanced systems were still being developed), which was a big mistake. The movements were choppy, the environments looked terrible, and the special attack scenes weren't much to look at. Plus the sounds and voice acting stunk. But, many people seem to think that since this game is 3-D as well, it'll bomb. Obviously the PS2's abilities are far better than the original's, and on top of that, the sound is straight from the series, with voice actors and sound teams doing original and tailored work for the game. But, if you need further proof, I suggest checking out the latest official game trailer at dragonballz.com, I just took a look at some of the scenes from the game, and it looks awesome. This is the best trailer yet. I'm very excited, and this game will be on the top of my wish list for Christmas. If you haven't seen the trailer already, definitely go and take a look, the fight scenes are quick and smooth, and many of the features are stikingly similar to the show itself.
Sony recently announced its near future release of a PS2 VR headset that will allow users to have 360 degree views of a game they play. Several developers are working on games that will specifically work with the unit, while others plan to adapt current games. I wonder if they'll make the new DBZ game compatable with it. It would definitely be cool. Sadly, the unit probably won't sell much, with a hefty price of $500, only the rich and famous will snag this one.
Also, I'm currently working on a new humor section. I have midterms this week, and work is a bitch, so my schedule won't allow me time to finish it anytime within the next day or so, but it'll be up by the end of the week. -Latz

- First DBGT series ad?
•Here's the word from Mr. Buu from MajinVideos, "I just checked my mail and got an anime catalog and what did I see when I opened it? A Funimation ad with the logos of all the animes they dub and I saw the DBGT logo! So this means Funimation has started their advertising for DBGT which they say they will start dubbing as soon as they finish DBZ...[ Click here to view the ad ]"
Which brought to mind a news post I wanted to mention a few days ago but forgot. In the first DVD of Fruits Basket the DVD will contain a preview of Dragonball GT. You can see or order this DVD by clicking here.

We also got a new layout, it was designed for the sole purpose of making it easier to load on slower modems so don't be mad if you were expecting us to use extensive graphics. You can always use one of our previous versions to view the site in. If you don't automatically load the new layout you can choose it from the drop down box by selecting "version 8".

- Surely you jest......
•Greetings, you halfwits. In case you haven't figured it out, I'm Zero from Saiya-Force.com . I worked there for about a year, running a very successful humor section, which is the main reason why I'm here. My site will be closing in a few days, and I decided to continue my work elsewhere, so here I am. Unfortunately, I cannot continue many of my famous sections here (DBZ-related material only), but I'm sure I'll be able to come up with some new stuff, I'm quite talented. I've already got a few ideas in mind that I think you'll all like quite a bit, so hang tight. This won't be your average everyday humor crap, I'm the best, so you'll laugh your asses off. Of course, this is a highly respected site, so the quality of work you get from me won't have that certain trashy twist it usually has lol, but I'm developing a new style that should prove effective. And I'm also known as a rebel lol, so I'll try to bend some rules *winks*, but nothing to major, Frank lol. I will also be doing some reviews, posting community news, and probably a few other random things. That's about it, expect an update from me soon...

- Gone for awhile
•Okay, this post may seem somewhat usless but I thought i'd let you guys know that I wont be able to post for the next couple weeks due to a few things. 1. School. Basically midterms are coming up and I also have to worry about the school site and school newspaper. I have to layout page desings. 2. Me and my friend have been building computers and has been taking alot of my time. There are some other reasons for my absense, but rest assured, you know I will still be watching DBZ everyday. Dont worry (like you would :0), this is only temporary I just wanted to release the info. Peace out!

- A Good Not and a Bad Note
•Well I posted this last week but I guess i'll remind you so that this rpg wont get you down too much. Dragonball Z was and is rated the Number 1 show on all cable television. That makes me feel good because I'm a diehard DBZ fan. Plus, DBGT is still on its way so I'm excited.
The Bad Note. "©2002 BIRD STUDIO/SHUEISHA, TOEI ANIMATION. Licensed by FUNimation® Productions, Ltd. All Rights Reserved. Dragon Ball Z and all logos, character names and distinctive likenesses thereof are trademarks of TOEI ANIMATION." This means Funimation along with TOEI Animation are partners in the ownership of the DBZ characters and what happens to them is up to these two companies. We can't really do anything about the RPG or the site except hope that Funimation will be cool. All we can do is wait and hope...

- Regarding RPG... and site.
•I understand the server was running slow and it was due to the success of the rpg. The rpg has been closed. This may be temporarily and it may not, it has slowed down the site extensively and FUNimation is seeking to close us down. I will try to keep everyone posted on the latest. I have rebooted apache and cleared logs created by the game and the server is now running in top speed. Thanks for your support and patience.

- New to the Official DBZ Site..
•The Results came in for the official dragonballz website poll on how it should look and 56 % said they want a more flashier website, 21 % said they wanted a full on easy to load text website, and 23 % said they just like it how it is. The new poll is "What is your favorite area within dragonballz.com?" The answers to choose from are
characters, episodes, news, sagas, polls.
Also they have a form field saying, "What area would you like to see included on the new Dragonball Z website?" Answer:________________
Thanks to SSJGokutenks for emailing me about it.
Why all of this? the official dbz web site will undergo changes, most likely the result of each poll, so look out for that.

- DBZ on the Rise!
•Since the new season of Dragonball Z was released, DBZ has been the most popular show around. Heres the story from Business Wire...
Reflecting the success of the show during the week ending September 22 (as compared to the same time period last year), the press release stated that:
-- Dragon Ball Z was the #1 program of the week on all cable television with teens 9-14, boys 9-14 and men 12-24.
-- Dragon Ball Z's boys 9-14 ratings (11.5) jumped +70 percent, while men 12-24 ratings (6.6) leaped 120 percent, compared to the same time period last year.
-- The Wednesday, Monday and Tuesday telecasts of Dragon Ball Z ranked as the top three programs in all of television -- broadcast or cable -- for delivery of boys 9-14. (The closest competitor was CBS' Survivor: Thailand.)
"We anticipated good ratings for the new season, but having the number one show for our target audience on all cable television is outstanding," exclaims Gen Fukunaga, president and founder of FUNimation Productions Ltd. "From the success of the series, to home videos and our figures from IF Labs, Dragon Ball Z is a very strong property."
The show is in its eighth fall season and it does not seem to be slowing down. The Dragon Ball Z Web site (www.dragonballz.com) receives over 7 million hits a day and over 14 million videos have been sold.

- Movie News and new UK stuff
•Well, a friend gave me this reminder and i'm not exactly sure how late this is but according to the DBZ Movie Poll at the Dragonball Z website, the fans voted Jackie Chan to play Vegeta. Personally, I dont like the results. Jet Li is a much better villan rather than Jackie Chan. The new poll released is about the director, Who do you think should direct the Dragon Ball Z live action movie? Also, from Saiyanz Rage, the UK is going to be getting a hardcore station branched off of Cartoon Network. The difference is that it is going to be made for older males i guess and is going to be like the adult swim we have now. They will be playing a list of animes and the uncut version of DBZ. I wish i lived in the UK :-( Well, peace out. I'm going to go pick up the new Disturbed CD.

- My 2 cents..
•It has come to my attention that some people have made hack threats. I've just read at SzR about people trying to hire him to do a job here. I'm here to tell everyone that I have no idea what's going on at dbgt.com I've been minding my own business since I transfered to this domain. I'm still a good friend with Ruben, we were talking on AIM and it seems Engel did something to his server. I'm not saying he did it, but Ruben tells me that it looks like he was the person who messed up his server. I'm not responsible for any wrong doing and we're not even sure if Engel really did it. I'll give you guys more info in the community news as it arises.

- News!
•First off, i'll give some listings of the Z store releases from October 15th up until November 26th. Besides I'm not sure how many read the ticker so i'll post these here for ya.
Arrives November 26:
DBZ DVD 83: KID BUU - Regression
DBZ Video 83: KID BUU - Regression
DBZ DVD 84: KID BUU - Saiyan Pride
DBZ Video 84: KID BUU - Saiyan Pride
Arrives November 12:
DBZ DVD 48: CELL GAMES - Ultimatum
Arrives October 22:
DBZ DVD 81: FUSION - The Last Saiyan
DBZ DVD 82: FUSION - Internal Struggle
Arrives October 15:
DBZ DVD Boxed Set - Feature Pack: Movies 4, 5, 6
DBZ Video Boxed Set - Feature Pack: Movies 4, 5, 6
Also here is some news I retrieved from Saiyanz Rage tonight, according to Kyle Hebert the Voice Actor of Adult Gohan, Funimation will not be redubbing the first 3 movies. They are already uncut. Also, if you didn't already hear distribution rights to the first two American seasons of Dragonball Z (eps. 1 to 53) will revert to FUNimation from Pioneer in 2004, at which time the roughly 15 episodes edited out of the American version will be restored, re-dubed, and re-scripted for uncensored, bilingual home video release. Some crap huh? O well.
Also, not many are still keeping up with the Lycos 50 anymore so here you are...
1. September 11th
2. World Trade Center
3. NFL
4. Dragonball Z
5. KaZaA
Dont worry guys, new episodes are airing and those stats will rocket. Plus, DBZ hasn't been out of the top 5 spot in a long time and has never been below 11. Want to here some other weird news? Well guess what, a tornado was in my town a couple of hours ago. It was awesome but scary as well. It was an F4 and was in the Indian region. Peace out!

"..Earlier this year CN announced in a press release that 54 new DBZ eps will air this fall on Cartoon Network (CN). Well, guess what that's not happing.
CN Reps have informed me that only 39 new episodes will be airing starting September 16th, at 6:30 PM (EST/PST). This means that there are approximately 14 or 15 episodes left to compleat all the DBZ eps. As of now, Cartoon Network has not released any information on the remaining 14 episodes. Although broadcasting DBZ eps is strictly a Cartoon Network matter and has nothing to do with FUNimation, I have received official confirmation from both parties Cartoon Network and
FUNimation.
Cartoon Network's Response: - “If we aired an commercial that states that we will be airing 39 new episodes then we will air 39 episodes.”
FUNimation's Response: - “I checked with the production to verify the number of episodes. The most recent commercial from Cartoon Network is correct: 39 new episodes.”
There you have it guys. I wish, it wasn't this way but it is. Don't worry Cartoon Network will air the remaining 14 episodes soon. I'll let you guys know when CN officially announces to broadcast the last 14 episodes. "

- News? not really..
•Minor insufficient updates, I shortened the php coding through out the whole site and removed any unnecessary tags to make the site load just a tad faster. Fixed many of the errors reported by visitors and added the membership link to the navigation so you don't have to search for it anymore. As for actual updates, none really.. I did re-do the look of the DBZ US Episodes categorizing them by saga. Worked on the rpg a bit just about done for it's version 1.0 release. New webmasters section coming fairly short.

- 14 Episodes not to air?
•I just read the crappiest Dragonball news in recent months. Apparantley, Funimation as of now isn't going to air the last 14 episodes of Dragonball Z. I was hearing about this past couple of weeks but as I was at Saiyaz Rage, I read that there were no plans of even airing the last 14 episodes. Hopefully this will be cleared up. Anyways, I am pretty excited about the new episodes airing even with this mishap. Just keep in mind, this is incomplete info so this will most likely be cleared up before the series ends. But, as of now, i'm pretty p.o'd.

•Hey true DBGT Network fans!
We are back up and running and most links to <cough> dbgt.com </cough> have been removed but as always we are keen to remove those links going there! so if you see any, reply to this post!
I have also been working on a product review script so staff can submit reviews on products and added before that was a site review system! DBGTN Staff i will need your username so i can make you an administator so you can take advantage of these new features, so when you sign on next just reply to this post saying 'I am a staff member'. Here are the people done so far: DBGTNoCOM(frank), Me(deano), Dalla and XtremeVegeta.
I will also start work on the topsites this week(waiting for host to sort itself out) and expect the scripting side of the topsites to be finished next week or the week after(due to me being on holiday currently as we speak, i also was working on dbgt at the beginning of my week away from the city)!
The rpg is looking great and i cant wait till its launched! fRaNk will be selecting beta testers but if you have had experience with playing online rpgs reply to this post!
Frank, i also moved the middle banner to the top of the page so it dont look so empty and i added the old style news back so you can choose more or less news!

- The site is almost at 100%
•We lost all the news post after "Sunday, August 18, 2002", so i'll try to post everything I told you guys after that. The RPG is almost done i'm guessing at about 80% done. I just need to fix a few bugs here and there, add the general store, and implement the battle system. The new poll is up, but the votes were lost so here's your second chance to get it right. I don't remember anything else, so if you want to help the site out help by telling me if you see any text on our page with dbgt.com on it so I can update it to dbgtn.com. Thanks for your time and that's all for now..
