Movie
1: Return My Gohan
The scene
now has a red sky, and yellow, fluffy clouds. There is a structure which could
well be a weapons factory, because of all the leaning, bent towers spreading out
from it. Crying is heard, then the picture goes to a room with Gohan knelt down,
tears still filling his eyes. The dragon ball on his head has started to light
up. It is flashing, as the picture zooms out, and we see a bed with four more
dragon balls on, all doing the same thing a the one on Gohan’s hat. The leader
states the obvious to his three, loyal minions, telling them that they need but
two more. His minions bow as he gets up, and walks to the left. The ‘leader’
of this gang is only about Gohans size. He is the one who was wearing the cloak.
He is too far away from the camera’s focus for us to see any of his facial
features, but we can make out that he is now wearing a white cape. He talks in a
kind of croaky voice. The picture zooms in to focus purely on him. He has
pointed ears, similar to the ones of the minion that we saw earlier, and he has
the same dull colour, skin. He has large, close together eyes, and a sly smile.
His minion informs him that they know the location of the other two dragon
balls, and that they will have them very soon. This makes the smile on the small
guys face widen. He looks as if he is only a kid.
When talking about the dragon balls, he says “Kami will be mortal, but I will
live forever!” signaling that he is going to wish for eternal life. He talks
about destroying the planet once he becomes immortal, then gives off manic
laughter. His minions look stunned by the fact that their master has just gone
mad. We can now see what the other two minions look like. One is a muscular
purple alien, with yellow eyes, and pointy ears. The other has green skin, with
a hint of brown to it, and once again, another one has pointy ears. He is
shorter than the other two, and his eyes are red.
Gohan
continues his crying, which gets to the point where the minions can no longer
stand it. One of them go over to him to shut him up, but are answered only by a
violent, threatening tone from Gohan. “My dads Goku, and he’s the strongest
fighter in the world, and when he gets here, he’s going to teach you a
lesson!” This grabs the ‘leaders’ attention. He questions Gohan about what
he just said. The leader can’t believe that Gohan is the son of the person who
beat Piccolo in the world martial arts tournament.
The minions laugh at Gohan, then tell him that they beat Piccolo too.
This shuts Gohan up. He finds it hard to believe that anyone else could beat the
second strongest fighter in the world. The ‘leader’ of this gang senses
Gohans potential power though, and invites him to become his right hand man,
informing him that he could soon be as strong as his minions. Gohan thinks about
this prospect, and then the picture goes to another location.
It is that
of an isolated island, in the middle of the sea. Birds fly around, and the sky
is a deep blue. Palm trees grow over the small house that is located there.
Inside we can hear voices. The picture goes to the inside of the house. Bulma,
Master Roshi, Krillen, the turtle, and Goku are all sitting cross legged (well,
the turtle is just on all fours as usual). They are all looking at the dragon
radar, a contraption for locating all the dragon balls. They see that there is a
large bunch of them in one place, and deduct that that must be the place where
Gohan is being held captive. Goku takes the dragon radar, and sprints out of the
house. As Goku jumps onto his nimbus, Roshi and Bulma shout “Good luck Goku.
Remember that these guys are tough. Don’t forget what they did to
Chi-Chi and the Ox King. Be careful.” Goku shouts “I will!” then flies off
on his speeding cloud-shaped vehicle. He soars through the air, and is out of
the sight.
The picture
goes back to the palace of the evil leader, where Gohan is running away from one
of the minions. It is the tallest one, with white hair, and the big necklace. He
is thoroughly out of breath. Whereas Gohan isn’t. The minion whines about
having to look after Gohan, then the kid himself pushes the minion forward, and
runs past him. The green minion walks up some stairs, absolutely spent, with no
more energy after chasing Gohan. The half-saiyan is sitting on the floor,
complaining about being hungry and thirsty. Gohan takes a large bite from a
fruit, that looks a lot like an apple, despite the minion warning him not too.
Gohan scoffs it in seconds. The minions face goes blank. “Children mustn’t
eat those………..because they see things” he says. Gohans eyes start to get
heavy, and then his cheeks go a beetroot red. He staggers back, and almost falls
right off the side of the palace, but hangs onto the ledge and pulls himself
back up. Gohan hick-ups, and the minion sighs. “Here we go.” A rather
pointless scene is next where Gohan is running along the ledge of the palace’s
top floor, hiccupping, and constantly coming close to falling. The minion tries
to stop it, but Gohan is too fast running away. I will not bother describing the
next scene, as it is completely pointless, and stupid. All I will say is that we
see through Gohans eyes, and a rather stupid sounding Japanese song plays. He
sees dancing dinosaurs, and all sorts of stupid things.
Anyway, as
the song nears its end (Thank god), the main bad guy sees Gohan, and agrees with
himself that he was right, and that Gohan is a very special kid. Gohan falls
asleep on the ‘leaders’ chair, thoroughly exhausted from the day’s
activity. The minion whop was supposed to be looking after him comes in, barely
able to walk because he is so tired out.
The scene
then goes to a bridge, which is part of the palace. It is a very narrow, black
bridge. In the background is the red sky, and the yellow clouds. A shout of
“Sir, come quick! We’ve got the last two dragon balls!” is heard. The two
minions (The ones who didn’t have to baby-sit Gohan) are out of breath, but
positively overjoyed. The dragon balls are together once again, as they all
flash. The leader of the pack stands above them, laughing, calling out the
eternal dragon. We see Goku enter the palaces grounds on his nimbus, as the sky
starts to darken as it always does when the dragon is called out. Dramatic music
plays, then Goku says in a very shocked voice “they summoned the dragon?!”
Flashes of lightning streak from the sky. A particularly big one comes down,
causing an almighty explosion. From out of the explosion emerges the Earths
eternal dragon – Shenron. Goku chugs along at a speedy pace, trying to get
there in time to stop the wish from taking place. The dragon is an amazing site,
with its green, scaly body almost folded up on the screen. He talks in a very
low, deep voice, asking the evil ‘leader’ of the gang to make his wish.
“Please, grant me immortality!” responds the little evil guy. He holds his
arms out as he says this, jumping up and down with excitement. Shenron’s eyes
glow red as a beam of light comes down, and emerses the bad guy, as he grins,
and then begins to laugh as the power starts to take place. It finished, and the
bad guy starts to call out all the demons that have gone into hiding, claiming
that vengeance will be his! They start to come out in their thousands, with
flying demons, and ‘soldier’ demons, with pointed staffs. “Feel my wrath!
Let the Earth be drenched in blood!” yells the boss of the evil gang. He makes
a small speech about how he can kill anyone who doesn’t obey him, and how his
reign will be of terror, and it will never end. Shenton says the words “Your
wish has been granted, and now, I bid you farewell”, before his body glows
yellow, and turns into a beam heading straight upwards, with the dragon balls at
the top of it. The balls scatter across the globe once again, with one of them
almost knocking Goku off his nimbus as it flew past. The sky turns red once
more, and the music fades out.
The small,
evil, and now immortal gang leader is glowing with power, and he says that he
will soon rule the whole universe. We finally get the name of this guy when one
of his minions shout out “All hail Garlic Junior, master of the universe!”
Garlic junior walks into an arch, as the minions cheer. Goku jumps off
his nimbus, and shouts “Return Gohan!” and the idiot minions repeat what
Goku says, before realizing that it was Goku who said that.
Goku lands
on his feet, with a defiant look on his face, scouting out the minions. They
figure out that he is the one Gohan was talking about. Garlic Jr smiles upon
hearing Goku’s name mentioned. The minions threaten him, and get ready to
fight. Before the battle takes place though, a bright beam shoots from the sky,
causing a small explosion when it lands. When the smoke clears, we see that Kami
is standing at Goku’s side. Garlic Jr turns round to see what it is, and has a
very shocked look on his face upon seeing the guardian of Earth. They work out
that if Kami is still alive, then Piccolo must be too (Kami and Piccolo were
once one, but they split into two parts – an evil part, and a good part.
Piccolo is the evil part, and Kami is the good part. If one of them dies, then
so too does the other. That is what has stopped Piccolo from killing Kami long
ago) Kami finaly materializes fully, and the bright beam goes. Goku tries to
talk him out of fighting, but the Piccolo’s good twin will have none of it. He
and Garlic Jr both recognize each other. Kami talks about how Garlic Jr is just
like his father, then tells us a little about Garlic senior.
“I
competed for the throne of Kami, and the final result was that I was chosen to
take it over,” Kami stated. It shows Garlic senior angry at losing the
contest. Apparently, the person who was Kami before had seen the evil in his
heart. Garlic senior didn’t like the way things went, and vowed to take the
throne by force, rather than the traditional method of being handpicked. He
summoned forth demons from beyond the realms, and they went to attack Kami. The
Kami of that time sealed Garlic senior’s dark power away for all of time in
some sort of hell-like place. Garlic senior vowed that he would have his revenge
within 300 years.
After that
tale, Garlic Jr threatens to kill Kami for what his predecessor did to him. “I
don’t want to hear about your life story! Just tell me where Gohan is!” Goku
threatened. He is informed that his son is sleeping, and Goku deducts that he is
inside the palace, so he looks around, and uses his speed to get past all the
minions, into the building. “Stop him!” orders Garlic Jr, as he lets his
minions go after Goku. That leaves just him and Kami standing outside,
face-to-face.
Inside the
palace, Goku is shouting out for Gohan, desperately trying to seek out his only
child. Two of the minions jump in the way of Goku, and threaten him. “If you
want to see the kid, the you’re going to have to fight us first!” Goku turns
to go the other way, but the other minion is standing behind him. This is the
first time that they tell us their names. The green guy with red eyes in called
Ginger, the one with dull coloured skin, and white hair is called Nikki, and the
final one, the bulky one, with yellow eyes, is called Sancho. The picture closes
in on Goku, looking very worried. He tries to jump up onto one of the upper
floors, but Nikki gets there first, forcing Goku to push himself off, and go for
the ledge on the other side of the room. He flies through the air, and is just
about to get up, when one of the minions grab his foot, pulling him down. It’s
Nikki, he managed to get all the way over to Goku in that time! He’s even
faster than the hero! As Nikki tried to drill him down to the ground, Goku
breaks free of Nikki’s grasps, and manages to handstand to safety, managing to
avoid slamming his face against the floor from Nikki’s attack. He continues to
do handstands backwards until he has some space. He gets into his fighting pose,
then shouts “Lets go!” knowing that the only way past is to kill the
minions. Each one shouts out something after laughing at Goku’s request.
Ginger shouts out “Gingerbread!”, Nikki shouts out “Tutee Fruity”, and
Sancho yells “Pepperoni!” They then all begin to transform, become bigger,
bulkier versions of themselves. Their speed also increases greatly. They all
charge at Goku, taking him on, all three of them against him, and him alone.
Goku manages to block a few of their punches, but after he catches the fist of
two of the minions, the other one kicks him in the back, sending him shot
through the air, going face first into a statue, and falling to the floor. He
springs back to his feet though, with a small gash on his face, and a very
miffed look to boot. He is out of breath, and realizes that they have become a
lot stronger since they transformed. Even so, he still keeps up his confidence,
and tells them to “Bring it on!” He jumps into the air, and all three
minions do too.
