Ultimate Battle 22 to Hit the U.S.
Posted Tuesday, January 21, 2003 by Tim
DragonballToys.com is reporting that DBZ: Ultimate Battle 22 has been confirmed to come to the U.S. this coming March 26th on PSX. This is quite surprising news to me that after all this time, the game is being translated and released here. This is one of the better DBZ games for PSX, a lot better than DBGT Final Bout. Keep your eyes peeled for this title.

It also appears that DBZ: Legacy II - Future Shock is going to hit GBA on June 25th, so if you were a fan of Legacy of Goku, this news is for you.

Here Comes the Pathetic Excuse...
Posted Sunday, January 19, 2003 by Mandrew
Sorry for the bad lack of updates on my part, but I have been very busy as of late. I haven't had much time to reach my computer and type up more summaries. So, I will probably be gone in a few days and might pop my head in with an update or two, but don't expect a whole lot from me. I'm sorry everyone, but life is getting more complicated for me, and please hold the e-mails from spamming me. I will definatly try my hardest to update tonight or tomorrow. Cyas later.

Dragonball GT Release Dates, Dragon Ball on DVD
Posted Saturday, January 18, 2003 by Tim
Anime on DVD is reporting that the first two DBGT DVD's will be released on April 15th. The two dvds are entitled Baby: Affliction and Baby: Incubation. This kinda makes me wonder if FUNimation has just jumped right on into the first saga of GT...

The next two DVDs, Baby: Creation and Baby: Proliferation, are due out May 20th.

Dragon Ball: World Tournament DVD box set is also scheduled to hit stores April 22nd. I can definitely say it's about time these titles have hit DVD. Another interesting title is Dragon Ball Feature 1 - The Path to Power is also listed for release on April 29th. With Z wrapping up, looks like there is still more to look forward to.

Dragonball Z VA Appearance
Posted Friday, January 17, 2003 by Tim
Kyle Hebert (teen Gohan) and Josh Martin (Majin Buu) will be appearing with the DBZ Hummer in San Diego, CA this Saturday afternoon, January 18th, at the Westfield Shoppingtown Mission Valley (near the AMC 20 theater). This is a great opportunity for fans in San Diego to meet these two guys. Maybe "Pink Hat Guy" Jon Allen will be there, but I am not sure.

Semi-Bad News
Posted Sunday, January 12, 2003 by The Switcher
You know it HAD to happen right? It goes hand-in-hand, I have the vids up for X amount of days, then you people manage to gobble up the bandwidth. Sidious's server had 100 GIGS of bandwidth, and you all managed to use 200 GIGS. So Until we get some mirrors up, which won't be too much of a wait, this month at least...they'll be down AGAIN. If ANY of you see a DBZ site using our videos, PLEASE e-mail me, so I can shut down their stealing asses.

Fan Art Goodies...

And everyone, be sure to keep that fan art coming! But please try to keep them in jpg format, kay? Laaaaate.

Nothing Major...
Posted Friday, January 10, 2003 by Daniel Kurland
Just some friendly ZStore updates. First volume of Cubix is there (yawn), as well as the last volume of Blue Gender (excited yawn). I really enjoyed Blue Gender and I think Funimation did a wonderful job handling it. It is definitely one of my favortie anime. There is also a new Lupin feature up there too. The boxsets for Garlic Jr. and the Android sagas are also up as well the Tournament Saga in Dragon Ball. So if Boxsets are your thing, I would swing by and look at them (cover art of them will also be added soon). IMPORTANT NOTE: The Tournament Boxset for DB claims to be in DVD format. If this is the case, HERE is your long awaited Dragon Ball on DVD. I wouldn't expect many extras though, just dual language, we will see if there are more. Well, there is the news and if any of these products interest you, why not purchase them for you and/or a loved one. Everybody loves someone!

Been a lot of request for my music vid, "A Better Tomorrow" to be put back online. Even though I don't particularly like it anymore, I felt obligated to put it back. Oh yeah, nevermind the music vid note on the Status Panel at the top of the page, it's outdated. Hey, can someone fix that? Anybody? Fine. Ah, btw, expect a fan art update today or tomorrow, or whenever I feel like it. ^_^

I put up the complete character guide in the character guide section. Yes, the links for A-L are all now working. I also added a new game review for Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance in the Non-DBZ Game Reviews section.

Unfortunately, we did not win any awards at the Crossfire Awards yet again, and I am actually disappointed this time. Oh well.

Still more to come...

Redone Official Site
Posted Saturday, December 28, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
The Official Site has been redone and looks a bit sleeker now. It also has a section for Dragon Ball GT. In this section at the current moment is some thoughts and comments and paragraphs by Sonny Strait (Director for GT, VA of Krillin) which I reccomend you guys check out.

I also got an e-mail from a person conducting a poll whether YOU, the fans would prefer to have the original music in GT, or Faulconer's score. The person will also be sending the poll to cartoon network and Funimation and other appropriate sources. You are free to try this out, but I am fairly certain that GT will have Faulconer's soundtrack because they have a contract with him, and you cannot break contracts. Don't believe me? One time I signed a CONTRACT with the devil for another season of Newsradio and he granted my wish. He didn't break the CONTRACT.

The link to the poll can be found here. SO TRY TO SAVE YOUR PRECIOUS ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK. TRY TO. I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU TOO!! HAHAAHAHAHAHAAH *inhale* HAHAAHAHAHA!

Here's an early gift for you all, because I'm going to be leaving early tomorrow morning for Christmas. So, here's your final five comics. As for me, I'm going to take a week long break, because of the fifteen comics I had to shove out real fast. Sorry for the harsh description, but I wanted to get you all these "gifts" per say. I would like to note now, there are 300 chapters of summaries in the Adventure History now. As for the pages I've done, I've done an astounding 485 pages. Now, I must be off. Cyas.

Z Store Updated
Posted Monday, December 23, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
I was just talking to a fan yesterday about how long it has been since the Z Store has been updated and now it is just in time for Christmas. New DBZ/Kirby/Yu-Gi-Oh/Fruits Basket and YYH releases are up. Garlic Junior Boxset is also up to preorder and more importantly the first YYH Boxset is also available to pre-order. I am very pleased with how Funimation is handling this series. The dub has had a lot of work put into it and releasing box sets early in the series' lifetime is a good sign as well. Sorry there isn't more news to report on.

I would also like to wish all the visitors of our site a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or whatever your denomination may be. I wish the best of you and to all of your families and I hope you enjoy your holidays as much as humanly possible.

Sabat Interview, Anime Channel....
Posted Saturday, December 21, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
The Official DBZ Site not only has the trailer to DBZ Budokai, they also have a 4.5 minute trailer on the game with Chris Sabat (video) which you guys may want to check out.

A lot of new has been given regarding TechTV's new Anime Channel that is being run by ADV and the fact that it (sigh) won't be airing in Canada unless lots of fans send in suggestions saying they should (which I reccomend everyone does, regardless if you live in Canada). All of the news articles relating to the channel can be found on Anime News Network and I reccomend you check them out if you are interested in the subject. I also made some minor changes to the cover guide a while ago, that now contains the new Cell Saga covers. And with that I must now vanish into nothingness...... *vanishes into nothingness*

More on Fake FUNi Threat
Posted Sunday, December 15, 2002 by Tim
Nazmune of DBZN got the same email I got, and here is what he had to say about the matter...

A couple of days ago it seems that some customer of www.hostultra.com or maybe even Host Ultra themselves sent a fake email that claimed to be from legal@funimation.com.

Well, it seemed highly unrealistic that DBZN would get such a threat so I looked at the actual email file and checked out the mail headers. It seems that it came from hostultra.com who after a short investigation at domainwhitepages.com seemed to be reselling or colocating at nhicolo.com. Not only is this email NOT from FUNimation it's not even from a server from the same webhost. FUNimation from my short investigation seems to be hosted at interland.com or and interland.com reseller.

The email itself was probably from some annoying 13 year old kid that figured out how to manipulate the from email address from area (you can write a two line php script that'll do that). The person is hosted at a place that claims to provide unlimited everything (usually kicks you out after you use more then 10 gigs).

I originally discarded this email after my quick 5 minute investigation several days ago but it seems that some other legitimate DBZ sites like www.dbzgtlegacy.com were also emailed by the same clown at the same time. I just want you all to know that this is nothing to worry about.

Update
Posted Friday, December 13, 2002 by Tim
I honestly do not believe the email I received is valid. I replied to it and got my email back as undeliverable to an email that does not exist. Kevin talked to the "FUNi rep" last night on AIM til 4 AM, which again seemed a bit odd to me. I am not going to worry about this til FUNimation actually contacts me or Kevin directly.

Funi to take down Legacy... or are they?
Posted Thursday, December 12, 2002 by Tim
I have received an email from Legal from Funi saying I am in violation of copyright laws with this site and need to hand over my domain name. I am not sure of the validity of this email but I am trying to get to the bottom of it. We shall see what happens.

In the mean time, the multimedia has been taken down til we get these matters cleared up... any links that are broken are probably down for this reason.

Gone Gamin'
Posted Thursday, December 5, 2002 by Mandrew
Got that... "game"... today. Tis very fun! Everyone should at least try it out and rent it, since it's addicting from the get-go. Mostly, it seems FUNi has grown some balls and actually added blood during the first two seasons of the show and has added more dialouge closer to Japanese. Plus, those capsules are addicting too, trying to get them all for every character. Just try to fight Cell with Gohan in the final battle... once... it's literally impossible. So, I'm so happy I got this game, I've decided to give 8 comics to you all. Enjoy the game and/or the comics. Cyas!

And It Keeps Rolling In...
Posted Thursday, December 5, 2002 by The Switcher
I've managed to pull myself away from both Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 0, to upload an entire new page of fanart. Music videos are still in the process of being...well...that's about all I know. Is it just me, or does the prospect of shooting a Final Flash as Majin Vegeta against SS3 Goku, sound a bit more exciting then Dodoria versus Krillen? That's my main problem with DBZ Budokai. Sigh. Maybe next time.

Funny Funny Bruce Faulconer news
Posted Wednesday, December 4, 2002 by Jon Allen
Hey gang, remember me? Voice of Pink Hat Guy, writer for DBZ Beckett? Kame Hame Hey, good ta see ya! As Funimation gets set to produce Dragonball GT, Bruce has started his big pull to be a part of the final chapter of Funi's big meal ticket, and has sent out the following mass email to everyone who's ever emailed him regarding his work on DBZ from his DBZ@faulconer.com email address;

Hi (insert name here)

Could you do me a favor?

Your vote for me to do the music for DBGT might help me get the job.

If you could tell the people at Funimation you want me to do DBGT, I would be grateful.

Tell your friends and chat friends to vote too; every bit helps! And thanks for your email and support.

Try these Funimation addresses and let me know if they don't go through:

(Daniel Cocanougher's email)

(Barry Watson's email)

Stop the (Japanese) Presses!
Posted Wednesday, December 4, 2002 by Mandrew
Well, let's not hope not, because our good friend, Mr. Julian Grybowski has paid his visit to me regarding the Kanzenban.

The first two volumes of the Dragon Ball manga's Perfect Edition (Kanzenban) came out today in Japan. As expected, they do indeed include more chapters each than their predecessors (the original Volume 1 had roughly 190 pages, while the Perfect Edition Volume 1 has 226). And, with the next two volumes on the way on the sixth of January, Shueisha has updated its Comics News page with more information about the volumes:

First of all, each cover will (as previously stated) feature new cover art by Akira Toriyama. What has not been mentioned until now, though, is that each cover features a single character from that volume in color, while others are in black and white behind them. For example, the first volume's cover features Goku, the second shows Kame-Sen'nin, the third will have Kuririn, and the fourth will have Jackie Chun.

Second, the rumors about the inclusion of color pages have been confirmed. Each volume will contain all of the color illustrations as they appeared in Jump. The images have been retouched and revised, as well (though I'm not sure to what extent).

And finally, there is a "special surprise" on what I think is either the spine or the actual cover (not the jacket)...My translation skills aren't the greatest, and I'm not exactly sure what the spot is. Whatever the case, there will be never-before-made-public ultra-rare illustrations appearing in that location. The web page seemed to be purposefully vague about it, so I can't really give you any more than that right now.

You can refer to here at the Shueisha's Comic News page. Cyas.

It's out in stores, anyway. I can't seem to get it in the mail, but at some stores, they are carrying the brand new manga for American readers. So, if you want to spend an extra $5 if you already ordered it, and want an ultra free Yu-Gi-Oh card, then by all means, run out and get it. No comic today, I've been rather busy and will be later. Cyas.

No, I am not Dead, Missing, Kidnapped or Burned
Posted Saturday, November 23, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Absolutely no escuse for my absence of posting lately and I wanted YOU, the reader to know that I do feel bad about it, which in turn means I have a conscience.

I have just been incredibly busy in my real life, whether it being social or work. Resident Evil 0 also consumes time as well as I just finished up a movie I was making, and I am very pleased with that.
RightStuf now has the new Buu and Cell Games releases available to pre-order (along with cover art) as well as box sets galore and Movie #7 (which has a very good cover in my opinion). YTV has been airing new DBZ episodes, but on Thursday, they did air a repeat again. This is most likely because they have been getting the tapes that contain the episodes late from their distributors.

Once again, I do apologize and the new cover art will be added to my patented "Cover Guide" once the Z Store decides to add them.

I agree, if anyone can go to see Toriyama Akira-sensei, then do it! If by all means, shake his hand, kiss him, hug him, do anything to cherish the memory! I'm going to try and see if I can get my chance to meet him too, but til then, here's a comic. Cyas.

Akira Toriyama to make NYC Appearance and More!!!
Posted Thursday, November 21, 2002 by Tim
Steve from KH.com sent me this

" ...  on December 6, in New York City, get ready for the Shonen Jump America Launch Party, an event so unbelievably awesome in its scope that there will NEVER be another one like it!!!

So why will it be soooooo cool … the original creator of Dragon Ball Z is coming over from Japan…Akira Toriyama himself!!!!! Reportedly it has been years since has left Japan. Can you possibly think of anything more cool ......

... joining in on the fun will be Score Entertainment (the Hummer will be there!), Infogrames – the makers of the ... upcoming DBZ Budokai, Irwin Toys, the makers of the cool line of DBZ action figures, Viz Communications who produces Shonen Jump and Shueisha the parent company for all things DBZ, as well as our friends at FUNimation Studios!

"... Score Entertainment needs your help! We are looking for 60 die-hard fans to help us out with this event by volunteering and becoming a sort of Saiyan for the Day. Besides getting to go to THE Dragon Ball Z event of the century, you will also earn a CCPP II and more. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and it will be on a first come, first serve basis."

This is the MUST ATTEND event for DBZ of all time!!! If you live in NYC, you better not miss this! Head to www.scoreonline.net or www.dbzcardgame.com for more information.

Let the reruns begin...
Posted Wednesday, November 20, 2002 by Tim
Well I hope you liked what you saw of the Buu saga, because you get to watch it all again for the rest of the year. I checked Cartoon Network and reruns will air til at least January 3rd, which will be the Meet Vegito episode. Never fear, they will air the end of Z in the Spring.

Wanna Know a Fact?
Posted Wednesday, November 20, 2002 by Mandrew
I'm only some 261 comics behind where FUNimation is now. Just a measly 261... In any case, I'm probably only about 50 or so comics behind VIZ, so I should catch up pretty quick. I've already passed them in Dragon Ball and I can pass them again in Dragon Ball Z. Let's get one more comic out there. Cyas later.

"What is he on?"
Posted Tuesday, November 19, 2002 by Mandrew
FUNimation is just laugh out loud funny, the way Vegeta says, "Son of a Namek!" or refering to Goku, "What is he on?" He's high on life Vegeta, so get a grip. Anyways, here's a comic, so read, read, read. Cyas.

Dragon Ball Japanese Readers, You Got Some Goodness...
Posted Thursday, November 14, 2002 by Mandrew
Mr. Julian Grybowski, of the good ol' Namek, has told me about that there is news about the Dragon Ball Z DVD Box Set. Here's what he's spilled:

Last week, I reported to you that the entire DBZ series would be released on DVD in Japan, in two huge boxed sets. Dragon Box TV has updated with a question asking if the English version will be included. The response was that it will be Japanese audio only, with no subtitles whatsoever (English OR Japanese).

Now, more has been told, pertaining to the Dragon Ball Manga in Japan. Here's more to say:

Not only that, but Shueisha has put up a page announcing something just as big (and many, many times more affordable). Take a look at the link here. Starting on December 4th, the first two volumes of the Dragon Ball manga (comics) will be re-released in Japan in a "Perfect Edition". Features of this Perfect Edition (or I guess you could say "complete," as "kanzen" can go either way) include new cover art by Akira Toriyama, and more chapters per volume (there is expected to be 34 volumes in all). Two volumes will be relased each month. Each will cost 980 yen each, or about $8.

So there ya go! Enjoy the news and AH will come tomorrow. Cyas.

Seems like yesterday that I was hooked up, and brought along to a slick looking DBZ site, that to this day I'm very proud to be a part of. And hope to do so for as long as I can. I wish I could of had the music videos up for today, but it'll take a while longer. In the meantime, feast your eyes on a dozen new pieces of fanart why doncha? Oh yeah, Metroid Prime comes out in 6 days! Reserve your copy now! Happy birthday DBZGT Legacy! ^_^

DBZGTLegacy Turns Two Years Old
Posted Monday, November 11, 2002 by Tim
Today officially marks the day Legacy hit the net two years ago. Today, it's probably one of the most respected sites out there. It's been such a long ride with this site and I am glad it is still alive and kicking. Here is hoping for yet another year. I thank all you fans out there that come to this site daily and make it so successful. I also want to thank the staff, past and present, that have built the ultimate information site imagineable.

Since it is the site's birthday, I have finally uploaded Link's DBZ Movie 12 and 13 screenshots as well as updated the links section with eight new sites. A new Tim's Rant will be posted later this evening and maybe some other stuff from the rest of the staff.

YTV Pisses Me Off...Nothing New
Posted Wednesday, November 6, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
YTV re-aired episode 220 "Meal Time" today instead of episode 253 "Meet Vegetto". YTV's episode list goes up to 257 and their schedule says today and tomorrow should be new episodes. I am not sure if this is just a programming error (I hope) or if they are back into repeats for awhile. I am assuming it is just an error because their site has information on episodes past the latest they have aired. Last week YTV also went without DBZ, instead they aired more "Halloween related programs" in their timeslot. Oh what's that? You are in United States and you don't care about this news...I don't blame you.

Well, you must be wondering where I have been. Frankly, a lot has been going on with me and not too much news has been going on. Faulconer is releasing a Buu Saga album (complete with wacky track titles: eg. "Vegeta Gets Beam"), and Play Station 2 game, DBZ: Budokai is being released. I have also been in contact with Stephanie Nadolny and she is recovering very quickly and will even be recording again this Wednesday. Sonny Strait will be the voice director for Dragon Ball GT. This is fairly interesting because the previous voice directors for DB/Z have been Sabat, McFarland and Cook. Now here is the nice piece of news for the day and guess who it is from? Special guest Julian Grybowski from Planet Namek (RIP). Here is what he told me about Region 2 DVD Boxsets of DBZ being released in Japan:

"Dragon Ball Z will be released, in its entirety, in two limited edition box sets, for 100,000 Yen each (about $820 US). The first will be released in March, and the second will be out in September.
The first set will contain the first 147 episodes of the series spread across 25 discs, plus a 'special disc' whose contents are undetermined (it could be THE Specials, but the information available doesn't specify).

In addition, the set includes remastered video (though audio is still 2-channel mono), a deluxe booklet detailing the Dragon World, and an exclusive action figure from Kaiyodo Productions. The second set will include the last 144 episodes of the series, plus other features that are not known at the present time.

The box set is being released jointly by Toei Animation, Shueisha, and Fuji TV, and distributed by Pony Canyon. More information may be found at the following sites:Toei's shop site's info for the set.The Official Japanese DB Site's info page on it, And the Box Set's very own site." That's the news, good night and have a pleasant tomorrow. ^_^

I wish. Anyways, along with not much to update except that November 3rd is the last Dragon Ball Z on the International Channel. After that, starting November 10th, is Dragon Ball GT. There is some rumor that the International Channel may bring along Dragon Ball after that. There is no word yet, however, if DBGT will be subtitled. Now's your chance to watch one of the most confusing plot twisters in all of the DB series. People get power ups like crazy and so many errors are made. Other than that, it's pretty good. But this is worth mentioning. I just got an e-mail from UltimateDBZ that has some big schedule change news for October. This is what he has said and what I've researched on Cartoon Network:

Dragon Ball Z

Daily Schedule:
1 New Episode @ 5:30pm Mondays-Thursdays, September 16th - Thursday October 17th

3 Old Episodes @ 3:00 - 4:30pm, Friday October 18th [these are 3 Garlic Jr. episodes, I've yet to figure the significance of this, considering that Halloween is at the end of the month]

2 Episodes, 1 New Episode @ 5:30pm, 1 Old Episode (the previous day's episode) @ 3:30pm Mondays-Thursdays, Monday October 21st - ???

Midnight Run & Saturday Schedule:
1 New Episode @ 11:00pm Mondays-Thursdays, September 16th - ??? [Midnight Run]

2 Old Episodes (new season, previously aired episodes) @ 1:00-2:00pm Saturdays, September 16th - ??? [Saturday schedule]

Dragon Ball

Daily Schedule:
1 Old Episode @ 5:00pm Mondays-Thursdays, ??? - Thursday October 17th

2 Episodes, 1 New Episode @ 5:00pm Mondays-Thursdays, 1 Old Episode (the previous day's episode) @ 3:00pm Mondays-Thursdays, Monday October 21st - ???

Midnight Run & Saturday Schedule:
1 New Episode @ 11:30pm Mondays-Thursdays, Sunday October 20th - ??? [Midnight Run]

2 Old Episodes (new season, previously aired episodes) at 2:00-3:00pm Saturdays, October 19th - ??? [Saturday schedule]

It's kind of hard to understand, but if you went to Cartoon Network.com it would make a little more sense. Cyas.

RE-PRINTING! RE-PUBLISHING! NOTHING NEW! There is no new Dragon Ball manga! None! Never! Nada! How more can I explain this!? There is no more Dragon Ball manga. Stop talking to me about it, because THERE IS NO MORE DRAGON BALL COMING! If I haven't gotten the point across, you deserve to have a horny Richard Simmons come after you while you're asleep. Once and for all, since NONE OF YOU CAN READ, there is NO MORE DRAGON BALL MANGA! IT IS OVER! And I know most of you will go out and try to prove me wrong, but it was said MONTHS ago that there would be a new manga in Japan that would... now hear this... RE-PRINT ALL THE MOST FAMOUS RETIRED MANGA'S in Japan. One of those is Dragon Ball! What is Toriyama Akira-sensei making his move on? Educating those who missed their issues long past or for those who want to read the series from the start! Nothing more! Cyas.

Ox King an Action Figure?!?!!? DBZ on PS2!?!?!?! Lots of News!
Posted Wednesday, October 9, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Yes, the two things every true-blooded American (or Canadian) have been waiting for. Now as we all know, some very fake images of an Ox King figure have been floating around for years now, such as this. First time I saw that, I bought 12 of them, one for each of my personalities. Now, I can buy the real thing. First I thought they were the same, but then "SupaVegittaassa12412413124" pointed out to me the first toy has a paler face, I guess he is right. Ox King toy is on the way!

Now, The Play Station 2 Dragon Ball Z Game "Dragon Ball Z: Super Budokai" (the one many talents from Funimation have voiced parts for)will be available on December 17 or 18 and can be pre-ordered now from many stores. Just in time for Christmas/Hanukkah. You can get mroe information on the game as well as many screen shots here. If I had a PS2 I would buy it, if I had a dog I would feed it, if I had a girl I would @*#% it.

I am fairly sure McNeil is voicing both Super Buu and Evil Buu which have graced the many TV screens of Canada. Sorry I have had some large gaps of nothingness between posts. News has been a little slim, and I apologize. I have been positng lately and I will continue to until my fingers bleed the green blood us Canadian take for granted. More news should come soon especially regarding this new Untitled New Dragon Ball Manga.

No Witty Topic Headline Today
Posted Sunday, October 6, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Some small updates here. The Z Store now has the first Kirby (which I only watch for the impersonation of Paul Lynde in it) DVD and video up to pre-order. More importantly, they have the DBZ GBC Game available to pre-order which is becoming available in November and is at the price of $30.00. Game goes through the Cell and Buu sagas apparently and looks more promising than Legacy of Goku. Dragon Ball Toys also has the new line of Striking Z Fighters up as well.

If you watch FOX (which we all know you do because of their blockbuster programming which really shows what a station can accomplish), you may be familiar with their TV show "30 Seconds to Fame" (most likely airs between something like "When Babies go Wrong IV" and "Hidden Cameras in an Unusual Area"). The point of me mentioing this show is that Mike McFarland's comedy troupe (Section 8 Comedy which also has Josh Martin and Chris Rager as members) will most likely be performing on the show, so keep you eyes open for them.

Lastly, Sam from SzR has sent me info that in the next Shonen Jump Newsletter a 6-page interview with Akira Toriyama will occur where we will get some light shed on us regarding some various topics...such as a new Dragon Ball manga.

That's the news, and I am Daniel Kurland.

Nice week off, since I got lots of homework and lots of tests overwith. But now, I'm back and with a slight bit of news. In an ad in Japan, there was a talk of Dragon Ball coming back. Back to be re-printed that is. You all know of how Dragon Ball was supposed to be re-printed, along with some other great manga's, and will start soon. So, if you hear any speculation on that Dragon Ball is coming back, it is ONLY BEING RE-PRINTED. I speak for all the staff members here when I say, WE DO NOT WANT E-MAILS ASKING IF THERE IS NEW DRAGON BALL, because the fact is, it is only being re-printed! After saying that about three to four times, you should get it now. Anyways, here's my return with another manga for you all. Cyas.

The Offical DBZ Site has also doen a bunch of updates including some upcoming autograph sigings, further casting for YYH (although it is labeled as casting for DB), and that the offical site is going to be renovated and certain questions about how the new site will look wil lbe determined by fans. So if you want to be a part of this head on over and take part in their poll (I wonder what site you might pick for your favorite DBZ fansite, by the way that IS a nice tie you are wearing). Oh yes, apparently fans think Jackie Chan should play Vegeta in the live action film. I am not going to dignify that with a response.

DragonBallToys.com has linked some pictures from the Pre-ToyFair 2002 from what IF Labs was displaying. You can see the pictures of Super Master Roshi, General Blue, Android 8, Giant Pirate Robot, SS3 Goku, Vegito, Ultimate Android 13 and Super Buu here. Once again I am extremely impressed with with IF Labs to offer and it makes me wish I could go out and buy every toy that is available.

Mmm...Laura Bailey...oh yeah, Fanart...
Posted Monday, September 23, 2002 by The Switcher
Yeah, so I added a few more pieces of DBZ art to it's respective section. I've heard BloodRayne is suppose to have the main character swearing a blue streak during the gameplay, so that'll be cool to hear with Laura's voice. Oh Daniel, some might be interested that BloodRayne is a PS2, Xbox, AND GameCube title. No point in alienating one of the consoles in our ad at the top of the page, eh? :p

Laura Bailey Sucks
Posted Sunday, September 22, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
...Blood, that is. Yes, yes. I had you gonig there for a minute didn't I? Heh heh, you may send me your checks in the mail. What am I talking about? I don't even know. Here is the news that is from our friend Kyle of Hebert: Laura Bailey (voice of Chibi Trunks in DBZ/Marlene in Blue Gender/Kayko in Yu Yu Hakusho) will be the lead voice in the upcoming PS2 and X Box game "Bloodrayne". Scheduled for release around Halloween, "Bloodrayne" is the story of a special agent who happens to be half-vampire. Set in the 1930s, she must stop the Nazis from obtaining supernatural powers. Its a fast-paced third person action title that will be rated "M" for mature audiences only. Also of note, Chris Sabat (voice of Vegeta/Piccolo) and Chris Rager (Hercule) provide some villain voices. The next Animerica will also have the first two Fruits Basket episodes and a "preview" to DBGT.

A doctored quote from the original pink bad-ass, Evil Buu. Yeah the new season has started, but I couldn't wait for CN and just starting downloading the episodes a few weeks back. I'm at when Gotenks (after learning SSJ3) is fighting Buu in the hyperbolic Time Chamber. Neato-Burito! Anyway I think FUNimation is doing a great job so far, so for a mini-celebration, I uploaded 9 new pieces of fanart. I mite be adding some of my own soon, and maybe even so more goodies later, but I'll get back to y'all about that. Laaaate.

Reason For Just 39 New Episodes
Posted Friday, September 13, 2002 by Tim
In the interview with Gen Fukunaga that Daniel posted about, the question about the 39 episodes came up:

What about the remaining episodes?

It's going to be done in two stages. First we will air the 53 shows, and then the last mini-saga that we haven't processed yet will probably be shown in the spring [of 2003].

My assumption was correct, the last 14 episodes will be shown in the spring.

Dragon Ball Z Finished and Some Interviews
Posted Friday, September 13, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Well isn't that a depressing title. At this point Kyle Hebert along with a select group of other voice actors are finished dubbing the series. The entire cast will most likely be finished soon as well because only a very small amount of episodes are left. We all knew this day would eventually come and now it is here.

Funimation still has many series left though such as DB, Lupin, Fruits Basket, the upcoming DBGT, One Piece and Tenchi GXP series (as well as the remaining 7 DBZ films) but it is still a bit depressing that the series that first fueled Funimation is basically done with.

Project Neko has an interview with my good friend Stephanie Nadolny voice of Young Goku and Gohan (and she will be reprising her role in GT). ICV2 has done an interview with Gen Fukunaga from Funimation where confirmation once again is done to the 39 episode news. I reccomend checking out both interviews, they are not too long to read. Sam of SzR pointed me in their direction.

To My #1 Fan Steve La, and The Startling Conclusion.....39 Episodes!?!?!?
Posted Tuesday, September 10, 2002 by Tim
This is a joint post between Dan and I.

Gotta love the support from my friend Steve who has been a fan since the site's beginning.

On to news... Sam from SzR sends this word:

Earlier this year CN announced in a press release that 54 new DBZ eps will airthis fall on Cartoon Network (CN). Well, guess what that's not happening.

CN Reps have informed me that only 39 new episodes will be airing starting September 16th, at 6:30 PM (EST/PST). This means that there are approximately 14 or 15 episodes left to complete all the DBZ eps. As of now, Cartoon Network has not released any information on the remaining 14 episodes. Although broadcasting DBZ eps is strictly a Cartoon Network matter and has nothing to do with FUNimation, I have received official confirmation from both parties Cartoon Network and FUNimation.

Cartoon Network's Response: - “If we aired an commercial that states that we will be airing 39 new episodes then we will air 39 episodes.”

FUNimation's Response: - “I checked with the production to verify the number of episodes. The most recent commercial from Cartoon Network is correct: 39 new episodes.”

Now in my opinion, I do believe CN will show the final 14 episodes, maybe in the spring which could help ratings alot since nothing but reruns have been shown for quite some time. As more develops, we will keep you posted.

Link has sent me that last batch of DBGT screenshots so I am in the process of getting them up for all to enjoy.

Sorry to kinda bump your post Daniel, we posted this same news at the same time, but here is what Daniel commented on: There it is. Unfortuantely, the commercials have been correct and suddenly YTV's contract to air the entire season minus four episodes isn't looking too bad.

Well, the storm is still technically not over, but I did say I would update. So, here's a book summary and comic. Enjoy, becuase there are only two more comics left of the 23rd Budoukai.

CN Not to Air Full Season of DBZ
Posted Saturday, September 7, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
I posted about this in my post that was deleted, so it makes sense to redirect what it was. Basically the new DBZ commercial states 39 new DBZ episodes will air this season on Cartoon Network, which means that 14 will go un-aired. I left this just as speculation or some sort of mistake because many times it has been stated that this will be DBZ's final season, but more stuff is popping up confirming this 39 episode news including a confirmation from Jeff, who is in charge of public relations at Funimation. I am still a bit skeptical about what is gonig on or not. Don't freak out though if your season is 14 episodes short. I wil ltry and get the real confirmation here as soon as I can.

I Hate to Bump...

But there's a big hurricane heading my way, so I'm going to take a break on the updating until Monday. Z Store Updated.....Again

Well the store now has new Yu-Gi-Oh!, YYH, and DBZ DVDs. The Kid Buu saga DVDs are also now released in conjunction with the VHS which is good news. I would expect an identical release for the following Kid Buu releases. Dragon Ball cover art is still disapointing as hell. The Cover Guide and Release Date section have been updated to reflect all of this information. More Cell DVDs out as well for all you Cell fans.

One Piece of Information UPDATED
Posted Sunday, September 1, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Funimation has recieved another anime series that will inturn dub and release. This time it is the popular anime series "One Piece". I am familiar with the series actually and I have read the manga. The series is about a child named Luffy (who has a very special ability) who is a pirate and is trying to make a crew and live his dream of becoming a great pirate. It is a good series and I will post more info about Funimation's process on the series as it is revealed. Funimation has also acquired the most recent Tenchi spinoff series, the Galaxy Police series. This series I know little about. This news was taken from the AXNY convention. Source AnimeonDVD.com

Antoher piece of news I have that I have been waiting to post is that the another character in Dragon Ball Z will go through the same process as Mr. Satan went through, a name change. The character in Dragon Ball Z known as Bra will have her name changed to "Bulla". I think the name change is rather obvious because little children apparently can't handle referring to a character by the same name as women's underwear. The name bond between "Bra" and "Trunks" will be broken. I do understand why this is done though and I am assuming the name Bra will be the same in the uncut version...hopefully.

New Dragon Ball Episodes, News on Original 53 DBZ Episodes
Posted Saturday, August 31, 2002 by Tim
CN has announced that new episodes of Dragonball are tentatively scheduled to air on October 21st, 2002. The new DB episodes will begin with episode #54 (Escape From Pirate Cave).

According to the current Anime Invasion Magazine, the distribution license to the first 53 episodes of Dragonball Z, the first two American TV seasons, will revert back to FUNimation from Pioneer at the end of the year. Plans now call for FUNimation to re-script and re-dub these episodes for American release totally uncut and uncensored to bilingual VHS and DVD. How exactly this will be done remains to be seen as an uncut release will expand the 53 American episodes back to their original roughly 75 Japanese episodes and thereby confuse the existing established American episode numbering.

YTV's Contract with DBZ
Posted Thursday, August 29, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
YTV's contract is 53 new episodes premiering with episode 220 (Meal Time) On September 2nd at 8:00pm EST. This contract will mena YTV's last new episode is episode 272 (Celebrations with Majin Buu)...4 episodes short of the final episode. I think we all realise how stupid it is to do this. YTV will most likely not purchase a new contract of DBZ episodes because it is just 4 episodes. So Canada will go without the final 4, unless YTV's contract is 57 episodes even though they told me 53. The final 4 episodes are the events after Buu is killed though, so I can see why they would end there, even though it wouldn't receive it's proper ending. Dragon Ball Z will also only be on at 8:00pm now and no longer 8:30pm.

Dragonball GT will air on the International Channel starting Sunday, November 10, 2002. It will be in the same time slot as Dragonball Z, which will end on on November 3. We don't know whether it will be subtitled. Most likely, it will be in Japanese without subtitles.

Right Now, DragonBall Z uncut in Japanese, is airing on the International Channel Wednesdays at 9:30pm and Sundays at 10:30pm.

Posted Sunday, August 25, 2002 by Mandrew
...on September 16th for the U.S. According to CN.com, the schedule tells that it will complete the Freeza Saga and then move onto "Evil Lives On." So, we have to wait about 15-20 more days, not to mention all the episodes through which FUNi released on video and DVD, if many of you bought them. It will be a chore to wait, but in the end, seeing the final episodes of DBZ will be all worth it. I also decided to not take the day off and give you all a comic today. Help yourselves. Cyas.

Yes, I am at an all time low when my topic actually reflects what is in my post without any clever humor. Here is the news chickadees:

Funimation will have an Industry Panel on Sunday Sept. 1st at 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. President of FUNimation, Gen Fukunaga will be speaking on Anime panel Sunday, September 1 from 5pm to 6pm. Justin Cook, the director of Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball and Fruits Basket and the Voice of Yusuke Urameshi and Dragon Ball Z's Super Buu will have a panel to discuss directing and voice acting. The directing panel time is 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday Sept 1st. The voice acting panel is Saturday, August 31 from 6pm to 8pm. No specific location was listed with this information I am assuming though it will take place at whatever anime expo they are at at the current time. I wil lbe away this Friday through Sunday at CNAnime so PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME E-MAILS UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY. I will have a report of the convention shortly after I get back (much like my report from CNAnime 2001). Kyle Hebert, Josh Martin and Kirby Morrow will be there. An Apology and See Chuck Huber's Face!!
Posted Friday, August 16, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
First off. I want to apologize. This is probably the first time I posted some incorrect info. The information confirmed by "Chris Sabat" I posted a few days back is most likely false. I was sent the info by SzR just telling me it was confirmed by him. I was not directed to the post of it on Funimation's message board. After reading what this "ChrisSabat" had to say and after comments he made. I could tell (along with a lot of others) that it is not him and it is a fraud. If I had been immediately directed t othe board instead of a summary of his post, I wouldn't have made this mistake. The facts that were in this info may be true, but they are in no way confirmed by Chris Sabat. A lot of the info is general speculation which I had already made such as the 4 episodes per release for Kid Buu. Info about 7-8 episodes on DBZ DVD's is most likely false though and I wouldn't hold my breath, a long with the DBZ movie news. I do know that production (although it may be little) has started on Movie 7. This will not happen again.

On a happier tone, Funimation Central has 5 movies of Chuck Huber in the "Web Cam Section" which are worth checking out. Funimation Central als ohas a trailer for the new Lupin Feature, the Blue Gender Boxset, the Return of Cooler and for the Fusion Saga in their "Trailers Section".

Dragon Ball DVDs....Movies 7-9 - Don't Let Your Eyes Leave the Screen
Posted Thursday, August 15, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
First off, I have to credit Sam from SzR. This news is confirmed from Chris "The Man" Sabat himself, so disbelievers....believe!

Dragon Ball Z movies 7-9 will be released next year, with a possible 2003 release for movie 10 also. Movie 7 will premiere on edited and uncut VHS and DVD in January 2003. I am very glad to see that Funimation has increased the production in the movies because at this point we really should be at movie 12.

The Cell Games DVDs will begin release on November 12th and continue until they are parallel to the VHS Cell Games. The "Kid Buu" saga will have 4 tapes/DVDs with 4 episodes each. Apparently what I posted before about the Kid Buu releases was right, and each release will have 4 episodes.

Dragonball GT will premiere on VHS and DVD in late 2003 and will be seen on Cartoon Network in fall 2004, shortly following the conclusion of the home video release.

Original Dragonball will be released to DVD with 7-8 episodes per disc and 3-4 episodes per VHS tape. This information is what I find the most interesting. 7-8 episodes per DVD is A LOT and Funimation has never doen anything like this before on releases. It might be, jsut to catch up with the VHS release, maybe, but that is a lot of episodes and the DVD's may (I would assume) cost more. This is the only piece of info which I am a bit skeptical about because of the large amount of episodes. If it is confirmed by Chris though, I would believe it. Looks like next year is going to be very promising for Dragon Ball.

Funimation Gets New Anime
Posted Wednesday, August 14, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Their latest series is "Kirby". I am assuming this is the anime series based on the popular Nintendo character. The series is planned to air Saturday mornings during FOX Kids new line up. The first volume "Kirby: Kirby Comes to CappyTown" has a November 12, 2002 release date. It costs 20 dollars and runs 60 minutes and dub only. I am not sure at all if Funimation is dubbing this series because of recent acts such as releasing Yu-Gi-Oh! and Cubix, while they don't dub those. I am also not positive this is the Kirby series airing Saturday mornings based on the Nintendo character, but I am assuming it is because it appears to be that way. Once again, I am not sure if Funiamtion is dubbing the series, they are just releasing it. Since the release is dub only (like the Yu-Gi-Oh! releases) I am betting another company dubbed it and Funimation is jsut releasing it. I will psot more details as they come in.

Japanese Dragonball Writer/VA Appearance...Minor Funi Stuff
Posted Monday, August 12, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Here is the scoop courtesy of Sam from SzR: Dragonball Writer (Takao Koyama) and Voice Actress (Mayumi Tanaka) will be appearing at Anime Expo New York 2002. Takao Koyama is one of the main writers for Dragonball and Dragonball Z. Takao Koyama is also the writer for 13 of the 14 Dragonball movies.

Mayumi Tanaka is the Japanese voice actress for Kuririn/Krillin and Yajirobe. They will be appearing at Anime Expo New York this Labor Day, September 2nd 2002. They will be doing both panels and autographs.

I would check it out if you are in the area. Funimation Central has also updated their site with a few more wallpapers and a game called "Capsule Corp Lander".

Return of Cooler and YYH Toys
Posted Sunday, August 11, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Courtesy of DragonBallToys.com are some pictures of some upcoming toys that were displayed at the San Diego Comic Con. The only DBZ ones that are shown are "Battle Damaged SSJ Vegeta" and "Krillin in Space Suit" but they both look excellent. The detail put in their faces and everything is incredible. The Yu Yu Hakusho toys are also very well done. The DBZ Gallery is here (although it contains some YYH toys) and the YYH Gallery is here. Apparently both are due out in "Summer 2002" so keep your eyes open for them.

YTV Stuff- Be Glad You Don't Have It
Posted Saturday, August 10, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
YTV is having a "Sneak Preview Day" on September 2nd from 12pm-6pm. In this vague 6 hour time slot will be a new DBZ episode (yes 1 new episode). A lot of people have been saying the episode they are playing is episode 200- Forfeit of Piccolo....this is not a new episode. I am assuming YTV will air episode 220, which is the proper new episode. Starting September 3rd. YTV will begin its new DBZ schedule starting with episode 220 (You can watch it two days in a row!!). YTV is also uncertain how many episodes they have the rights to....

YTV.com also has an interesting feature. They have a chat on Thursday's with an "anime master" and apparently you ask him questions and if you can ask him one he can't get, you get the satisfaction of BEATING YTV!!! Each week the chat is based on a certain anime of YTV (this week it is a general topic, meaning every anime there is). I have not had the "pleasure" of doing this, but I will sure to be there this Thursday. They had a themed chat for soley DBZ and only 5 people beat him. I find this hard to believe. I don't know who this "Anime master" is, but I would like to see how much he really does know. I am also sorry if I offend anyone who does like YTV. I just think they have made some foolish decision and I would much prefer to have Cartoon Network, Canada does not get Cartoon Network though. Everyone also visitSonnyStrait.com certain people such as TV's Chris Rager, Kyle Hebert, and Justin Cook have come. Do you think you are better than them? Of coure you don't. So come to the site....today!

I am Back!
Posted Friday, August 9, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Yep, back from my trip and ready to post news again. I looked at what had gone in the last week, and it is mainly GT stuff. I really don't know what was the big deal about all of this. It was basically common knowledge that GT would be airing next year, AT THE EARLIEST. It would make no sense to air GT in conjunction with DBZ when DBZ is not even finished airing yet. Funimation hasn't even started working or casting for GT yet either. Hopefully some news will surface this week. Oh, and Jon's pictures are delightful.

Working Hard, Working More
Posted Wednesday, August 7, 2002 by Mandrew
Since my summer ends August 14, I'm catching up on stuff I wanted to do all summer. I'm finishing up one more brand new section and will hopefully release it Monday. After that, I'll get my dusty scanner to work and do lots of scans... about 260 to 270 scans. That'll take some time, but in the end, you will thank me, because no other site has the stuff I have. Just so everyone knows, I probably will slow down on the Adventure History stuff come one week from today, due to work, school, sports, socializing, and some other stuff. Now that I have given my excuse and you hate me more than usual, here is two more comics for ya. Enjoy.

Final Word from Cartoon Network on DBGT
Posted Tuesday, August 6, 2002 by Tim
Sam from SzR sent this in:

I have contacted Toonami/Cartoon Network Reps. about DBGT and new DBZ episodes. This is what they had to say.

"Hi Sam,
I think that there might have been a misunderstanding. Dragonball GT will not be airing on Cartoon Network in September 2002. However, the new Dragon Ball Z episodes will begin September 16, 2002."

So DBGT is definetly not airing on Cartoon Network this year. That is the official word from Cartoon Network. And Season 6 of DBZ, New episodes will start September 16, 2002.

I think this should put all rumors of GT in 2002 to rest, and I assume this means they will come out in September 2003 like I have been hearing for over a year.

Correction on News of DBGT
Posted Sunday, August 4, 2002 by Tim
Kyle Hebert has informed me "to the best of his knowledge, Funimation is currently not working on DBGT and it will not be out by September on Cartoon Network." Personally, I still believe DBGT will be out late 2003. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Hot News about Cartoon Network
Posted Sunday, August 4, 2002 by Tim
Credit Sam of Saiyanz Rage:

Aug. 5th will see the premier of Mobile Fighter G Gundam series on Cartoon Network.

A Japanese Producer working with Raijin Comics claims that there will be a new anime shown simultaniously both here and in Japan after September. The series will be shown here on Cartoon Network. Details about this new show will be revealed at Nan Desu Kan where he is a guest.

This series was later revealed to be the new Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex by a high level Cartoon Network executive. As he puts it, "I've seen this show and it is awesome." We know from comments made in the Bandai panel that this series will be broadcast in October.

The exec also confirmed the existance of the 2nd season of Big O. According to him, they (CN) were un-happy with how the Big O series ended and they managed to persuade the studio into doing a second season. This same approach is being taken with Cowboy Bebop as they try and convince the studio to produce a second season of as well.

New episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho will be shown sometime this fall (4th Qtr).

In support of the Shonen Jump release, Cartoon Network plans to roll out a new web site called: Adult Swim Reactor. From this website you can read the manga, see videos and other related stuff. Look for it on the web in November. For more on Shonen Jump, click the full story link. [Full Story]

DBGT Coming Earlier Than Expected!?
Posted Sunday, August 4, 2002 by Mandrew
You can find the full news link here but let me point out something beforehand. It talks about Adult Swim Action, the one that comes on on Saturdays. But the weird thing it mentions is, that DBGT will come too! Does this mean that FUNimation will start less censoring and more cursing? Or will they go their usual way and make Dragon Ball bad again? Kind of weird they would try to do so great a show that Japan thought was so horrible, but hey! That's FUNimation for you. Here's what the article has to say:

Also announced was that Dragonball GT is currently in dubbing and will air on Cartoon Network in September. Previously ANN suggested that statement regarding a September broadcast we rumour as our sources suggested the series was not yet dubbing.

So, new episodes of DB, DBZ, and DBGT could come during September! Hopefully, this is all true, and FUNimation will try once more to create another good anime. Sad it's only 64 episodes long and the only good parts are at the very end of the series. Anyways, I have no new AH comic today, since usually I take Sundays off. But I HAD to get this news out. Alright everyone, hopefully this will turn out to be true, since it is only a month away. Cyas later.

News 0wnj00
Posted Thursday, August 1, 2002 by Mandrew
Here is another chapter to the Adventure History, concluding the death of Piccolo Daimaou. Also, Cowboy Bebop fans unite! Look at this news for BAAF, if you live in the New York area. Later in the PR one of the titles is mentioned by name, but not in reference to the Astrovision screen, "The festival will feature the world premiere the theatrical English dubbed version of "Cowboy Bebop: The Movie," a sci-fi action adventure scheduled for theatrical release by TriStar Pictures in early 2003. At the premiere, Cowboy Bebop director, Shinichiro Watanabe, score composer, Yoko Kanno and Character Designer, Toshihiro Kawamoto will be on hand to meet their legions of fans. Thanks goes to Anime News Network.

Also aside from that, A Fan's View has posted the Otakon pictures. Looks pretty good, but A-Kon really does 0wnj00. Also, for those who just LOVED Neon Genesis Evangelion's Death and Rebirth movie, click here for some good info on it and some stuff for new people, plus they will show a five week screening of different movies. Just so everyone knows, in about two months, the final Evangelion movie, End of Evangelion, will come out. Everyone should buy it because it 0wnj00.

That's about it for now. Cyas later.

Let's See... Neon Genesis, Shonen Jump, America Turning Into Japan...
Posted Wednesday, July 31, 2002 by Mandrew
Eh, it really does seem anime has found a new home, with so many American shows now-a-days trying to be "anime" aka Samurai Jack. But, on the other hand, thanks to dubbing and anime distribution companies, as well as manga translators, we have a WIDE abundance of material to get our greedy, little hands on. In all the years I've collected anime (a little over 14) I've never seen so much anime being pushed out so fast now. Better work harder on your summer jobs, because you'll want to get all you can before school. I can't wait for Shonen Jump to come, mostly because I'm tired of reading the Japanese one and some of the comics I don't read. I HIGHLY recommened trying to get Issue #0 of Shonen Jump, for it will go in high value many years later. Suncoast and other comic shops are giving them out for free, but leave some for other people. Then, when November comes, collect'em monthly! You can go here for the website, sign up on e-mail, and subscribe for 12 months. These are the manga that they will have in the comic book for this issue:

Yu Yu Hakusho by Yoshihiro Togasami.
Yu-Gi-Oh! by Kazuki Takahashi.
One Piece by Eiichiro Oda.
SandLand by Akira Toriyama.
Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto.
Dragon Ball Z by Akira Toriyama.
Shaman King by Hiroyuki Taki.

Thanks to Anime News Network for the info on it.

Now, here is the next three installment for the AH. Enjoy.

Dragon Ball Z Movie Cards/Kent Williams
Posted Saturday, July 27, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Frist off, Kent Williams (Supreme Kai, Tao Pai Pai and Dr. Gero) has his own Offical Site up at Kent-Williams.com. Site looks very promising and it already has tw ointerviews up with Kent, as well as lots of information on himself. I highly suggest you check it out.

DragonBall Toys.com posted this information regarding Dragon Ball Z cards revolving around the movies... "In the August issue of Diamond Previews, there are two limited edition versions of Dragonball Z Filmcardz Tins! Each tin will feature eye-popping Dragonball Z graphics inside and out, and will contain 5 hobby packs of Dragonball Z Filmcardz, a DBZ Filmcardz viewer, and an exclusive T1 or T2 Filmcardz, and are limited to 1000 pieces. These Filmcardz are the same ones that we previously reported would be coming packaged with IF Labs second series of Dragonball Z figures, due late summer/early fall."

Over 300 Pages!

I wanted to mention this yesterday, but never got the chance. I found out I have added 302 pages of information as of today, and I'm still going, completely original and nothing stolen. By the time I'm done on this website, I want to get up to about 700-800 pages. Hopefully, I can reach my goal. Anyways, here's page 302, but comic 153 of the Piccolo Daimaou Saga, original and off of Pojo now! Cyas.

Here's five new additions to the Adventure History, because I want to hurry up and get past Pojo, which has happened today. I've ended it on comic 152, whereas Pojo is on 151. So, go and see some brand new stuff you've probably never heard about. Aside from that, I've been working on another website, school work, computer work, job work, socializing, reading, and telling plenty of insane people on AIM to stop being insane. I love my job(s)... and the cover to Lupin looks pretty cool too. And the big bald beast would kill me for saying this, but I need money for Escaflowne... cyas.

DBGT pics added, and some pluggage

Also, even though this isn't DBZ related, KyleHebert.com has an interview with Petera Burchard, who does the voice of Ryoko on Tenchi Muyo. It is worth a read so go take a look.

Ready for Releases
Posted Friday, July 26, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Yes, I can use alliteration. What's that? You don't care? Okay. The ZStore have added the next 2 DBZ releases (September 17th), the next DBZ DVD (September 3rd) and the next Lupin release (September 24th) to their store. Cover art is a bit better (I like the cover for the new Lupin title) The latest Fusion saga release also has 4 episodes on it, so I suggest you pick it up when the time comes. The title for the release "The Last Saiyaman" turns out to be actually "The Last Saiyan". This was probably just a miscommunication when Rightstuf reported the info months ago. These are also the last releases in the "Fusion Saga", with the next saga being "Kid Buu". I am also assuming there are only 4 "Kid Buu" releases based on the information from Rightstuf. This would mean 4 episode per each "Kid Buu" release, although this seems unlikely. Or, there may be one more release after these 4, which will contain 4 episodes and the rest contain 3. I updated the Cover Guide and Release Date section to reflect this information. Dragon Ball Z.com also concluded that Jet Li got the most votes to play Goku in the Live Action Film. You can now vote for who you want to play Vegeta. Let me remind you, the winners of these polls are not who will be playing the parts, nor does Dragon Ball Z.com have any say in who is casted in the parts.

I saw Austin Powers 3 yesterday, I rwally enjoyed it. If you don't like Mike Myers though, I would suggest against the film, you can see "The Country Bears" instead.

Gatorade or Soda? Soda.
Posted Thursday, July 25, 2002 by Mandrew
Yet, one more addition onto the Piccolo Daimaou Saga. In about a week, we should be getting past Pojo. Those people there don't know how to do the work like I do, since I re-did all the summaries on here, since I don't want it to be like Pojo's anyway. So, just saying, pretty soon, totally brand new summaries should be coming. Cyas.

New Dragon Ball Releases
Posted Wednesday, July 24, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
THe latest DB releases Fortune Teller Baba: Surprise Reunion, and Fortune Teller Baba: The Seventh Dragon Ball are available to pre-order at the ZStore. Their release dates are August 27th. I will have the Cover Guide and Release Dates sections updated for these tomorrow probably. The covers are not very good again in this case, what I find more interesting is the cover for "The Seventh Dragon Ball". The cover itself is very plain but on the cover, it clearly says "Dragonall" and bot "Dragon Ball". Also on "Surprise Reunion", "Surprise" is spelt "Suprise". Will these problems be fixed by release date? Only time will tell.

Well, at our friend Bruce Faulconer's site you can see about his newest CD, The Best of DBZ Volume III. A release date is not out for the CD yet but the site does have the tracklist (which can be found in the "Full Story" portion of this post if you don't want to go to the site) as welll as some samples of the newest tracks. A little confused on how some of the track titles mention "Doubler" because his name in the dub was "Dabura", this may not be the final name of the tracks, but if they are, some people may be confused. If you like Faulconer's music, you will most likely enjoy this CD's 40 tracks. [Full Story]

Something to Post About
Posted Friday, July 19, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Well, news has been pretty low lately. I have two little tidbits for you though. One being that Kent Williams has an Official Website in the works that I will post the address to once it is completely up. The second being that YTV is having a marathon of the movies/specials on August 2nd from 8pm-2:30am. What kind of timeslot is this. How about you schedule it earlier because children will not want to watch Lord Slug at 1am in the morning, in fact they won't want to watch Lord Slug at all. I am not sure if this is the same marathon they mentioned to me earlier which would have "brand new episodes". I am assuming it isn't and there will be another marathon. Brian Drummond sends his love kiddies! I will post more news as it comes but unfortunately, it has been pretty.....slow.....lately. Until we meet again.

DBZ Gameboy Game is Out!
Posted Sunday, July 14, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
This news is credited to TW who happened to tip me off. The DBZ Gameboy game "Legendary Super Warriors" which I had posted several screen shots and information about in the past weeks is now available....in the UK, Europe and Japan. Yes, so us in Canada and USA will not be able to get the game unless you order it. The main reason for this is because the game uses the correct character names such as "Tenshinhan" rather than "Tien" so the game is probably being localised so children are not confused. The game WAS real though, which many people were skeptical about.

Also, my old website Saiyanz Rage (www.saiyanz-rage.net) is gonig to be back online. This kind of made me a bit awkward about if I should return to the site, because after it's sudden departure, I came to Legacy. I have chosen to remain at Legacy though because I love this crazy place and all of it's crazy fans. Farewell for now.

Meet the DBZ/Yu Yu Hakusho Voice Actors
Posted Monday, July 8, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Yep, more chances to meet those zany people who voice those other zany people in our TV screens. Here is the scoop:

This Tuesday, July 9, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. CDT the voice stars from Dragon Ball Z and Yu Yu Hakusho will be making a special guest appearance at the Irving Public Library. The line up includes: Kyle Hebert, voice of Teenage Gohan, Chris Rager, voice of Hercule, Josh Martin, voice of Majin Buu, Sonny Strait, voice of Krillin, and Sean Teague, voice of Koenma. The stars will host a voice acting discussion, sign autographs, and judge an art contest for the kids that attend. There will also be an animation cell demonstration.

Excited? You should be! I would be posting more, but it seems less and less news is appearing. I will post a lot more, as soon as more becomes available. Check out Excel Saga if you have not already.....mission failed.

Can I do anymore more? I could, but then what would I do?

I've added a new Adventure History additions in the AH and have also made a new section. It's called Aura, which some sites have, but I've decided to try my luck. You might learn something. And finally, take a look at this funny pic from Dragon Ball Toys.com. Thanks to Preston Davis for the info. It's called an I-Man, but I call it legos. Anyways, enjoy the updates.

Canadian DBZ News/ Funi Specials at Long Beach
Posted Wednesday, July 3, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Here is what YTV has told me, it leaves a bit t obe desired, "We will have a DBZ Marathon during the long-weekend of August which will feature brand new episodes. The specials we aired earlier will also be back". Last time I checked there was no long weekend in August so I am unsure of the exact date. They didn't specify if the marathon was only new episodes or not or if the specials (Movies 1-4 plus History of Trunks, Bardock: Father of Goku) will be included. YTV normally does a promotion like this before airing the continuous amount of new episodes in late September/early October.

Also the Anime Expo at Long Beach California (July 4-7) will be having some very appealing deals. July 5 you can watch a screening of Blue Gender as well as meet Eric Vale and buy the 3 Blue Genders DVDs for a total of 20$. On July 6 you can watch a screening of Yu Yu Hakusho as well as meet Laura Bailey and buy the 2 newest YYH DVDs for 15$. Sounds good to me. Yu Yu Hakusho marathon on Cartoon Network soon as well....

I've got a brand new Adventure History section and comic for you all. Sorry for my absence, but I have been sick and I did give you all, what, fourteen chapters in one update? Cut me some slack! I am only one person! Anyways, I got my "big thing" today done and it went very well. For those that know me well, know what I'm talking about. But, I would perfer to be hush hush about it until I know exactly what the deal is with it. I just don't want bragging around saying I did something you all couldn't. Anyways, enjoy the update and hopefully I can be back with another Monday. Cyas.

Lots of Stuff to Mention
Posted Saturday, June 29, 2002 by Tim
First off, The Crossfire Awards have posted their nominations, and Legacy is nominated for best overall site, most unique, most effort, and best webmaster (Tim). Daniel Kurland has already won an award for his Community Contributions. The final awards will be given tonight or tomorrow. Hope we win!

The screenshots section is getting some massive renovations to it. As Switcher reported, we lost all fanart and screenshots, so he has been posting any fanart sent to him. Link has been helping me out with some screenshots, all from DBGT. Right now, pictures from episodes 1-6 are posted, so make sure to check them out, as 7-20 will be added as soon as possible.

Got a Happy Birthday shout out to Jerry of Masenko-Ha.

And finally, want to see some pics of your favorite Legacy staff? Planet Kanassa has posted pictures of Jon Allen, Mandrew, and myself in his webmaster pics section. Others to note in this section are Castor Troy of GGG, Mr E of Planet Namek, Meri of Temple of Trunks, and many others.

Funimation Release Dates
Posted Friday, June 28, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Alright Rightstuf.com has some new DB releases to taunt us with. Here is what is scheduled:
October 1: DragonBall: Fortune Teller Baba: Goku's Journey
October 1: DragonBall: Tien Shinhan: Tournament Day
October 1: DBZ Movie Feature Pack (Movies 4-6) (Both DVD/VHS)

This introduces a new saga for DB. I am glad they kept Tien's original name, it may leave a few dubbies from Z though scratching their heads. Funimation also has Blue Gender Volumes 6 and 7 scheduled for this date.

Now, Rightstuf also had the first volume of Fruits Basket for a October 29 release date. I think this isn't right though. Funimation is currently casting the parts right now and the disc supposedly has 6 episodes on it. This is a lot of work to do by then when you put into consideration Funi's other properties, I very well could be wrong here though. I will update the Release Date section with the DB/DBZ news.

DBZ Series 9 Toy Images and Info
Posted Thursday, June 27, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Courtesy of these images goes out to DragonBallToys.com,like usual. The images of the toys are for Babidi, Majin Buu, Pui Pui, Hercule (Mr.Satan), and Krillin (with hair). All of the toys come with accessories excluding Mr. Satan, Pui Pui and Krillin and are all scheduled to be released in JULY. Also apparently, the most recent Series 7 toys have been released with a Hero Collection Card, rather than a DBZ CCG card. If this trend continues, the Series 9 toys will probably have them as well. In my opinion this is a good idea. Finally for you die-hard toy fans, the Golden Haired Majin Vegeta toy has been released in certain areas, so check yours if you are interested.

I won't ramble on here more than I need to. I jsut watched the SS3 Gotenks Vs. Super Buu fight. I was pleased, moves such as Galactica Donuts and Dynamite Kick were changed to Cosmic Halo and Nuclear Kick. No big deal though. The move Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack was kept intact along with a scene of Gotenks giving Buu the finger (It will probably be removed in the censored version). Kyle's Message Board took down the post regarding the (95% fake) movie poster for DBZ. An alternative link can be found here.

As some may or may not have noticed, pics and fanart have been down recently. All of our files got wiped, but there is a silver lining, fanart is now back up...with MY work! As it was the only stuff we had saved on a hard drive, it's the first to be back up. There's some new stuff there too, so be sure to check it out. Also, to people who had sent their fanart in before, or they would like to now, PLEASE mail me your various pieces, and they must be scanned, not photographs, kay? Well that's all for now! Gotta go back to playing Eternal Darkness, best game ever!

DBZ Movie Poster
Posted Tuesday, June 25, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
I found this little interesting piece of info o Kyle Hebert's Message Board posted by Ryman. Here is a link to the thread. I think the poster itself looks pretty cool (although I don't know what that cylindrical object at the top of poster is), but there is a huge chance the poster is fake. I doubt FOX would have made a poster for the movie this early in advance. There is also talk about how FOX doesn't use the 20th Centruy FOX logo anymore....So, I do not have the answer to if this is fake or not, and it most likely is fake in my opinion. Also, movie posters may go through dozens of changes before the final draft, so this could have actually been one of the first drafts (or even the final draft) of the poster. We will only have to wait and see, or someone can call up the happy people of FOX and say, "Hey Goober, is this poster real?" Until next time.

Legacy of Goku News
Posted Friday, June 21, 2002 by Tim
This from the official site:

Thanks to you DBZ fans, video game sales results for May 2002 showed that Dragon Ball Z® Legacy of Goku was far and away the #1 title for Game Boy® Advance (GBA) during the period, according to NPDFunworld TRSTS Video Games Services. Not only was Dragon Ball Z® Legacy of Goku #1 but it crushed the nearest competitors. The explosive performance of Dragon Ball Z® Legacy of Goku also catapulted the game to the #2 slot among the Top 100 Selling Video Games for May 2002, and the #28 slot for the year to date, according to NPDFunworld. When combined with the strong sales of Infogrames’ Dragon Ball Z®: Collectible Card Game, which debuted in late May, the Dragon Ball Z® franchise earned Infogrames the #1 rank among all GBA publishers for May 2002.

Now I don't really have that good of an opinion on this game, but I guess it is good news that the DBZ game is the top seller.

Daniel Kurland wins an Award
Posted Wednesday, June 19, 2002 by Tim
Over at the Crossfire Awards, Daniel Kurland has won an award:

The Crossfire Community Tribute Award

Each year, at the Crossfire Summer Awards, Crossfire awards a tribute to a webmaster who we feel has made the biggest impact on the community thus far. The individual must still be active in Anime websites, because we honor individuals who have retired from the community in our annual awards. This year's winner of the Crossfire Community Tribute Award, a non-nomination tribute award, is Daniel Kurland.

Congratulations to Daniel for this. The Crossfire Awards are taking nominations in several categories, so if you have a favorite anime site or favorite webmaster on the net, nominate them!

GamePro Email, More on DBZ GBC
Posted Wednesday, June 19, 2002 by Tim
Well I went ahead and emailed GamePro, and they told me that Robert Watkins does NOT work for them, so his email that is posted is just his opinion about whether or not the DBZ GBC game is real.

Unfortunately, no one can really tell at this point. The thing that is bugging me is... If Infogrames is making a new game, 1)Why GBC? and 2)Why not the US? Lots of things need to be answered...

So, I went ahead and re-uploaded the entire thing, accept for a few spots here and there that still have to be worked or re-worked. I'm also working on a Review and Guide for "The Legacy of Goku" on GBA. I just got the game yesterday and I'm playing thru it now. Stayed tuned.

People have been coming to me time and time again on the internet about everyone on the sites A-Kon, so I figure I'll try and get mine up. Finally, my A-Kon summary
Posted Saturday, June 15, 2002 by Tim
I have finally posted my A-Kon 13 summary to go along with my pictures, so go check it out in the Anime Conventions section.

I went to Stephanie Nadolny's signing today and got her to sign the Dragon Ball Goku with Boss Rabbit figure, but little did I know another signing was happening in my city, and this one had Chris Sabat and Sean Schemmel at Collin Creek Mall in Plano. I don't know of anyone who had this news, and dragonballz.com must have posted it late last night or something. Good advertising FUNi. But, I did enjoy getting to talk to Stephanie again, who actually remembered me from A-Kon. She will be at AnimeFEST here in Dallas Labor Day weekend along with our good buddy Kyle Hebert.

On a final note, Happy Late Birthdays to Kyle Hebert as well as the Official Site Hugger and good friend of mine, Sarah aka Pan-chan. Kyle's bday was Friday and Sarah's Thursday.

Pre-Order Return of Cooler Today!
Posted Saturday, June 15, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
ZStore.com now has Return of Cooleravailable. The film is released on August 13 on both DVD and VHS. This is one of the better DBZ Movies and the cover art for this film isn't that bad. It is obviously a step up from Movie 5's cover and I am pleased with it. It also isn't a direct screen shot. The cover of this film will be added to the Cover Guide as soon as I get a few minutes. That's seems to be it for now. Now I am off to make love to my beautiful wife in my wonderful mansion.

Betcha Weren't Expecting This!

Sixteen Chapters or the whole Urani Ba Ba Saga has been added to the Adventure History. You got your goodies, but here is the bad news. I am going in and out of town next week, so who knows if I can get to the internet or not, much less this site. And then after that, I'll have to take that week off, because, well, I've been trying to get extra far ahead so I can get these sixteen chapters out. So, have fun with your goods now, because it will be a while before I can actually update again. Cyas everyone.

American Shonen Jump
Posted Friday, June 14, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
First off, I want to apologize for not posting lately. There really hasn't been much news at all and I just had my Birthday, so I have been busy. School just ended for me though, so hopefully I can start working on some new sections.

Apparently Viz is planning on releasing a monthly 250 page magazine based on the Japanese Shonen Jump (American Shonen Jump is the tentative title and is NOT final). The mgazine will feature the manga of DragonBall Z and Yu-Gi-Oh! among others that have yet to be revealed. I think this is a pretty good idea and Viz is one of the company who is doing something right. Oh yes, it is some voice actors Birthday today, not sure who, think his name starts with an R? or an X? Oh right, it is Kyle Hebert. Happy Birthday!

Miscellaneous Notes
Posted Wednesday, June 5, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Well KyleHebert.com is down temporarily. But when they get back, they will have a lot of goodies from A-kon, believe me! Some of the guest list of CNAnime in Toronto was revealed and Eric Vale and Chris Sabat will be attending, to my content.

I went to Eric's celebrity chat tonight and frankly I was a little annoyed, not with Eric, but with the "fans". Now, a lot of people asked some good questions, including myself. A lot of questions were also repeats of other questions and a lot of questions were just plain stupid and even offensive to Eric. A handful went like "Are you retarded?", "What part of you is demented?", "Why are you crazy?". Now Eric answered msot of these questions, but you people should really not pick on him or any of the voice actors for that matter. You are free to not like them, don't insult them in their own chat though. That is like me going to your house and then insulting you. After the chat, people satill made fun of him even more and complained for their questinos not getting asked. Eric had nothing to do with what questinos were asked! This isn't directed to everyone, so don't take offense if you did not heckle him. I just thought I should post this little rant, hope you don't mind? You don't? Good. Until next time...

I will be there most likely, and if you have ever been eager to talk to Eric, this is your chance. I was also informed the link I posted about the DBZ GBC Game does not work. Another DBZ Game and an Interview with THE Daniel Kurland!!
Posted Friday, May 31, 2002 by Daniel Kurland
Now, Duncan Roberts sent me this info pertaining to a new DBZ Game for the Game Boy Color. A number of things make me think this game is fake. Game Boy Color games are seldom being made, they are for the Game Boy Advance. This is another CCG game and I don't see the point in Funimation making two games that basically revolve around the same thing. The game has a June 30 release date which is fairly soon and you would think we would have heard soemthing about it by now. The game's cover art can also be seen on the following link and it has the title "Super Legendary Warriors" much like the PS2 game I posted about a few days ago. The link for the game is here. On the Hmmmmm Scale, this gets an 8. I doubt is is real, so prove me wrong Infogrames. Prove me wrong!

Also a website called The Late Show with Jon decided to interview me. The interview can be foudn by clicking "play" in the top right corner of the site and it should be up for a week. It will then be moved into "Previous Shows". The interview has a bit of rambling at the start, but when I come in it gets itneresting, heh. Not too much about DBZ, just some jokes and you can see how hillarious I am. CHECK IT OUT!!!??

Mr. "ORIGINAL" Piccolo, da man himself, Scott McNeil). ::drools:: Uh, oh, sorry. I'm excited and will take lots of pictures for you all to see. Of course, I'll edit out my face! Muahahaha!
