Reprinting of the Dragon Ball Manga in Japan...
Vegetto707X sent this bit in...

A new Magazine starting up in Japan called "Manga On-ga!" will be reprinting the entire run of Dragonball soon. The new Magazine is dedicated to the art of Manga and the history of some classics. Along with Dragonball they'll be reprinting other JUMP series such as Hokuto no Ken and Slam Dunk. Each of these issues (Bi-Weekly) will feature new covers by various artists for their respective works, along with some classics. This is news for a few reasons, including new Toriyama Dragonball art, restored full color and 4-color pages, and new fan interest (Which has also led satelite channel "Animaxi" to rerun Dragonball/Z in Japan)

To make things even more interesting, Dragonball's liscensing rights are back out on the table. I'll get a scan of the Manga On-Ga ad if you want it (It's in this week's Shonen Jump) and the new Magazine should be available in import book shops like Kinokuniya by march. The rest of the information is in most Japanese trade papers and was on Tokyo FNC last week.

The main thing that excites me about this is the new Toriyama Dragon Ball art. We haven't seen our main man so much as doodle Goku in years, and it would be neat to have some fresh images straight from the dude himself.

Kyle Hebert Attending IF Labs Commercial Shoot
It would appear that Kyle Hebert caught my post the other night and decided to join in on the fun at Planet Anime today. He'll also be joining them at the shooting at Lone Star Comics Dallas tommorow at 2:00pm, because let's be honest, he lives at Lone Star Comics when he's not working for Funimation or on the radio. I should make it clear that tommorow's shoot is not an autograph signing, but you can think of it as an added bonus that you can say hi to Gohan while you're trying to get into an action figure commercial. Don't worry, there will be many other chances to maul Kyle to sign your unmentionables. The dude you'll see with the long blond hair is Aaron Davidson, so be sure to get an "A DAWG!" chant going, or just say hi to him and Matt for me.

Chatroom Name Changed.
Not too much mind you, but yes, there has been a small change in PN.com's chatroom. Since #namek chat channels pop up on numerous servers, we've changed ours to #namekofficial, and Skullmac has changed the java interface to reflect that. The renamed channel is still on the irc.homelan.com server, but any channel simply titled #namek as opposed to #namekofficial is simply a haven for comedically challenged pricks who fill conversations with the very idiocy that plagues their insignificant lives with an incorrect sense of what is funny (hence the label of "comedically challenged"). In one such case, the prick goes by the moniker of Rekka, and all hate him. To recap, The only chatroom this site is affiliated with is #namekofficial on irc.homelan.com, which will now be slightly more closely moderated, and Rekka sucks. Thank you, and enjoy the updates below this one, especially the one about the IF Labs figure commercial.

New IF Labs Commercial Being Shot, Chance For Fans To Be In It
Hoping to improve upon the hokey Irwin commercials, IF Labs is going to be filming their own advertisements in the Dallas, Texas area at Planet Anime tomorrow and at Lone Star Comics Thursday. They'll be showing the new line of IF Labs DBZ figures to people, and interviewing them on their thoughts. As an added bonus, the commercial will be an extra on forthcoming Dragonball Z DVDs, so if you're looking to one up me on how many lines you have on a DBZ DVD (And I know that you are. Damn you people, trying to ruin my glory), be sure to check it out as the more people that show up, the better. Both of the commercial shootings will be at 2:00 pm, so there'll be plenty of wholesome sunshine and natural light. You know, the stuff that Mr.E is afraid of. Thanks for the info goes to THE Aaron Davidson, and John Staudacher, master of the funky chicken. Remember, the shootings are at Planet Anime tommorow (Wednesday) at 2:00pm, and Lone Star Comics Dallas on Thursday at 2:00pm.

Now stop emailing me about why I linked to that Chinese Flash music video and go attend this action figure thing! NOW!!! IT'S COOL!!!

Sean Schemmel's Dignity: Defeated.
Ever wonder what that wacky whack job of a whacker is doing when he's not whacking or being wacky (voicing Gokuu)? Well, among other things, he symbolically battles DBZ purists in the form of a small alien puppet in he and Dwip's latest and as of yet only adventure, "Midnight Snack."

Check out the official "defeatyou" website and download the streaming real player episode for a laugh or two. I'm told the next installment is on it's way, so check back on it from time to time. By the way, I'm kidding about the "fighting DBZ purists" crack...kinda...but I do apologize to all Asian people everywhere who watch Midnight Snack.

Community News: You learn something new every day...
Only a few things to report... but I've got a bit of news afterward, so:

In other news, I've found out a connection that I never knew. After perusing FUNimation's Yu Yu Hakusho site, and noticing that they were carrying over the "King Yama" label for Enma Daiou (the ruler of the afterlife), I decided to do some investigating... and it seems that the Enma of east-Asian myth is the same as the Hindu god Yama-Raja (literally "King Yama"), Lord and Judge of the Dead in Indian folklore. Apparently, this was brought to China with Buddhism, and it became "Enma". So... if you care about this sort of thing, FUNimation's dub name for him isn't a mistake; it's just odd that they would use the Hindu name. I've updated the Bios: E page with this info, but I don't have a picture for the character as of yet. Well... I do, but not from DBZ. I'll find one, eventually. Until then, just stare at the nice default picture that means "image not found".

Anyway... that's that for this week. Later.

Catching Up...
Yes, I know...we've been updating very little recently. There's just been nothing to report. Anyhow, two more VA transcripts are available at the official site, in case you want to read them (Guess which webmaster who goes by a single letter doesn't! I bet you can't!).

That's all guys. I wish I could pull news out of my ass, but quite frankly I don't think you want to fish through my waste to know what I ate last night. OK, that was a little disgusting. I'm not going into the reasons why I'm not doing content updates again. I'm a little tired of telling it, and I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing it.

Anyhow...we're supposed to see the first in-game screenshots of the GBA cartridge really soon via a few popular gaming magazines, so that should be interesting. Let's hope it's not as crappy as the rumors have suggested.
