Gohan's
Vengeance
Chapter Five: "Stadium
Explosion: The Monster
Is Found"
It wasn't as easy as it sounded.
Android #22 was laying low. Still, the Z-fighters continued searching.
It didn't catch them by surprise when the entire Tenka'ichi Budokai
stadium exploded in blue-flame, killing at least 40,000 innocent
people. A Budokai wasn't being held at the time; instead, the stadium
was being used for a rock concert.
Master Roshi was watching it on the news. "Oh gosh, I sure hope
those boys are doing a good job of finding that beast," he told
#18, who was staying there with him.
Gohan was first to sense it. "Oh no! It feels like…a whole
bunch of people's lives just ENDED!!!"
"Ah! I feel it too! Let's go," Yamcha said.
"Follow me…if you can keep up, that is!" Vegeta snickered.
They arrived at the Budokai stadium. There Android #22 was, sitting.
He looked as if he were waiting for them.
"BASTARD!!!" and Vegeta wasted no time blasting #22's arm
off.
"Ahh! He is mechanical!" Chioutzu said, in sheer terror. The
wires and metal cords hanging from the Android"s severed forearm
began wiggling and sparking. A single thin rod came from his wiry
stump. All of the sudden, tiny electric wires began wrapping around
the rod. The wires and cords wrapped themselves around each other,
growing thicker and thicker. A blanket of armored skin spilled over
the new arm. He was healed.
"Damn! He can regenerate!" Tienshinhan pondered.
"That won't be a problem," Vegeta smiled evilly.
"I knew you would come," #22 laughed mechanically.
"Always saving the day whenever trouble is near! How cute!"
"If you wanted to meet with us, why didn't you just send me an
email?" Krillin asked innocently.
"Krillin's right! Why'd you have to kill all these people?"
Gohan angrily asked.
"I wanted to lure you here…and have a little fun while doing
it!" Ha, Ha, Hah!!!" The demon laughed. "By the way,
boy, is that fear in your voice?" giggled #22.
"Yes, they're ALL scared," Vegeta confessed. "Except
for that Namek over there, but he's just plain stupid!"
"Namek? Piccolo?" Gohan looked around.
A green figure emerged from the ruins of the stadium. "Unafraid,
yes, but stupid, no! I knew Gero wouldn't stop with Cell, he had to
build another toy," sneered Piccolo.
"But Dr. Gero is dead, isn't he?" Yamcha asked, fearfully.
"Yes, fate has come for dear Master…but his evil and devious
plan will now come to light! I am Android Number Twenty-Two! The Red
Ribbbon Army's FINAL creation!"
"How'd they construct another one so fast? I mean, Cell just died
a few days ago," Tienshinhan wondered.
"Dr. Gero wasn't stupid you know. He was a brilliant scientist,
bent on bringing his godlike vision of the world to life! Before he
put the finishing touches on Cell, he decided to create a "backup
Cell", in case he became obsolete. He created me, Android #22,
brother of Cell! His sole purpose was to defeat Son Goku, and he
wasn't going to make any mistakes in doing that! So he built me, using
mechanical parts instead of actual cells of an organism. Still, I am
able to regenerate, just like my brother," #22 finished.
"If you're finished with that little speech, I'd like to make
mine!" Said a familiar voice from behind.
Gohan turned around: "Trunks! Is that you?"
