The
Elder's Scrolls III: Morrowind Review
First there was The Arena, then Daggerfall, and
now Morrowind all made by Bethesda Softworks for PC. Except for Morrowind which
is now made for Xbox, making Morrowind one of the best RPG's of all time. The
Elder's Scrolls III: Morrowind lets you choose from 10 races each having their
pros and cons, each race let's you choose your own face and hairstyle making
the list of character choices almost endless, you can choose between male or
female in the game, choose from an Imperial Swordsman to a Elven Wizard.
The graphics in Morrowind are breathtaking, the
advance weather system is also incredible, and the music by Jeremy Soule is by
far some of the best music ever put in a game. There must be hundreds of people
you will meet in your journey, most having a quest, errand, or favor of you
which will get paid of by gold or some type of treasure. On your journey you
might find items worth a couple g.p. (gold pieces) to items worth thousands of
g.p. Also, the water in the game looks very realistic.
On your journey practically anything you see
will be able to be picked up from cups, spoons, and plates to weapons and
armor. You can sell, barter, buy, or use the items yourself in many ways. There
are many types of armor in the game each having an armor rating. The types of
weapons are endless from an Iron Dagger worth 1 gp. with an attack damage of
1-3 to a Daedric Claymore worth 80,000 gp. with an attack damage of 1-60. The
spells that can be bought or made are endless.
When you start of in the game you will be
brought upon a small town called Seyda Neen, on the dock you are able to pick
your race then in the Census Office you pick your class, there are 14 classes
to choose from from a Barbarian to Sorceres. Each having there own major and
minor skills such as the skills of Acrobatics, Luck, Sneak, Blunt Weapon,
Marksman, Short Blade, and Destruction for attack spells to name a few skills,
or you can create your own class by choosing your skills on your own and
creating a new class, or you can even answer questions which will choose which
class you belong in. Your main skills will be your health bar which will
determine how much damage you can take before dying, then your magic (mana)
determines if you have enough mana to cast a spell, and then your fatigue which
determines how fast you can run and how much damage it woud take for you to get
knocked down.
When your done, your journey begins you may want
to follow the main misssion of the game or choose not by joining other guilds
which have quests for you in return for valuable treasure there are hundreds of
houses, manor's, clubs, dungeons, palace's, tombs, ruins, camps, city's,
plantations, caves, towns, and more, many of them having valuable armor swords,
etc... When you're on your journey you will run into many strange creatures,
some weak and some very powerful.
What you wear in the game moves realistically
when you run same thing with the swords, and the spells look very realistic,
sometimes it might be bright and sunny out side, or it might be cloudy,
raining, or you might find yourself in a sandstorm. Also this game could take
months (not weeks or days!!) to beat, even if played straight through, it may
take even a two months if played fast, but if you're taking your time it might
even take a little more than a year........... But don't worry you will
probably never get board of this game even if your stuck on a hard quest, there
are many, many other quests to take and you could come to the hard quest later.
Overall Graphics: 100% The graphics are
absolutely amazing, the rain, water, weapons, armor, trees, plants, animals,
people are VERY detailed and also the buildings are incredible as well.
Story: 100% There are endless possibilities that
can happen at the end which all goes back to everything you did before, such as
did you kill many people, were you a nice person, etc. also as you first play
the game and get farther and farther the story gets deeper and deeper, and plus
it's very hard to get bored while playing this.
Sound: 95% The sounds the animals and creatures
make is great and the rain sounds so real I thought it was raining outside!!
Also the sounds of the weapons and sounds in great as well, but the main music
is a tad more dramatic then what I like.
Control: 100% The control for the Xbox version
is very smooth and is very similar to Halo. I haven't played the PC version.
Rent?: 10% Buy?: 90% I think this game is so
good that you should straight up buy the game, but this game is not for some
people.
Overall: 100% This game is a must-have game and
it is definitely worth 50.00 and not a penny less.
Game Time: 50 to 250 hours E- mail me at Trunks2603@att.net
