Beyblades
 Genre: Anime Rated: Children
Beyblades is a pretty nice show, it is baisically about a boy who wants to become a Beyblading champion. If you don't know what Beyblades is then you've come to the right place. Because here will tell you exactly what it is, and how to play it. Baisically, Beyblades are little spilling top-like things, that are released after you pull a rip cord and make them spin an high speeds. You can actually go and buy them in real life too, which earns this anime some nice popularity, because unlike Yu-Gi-Oh it doesn't take much skill to play this game. So baisically each Beyblade has it's own strength and weakness, depending on it's design. Each Beyblade can be taken apart, and tweaked up, or repaired. In a Beyblade battle, the 2 challengers release their Beyblades into a Beystadium, which is gradually tilted towards the center. So that the Blades will always meet in the center, the last blade to remain spinning in the Stadium wins. Thats it, thats baisically the way to play it. Anyways, back to the show, In the show, i mentioned a boy. This boy is named Tyson. He has a beyblade. He wishes to become the best Beyblader around. But when he meets up with a kid names Kai, and he looses miserably, he devises a plan to beat him. He prays to his family's sacred spirit guardian, The Dragoon. And the next morning, he finds that the Dragoon had moved from the statue that it was locked in, and into Tyson's Beyblade. Now he has the power of the Dragoon in him, so then the second time Tyson meets up with Kai, the battle ends in a tie since both spirits (Yes Kai had the power of a spirit in his Betblade too) ended in a draw. From then on, they hook up, and travel the world together, meeting new people and adding them to their group. Animation -- 4/10 The Animation in this Anime is sufficient enough to get the point across, but baisically for everything else, it sucks. The animation is probably worse than Pokemon and we all know how bad pokemon animation is. Anyways, when it comes to the actual battles, i'd have to say that the animation improves a little, but not by much. As a matter of fact you could even say that it just stays the same, but the animators put in some special things that you don't see everyday to make you think that there is better animation. The few times i've seen the show, it's been alright animation, but if you compare it to other animes, it isn't that great, the joins and faces of the characters don't really move that great, and you can't really see the expressions on their faces as well as you would say something like Rurouni Kenshin or an anime like that. Overall there is still a fairly good amount, i mean it's not that terrible that it deserves a 0/10, but it's not the best. Story -- 7/10 The story is quite nicley put together. Why you ask? because it's not repetative, you actually don't know whats coming, in most other animes that are shown on TV, the hero always seems to win each battle, but for the few eposides that i watched, i was surprised a couple of times because Tyson (the Hero) didn't win. He has actually lost quite a few battles. Which makes the show that much more interesting, and it's not like they were wussy battles either...they were some pretty big battles -- it just makes you want to watch it. Every time the show ends, you want to know what happends next, because you never know. For some of the obvious stuff you might be able to predict who is going to win, like if Tyson were to go up and face some amazing Beyblader, then you just know he's going to lose, or if he were going against some guy that totally sucked, you know he's going to win. But it's not like in Dragonball Z where a bad guy somes along, and they beat him, and then another bad guy comes along, and they are defeated, and then another bad guy, and so on. There is actually quite a complex and interesting storyline in the show, that i would say kids, and teenagers would like. I even know some people who are older than me and they are obsessed with Beyblades. Overall, it's not the BEST storyline, but it's still quite interesting, so it got a high rating. Sound -- 6/10 I won't lie to you, as ML said in his review of Dragonball Z, sound is quite an important factor in the production of an anime. With no sound there just wouldn't be any will to watch the anime. Sound gives the anime a texture and life. In This anime in particular, the sound is quite good. It fits the anime. So if you were to take the sound an play it by yourself, without watching the anime, or without knowing that the sound came from, it would suck majorly. It's one of those animes in which the sound only sounds good if you see the pictures along with it. The sound quality is good overall, meaning that you don't hear that static crap in the background. The voices of the characters are quite pleasant, and fit their characteristics perfectly, for example, in Dragonball Z, you can switch around the voices all you want, and it will all sound the same, but here, i cannot imagine Kai with Tyson's voice, or something wierd like that, so the voices were well chosen. Overall i would give this anime quite a high sound rating because i can tell that they put a lot of time into creating their sounds, and choosing the people to act as the characters' voices.
