 | **Detroit wins game 3** Sunday June 9, 2002 --Shenron | | Brett Hull with the tying goal sent the Red wings into overtime only to be scoreless for the next 2 overtime periods. After the next 2 overtime periods, The Detroit red wings finally managed to pull through to score on Irbe and win the game 3-2 against the Hurricanes.
The game was into it's 3rd overtime period and heading onto the 4th. And has now been confirmed as being the 3rd longest NHL game ever played in the history of Hockey. But that matters not, when in fact the Red Wings won the game, and they now lead the series 2-1 over the Carolina Hurricanes. Game 4 will be on Monday night in Carolina. |
 | **New(spro) formatting** Saturday June 8, 2002 --Shenron | | | well, i was playing around, and i guess i got bored, so i reformatted the newspro thing, now the layout of the news looks a bit better, and since i am bothering to waste my time posting this on here, and typing for so long, then i guess i am still bored. Because if i weren't then i wouldn't be posting this, and you wouldn't be reading this, dam i'm abot to get into one of those endless posts again, i do it all the time when i'm bored, so i'm going to say bye now. And also because there's like 20 people harrasing be on MSN. |
 | **Playoffs** Friday June 7, 2002 --ML | | | The Carolina Hurricanes have struggled on the power play during the Stanley Cup Finals, and Thursday night Kirk Maltby poured some salt on their wound by scoring a shorthanded goal to get Detroit rolling in its 3-1 Game 2 win. One common aspect of the Finals has been the remarkable play of Maltby and the "Grind Line." Saturday, the Hurricanes look to answer Detroit's victory when they host the first-ever Stanley Cup Finals game in North Carolina (8 p.m. ET, ABC, CBC, SRC, NHL Radio) |
 | **Updates on General** Friday June 7, 2002 --Shenron | | Here's the deal, i have the end of year exams and projects and homework and all the crap from school coming up, and the due dates are also coming up pretty quick, so i won't be posting that much, if not anything for at least 2 weeks, that means until something like June 20th.
Then when June 20th hits, I will be on my summer break, and you can expect some serious changes to this site, since I will be at home the whole day with almost nothing to do, for 2 months, so just have a bit of patience until I get through the busiest part of the year. Oh yeah, and Red Wings won...!!!GO REDWINGS!!! |
 | **Red Wings Even the series** Friday June 7, 2002 --ML | | | With big-time scorers continuing to struggle, the Detroit Red Wings turned to a couple staples from their 1997 and 1998 Stanley Cup teams Thursday night. Norris Trophy defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom seemed to be on the ice all night long, and the "Grind Line" of Darren McCarty, Kris Draper and Kirk Maltby did their thing as the Red Wings evened the Stanley Cup Finals with a 3-1 victory at a raucous Joe Louis Arena. |
 | **Red Wings Shaken up...** Wednesday June 5, 2002 --Vegeta | | | On the day after Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals it was hard to tell winner from loser. Both the Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings were calm, cool and collected as they broke down the events that led to Carolina's exciting 3-2 overtime victory. The lessons learned will be put into practice for Game 2 of the Finals, which will be contested Thursday night (8 p.m., ESPN, CBC, SRC). |
 | **Red Wings** Sunday June 2, 2002 --Aerowyn | | | Over the last six years, the Detroit Red Wings' roster has been chock full of talent. Two consecutive Stanley Cups in 1996 and 1997 made the Wings the envy of the entire NHL. Despite failing to make it back to the Cup Finals since, the boys from "Hockeytown" have put on quite a show in recent years. But moderate success wasn't good enough and this year a new-and-improved Detroit team plans to knock off the Carolina Hurricanes and hoist yet another Stanley Cup. |
 | **The Battle Of The Super-Powers** Sunday June 2, 2002 --Aerowyn | | | On paper, Detroit wins the 2002 Stanley Cup hands down. But, as the Carolina Hurricanes will be quick to point out, the Stanley Cup Finals are played on ice, not paper. On ice, gaudy stats and all-star resumes mean little. There, what matters is skill, grit, determination and a will to win. The underdog Hurricanes aim to prove that they have all those characteristics in abundance when the Stanley Cup Finals start Tuesday at Detroit's Joe Louis Arena. |
 | **Avalanche Defeated (Auriv-Roy)** Friday May 31, 2002 --Shenron | | Tomas Holmstrom scored two first-period goals Friday night and Dominik Hasek (above) stopped everything as the Detroit Red Wings eliminated the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals by a final score of 7-0. The Red Wings won their third Clarence S. Campbell Bowl, emblematic of the Western Conference championship, in the previous six years - Two resulting in a Stanley Cup in 1997 and 1998. The Red Wings will host Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals at Joe Louis Arena at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes in a game seen on ESPN and the CBC, Dominic Hasek Setting a new playoff record with 5 consecutive shutouts!!! It's over Biatch!!! Detroit is heading to the Finals and are taking home Lord Stanleys Cup!!! |
 | **The last battle** Friday May 31, 2002 --Shenron | | | Either the Detroit Red Wings or the Colorado Avalanche will go home packing Friday, when these bitter rivals clash on the Joe Louis Arena ice in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals (7 p.m. ET, ESPN, CBC, RDS). If you're a hockey fan, well, it doesn't get much better than this climatic showdown in Hockeytown. In a contest full of stars, this last duel could easily be decided by an unlikely hero, like we have seen all postseason long. |
 | **Wings won't float away....** Thursday May 30, 2002 --ML | | | With its season on the line, Detroit turned in its best effort of the Western Conference Finals in Wednesday's Game 6 at the Pepsi Center. The result was a 2-0 victory against Colorado that forced a Game 7 in this wildly entertaining series between the West's best two teams. Brendan Shanahan scored a first-period goal and Dominik Hasek made 24 saves to pace the NHL's best regular-season team. Game 7 will be Friday at Joe Louis Arena. |
 | **Here it is...** Wednesday May 29, 2002 --Shenron | | | Hello and welcome to the newly powered up Capsule Corporation, yes you guessed it, CC has gone Super Saiyan. It is not a bit more organized, and not as cluttered as the last layout, well...all the layout i do are always a bit more organized than the rest, but anyways, just enjoy your stay at the new SSJ Edition of Capsule Corporation...lateZZzzZZ gotta go watch the Detroit/Colorado game |
 | **Leafs Are OUT!!!** Wednesday May 29, 2002 --Shenron | | | The never-say-die Toronto Maple Leafs couldn't stave off elimination for a fifth time this postseason. The upstart Carolina Hurricanes, behind a Martin Gelinas overtime goal and 35 saves from Arturs Irbe, advanced to their first-ever Stanley Cup Finals with a 2-1 Game 6 victory Tuesday night. Mats Sundin made things interesting late in regulation to force overtime, but Carolina wouldn't be denied. The 'Canes will now play the winner of the Detroit-Colorado series. |
 | **Leafs must stay alive** Tuesday May 28, 2002 --Vegeta | | | The Toronto Maple Leafs, facing another must-win situation, host the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday in Game 6 at the Air Canada Centre (7 p.m. ET, ESPN, CBC, SRC). Carolina needs the road win to book its first Stanley Cup appearance. Maple Leafs coach Pat Quinn missed Games 3 and 5, with assistant coach Rick Ley running the bench in his absence. Ley said he expects Quinn to return for Tuesday's contest. |
 | **The Legacy of Goku** Sunday May 26, 2002 --Shenron | | Yesterday i downloaded Legacy of goku onto my computer, and played a bit. It took me until this morning to beat the game, that game is so gay, it is pathetically short, and there is absolutley no point in playing it. It has ok graphics, but it is really not worth buying the game, it might be fun to play the first time, but trust me, after you beat the game, in 4 hours, like i did, then it's really boring, and you'd want to give it back. It is ok in terms of music, and cut scenes, and the intro is taken directly from the opening of DBZ, so thats also kinda cheap, the ending scene it pretty good, but thats about it. Everything else is really kinda pathetic. So unless you're really obsessed with DBZ, and have a ton of money, then don't buy it. Because even i feel bad for wasting my time downloading it for free. |
 | **It's not over quite yet...** Saturday May 25, 2002 --Shenron | | | Colorado did exactly what it need to do Saturday afternoon, winning Game 4 by a 3-2 scoreline to even its Western Conference Finals series against Detroit. Chris Drury, left, scored his second game-winning goal of the series. In other action, Curtis Joseph played his finest game of the series, stopping 27 shots as the Toronto Maple Leafs shut out the Carolina Hurricanes 1-0 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. |
 | **Double-Header** Saturday May 25, 2002 --ML | | | Todays’s double-header of Stanley Cup Playoff action figures to be one of the most exciting days of the postseason. In the Western Conference, the Colorado Avalanche hope to square their hard-fought series with the Detroit Red Wings at 2-2 in a 3 p.m. ET game on ABC, CBC and RDS. In the nightcap (7 p.m., ESPN, CBC, SRC), the Carolina Hurricanes are determined to oust the Toronto Maple Leafs and book the franchise’s first appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals. |
 | **New Music Video** Friday May 24, 2002 --Shenron | | this music video that i have just made, has by far surpassed all the ones i had ever made before, it is the new featured link at the top of the page there, so you can go and download it there, or you can go to the Music video page and download things from there.
Whatever yu choose to do just do it and do it fast, but the only disadvantage is that it is 26MB, but trust me...it's worth it. |
 | **Leafs are getting Thrashed** Friday May 24, 2002 --Aerowyn | | | Carolina's Arturs "Archie" Irbe played the game of his career in a 3-0 victory over Toronto on Thursday. Irbe made 31 saves and registered the first playoff shutout of his 11-year career. The veteran, Latvian goaltender has Hurricanes fans screaming "Archie! Archie!" by giving up only four goals in the four games. Carolina now has a lead in the series of 3-1, and are going to a home game on saturday night... |
 | **General NHL news** Wednesday May 22, 2002 --Vegeta | | | If you dont know already, The Canes won the last game against the leafs, and now lead the series 2-1, on other note With the Western Conference Finals all even heading into Game 3, neither the Colorado Avalanche or Detroit Red Wings are happy. And, in reality, neither team should be happy. Both teams have struggled mightily at times in the first two games of this much-anticipated showdown. Now, each team hopes that trend ends in Wednesday's Game 3 (8 p.m. ET, ESPN, CBC, SRC) at the Pepsi Center |
 | **Leafs...Canes...Game 3...Who will win?** Tuesday May 21, 2002 --Vegeta | | | Toronto Maple Leafs coach Pat Quinn will not be behind the bench at the Air Canada Centre tonight (7 p.m. ESPN, CBC, RDS) for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Quinn was taken to the hospital for undisclosed tests Tuesday. The Leafs are no stranger to adversity in this spring’s postseason, having persevered through a score of injuries that only recently has returned Mats Sundin, Darcy Tucker and Tie Domi to the lineup. |
 | **Wayne Gretzky** Tuesday May 21, 2002 --Aerowyn | | | Be sure to tune in to NHL Live today between 1-3 p.m. ET when "The Great One," Wayne Gretzky stops by to talk hockey with hosts Jim Cerny and Don LaGreca. Listen in as the hosts and "The Great One" take your phone calls, e-mails or messages via MSN Messenger on a wide variety of topics. |
 | **Hurricanes win game 2** Sunday May 19, 2002 --ML | | | Niclas Wallin, scored on a slap-shot in overtime and Arturs Irbe made 26 saves as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 in overtime to even their Western Conference Finals series at one. Toronto Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin returned from a broken wrist and chipped in an assist, but it wasn't enough. |
