Return to the Tournament
Waiting for a taxi, the group wonders where Kamesennin is, saying he sure is taking his sweet time! Krillin starts to moan that the registration will close, until Kamesennin come out all happy-like, saying he was just blocked up! Bulma wishes she hadn't heard that and they all finally get a taxi, heading to the tournament arena. They make it finally, with Yamcha and Krillin both remembering the last time they were there. Kamesennin asks them to hurry up and register, making them both run up and tell their names. Kamesennin then asks if a Son Goku has come in yet? The register tells him that that's the boy that got second last time, but he has not arrived yet. Kamesennin is unhappy to hear this, while Krillin hope he gets here before registration closes. Kamesennin hopes he hasn't forgotten, with him being irresponsible. Yamcha looks at his watch, saying there's only five more minutes! Bulma knows he will come, since he really wanted to come to this. Lunch thinks about this, saying that the prize money is 500,000 zeni, making Turtle say that weapons aren't allowed.

Kamesennin sneaks over to registration, asking if the person could allow in Jackie Chun? The person asks if he means last time's winner, making Kamesennin take off his glasses, saying that this is their little secret. Bulma looks at her watch, seeing only three more minutes. Krillin wonders where Kamesennin, making him say he went off to the bathroom! Turtle scolds his master, saying that he has to watch his diet. Kamesennin yells out that he was only peeing! Just then, an old man and two young men behind him walk up to our heroes group. He laughs a bit, saying that he is Turtle Master! Kamesennin looks behind, saying that it's Tsurusennin, the Crane Master! Kamesennin is shocked to see him alive, making his opponent say that he is still nothing but a foulmouthed idiot, as always. Tsurusennin explains why he's here, telling Kamesennin that he heard his disciples did very well last time. It shows how horrible this tournament has become, so he decided to enter real fighters, which are his fighters. Tsurusennin laughs, saying that he is sorry. He understands if they start to run home over the embarrassment. Kamesennin laughs, saying that his sense of humor is really bad! Tsurusennin calls Kamesennin a baldy person, making Kamesennin yell out that Tsurusennin is half bald! Tsurusennin then asks his disciples to go, since they don't have time for this. The tournament will surely be a fun!

Yamcha asks who that person was, making Kamesennin explain that he was a rival of his, Tsurusennin! Lunch switches topics, saying that there's only one minute left! Yamcha asks for Puar to change into Goku, so they can enter. Puar understands and just about changes, until Lunch sees someone coming. Goku runs as hard as he can, asking if it's really his friends he sees!? Everyone cheers, while Goku pants a bit, saying hi! Yamcha tells Goku that it's been a while, making Goku ask how everyone has been? Kamesennin, on the other hand, is registering Goku. Bulma asks Goku what is up with his outfit, since it looks like leather skin. Goku asks if she is Bulma, while Yamcha compliments Goku on his new height. Goku asks if he really did grow, but Krillin tells him that he has grown too! Kamesennin walks back, saying that they were all worried and what happened to Kintoun? Goku reminds him that he said to not use his Kintoun. Oolong asks if he swam the whole way here, making Goku say that he did, from a place called Yahoi. Everyone is dumbfounded, saying that that place is on the opposite end of the earth from where they stand! Just then, an announcer screams out that all fighters report to the gymnasium for the preliminary rounds! Kamesennin is glad to hear things going underway and they all head that way.

Goku, Yamcha, and Krillin all dress up, all in orange, Kamesennin-style outfits. Goku is glad to be back in his old uniform, while Yamcha asks Krillin if he sees any change in Goku at all? Krillin confesses that he doesn't see any, while Bulma screams over a wall that they had better pass the preliminary rounds! They all scream they will, while Kamesennin, over the wall with Bulma, tells them to show what three years of training does! Now, every fighter is in the gymnasium, making Krillin realize that there are more people than last time. On another side of the room, two fighters notice the trio, saying that they all made the finals last time! Outside, Puar asks where Muton Roshi went? Oolong swears he saw him a minute ago, while Bulma makes fun of him, saying he's probably on the pot.

However, he's inside the gymnasium, with people staring and gawking, seeing the previous champion back for a second helping! Goku runs up to him, saying hello. Jackie give his hello, that they meet again! Goku is glad that he came, making Goku also say that he will try his hardest this time! Jackie laughs, saying that it looks like he's been training! However, Jackie tells himself that he has been training secretly too, since he doesn't want to be upstaged by his own pupils! An announcer tells everyone that he is happy for everyone coming to the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai! Since the numbers of the tournament seem to increase every year, they have decided to hold this tournament every three years. And this year, an astounding 182 fighters have entered! However, only eight will be chosen to go on and fight in the finals! They must all prepare to give their all now! While saying this, Goku is eating a rice ball and Yamcha and Krillin give Goku a scared look.
