Kingdom Hearts

Disney/Squaresoft
Are you a fan of Final Fantasy games ? Or are you a fan of Disney games ? Well, either way, you’ll love this game from the point you start playing it. Even if you’re not a fan of Disney or Squaresoft. You travel to 10 or more Disney worlds saving them from the “Heartless.” It’s like you’re re-living the movies. It’s great. There’s Disney characters and Final Fantasy characters, but you play as Sora. Sora is the character you will control throughout the game. He’ s a young boy who lives on Destiny Island with his pals Kaira and Riku. One day, his community is invaded by a hostile force called the Heartless. With his home in shambles, Sora winds up in a place called Traverse Town. Together with the aid of 2 new skillful warriors ( Donald & Goofy ) he must overcome the threat of the Heartless.
Worlds:
- Wonderland
- Olympus Coliseum
- Deep Jungle
- Agrabah
- Monstro
- Atlantica
- Halloween Town
- Neverland
- Hundred Acre Wood
- Hollow Bastion
Gummi Garage:
The gummi ship is the transportation for you to get to other worlds. It has flying and shooting capabilities, you’ll need to collect new gummi blocks. Then, you can customize the ship so it would fly faster and shoot more powerful. This is one of the flaws in the game, it really wastes a lot of time.
Mini-Games:
Kingdom Hearts has mini-games! Yes, it does, but only a few. Here’s some of them; collecting 99 Dalmatians, Jungle Slider, and Mushrooms.
GRAPHICS: 8/10
The graphics are well-done. Not perfect, but well enough to make you proud that you brought the game. It has occasional frame drops when a lot of characters are together. Otherwise, the cut scenes are great and the opening Cinema scene was spectacular.
SOUND: 7/10
The sounding is kind of low, but I really don’t know the reason. Maybe the kid from 6th Sense didn’t match Sora’s voice ? It’s just that the sound doesn’t appeal to much like other games does.
MUSIC: 10/10
Have you ever heard any Squaresoft game’s music and thought it was bad ? I don’t think I ever did. It’s partly done by Squaresoft, of course there’s good music!
GAMEPLAY: 8/10
The controls are a little hard to get used to, I agree with many other reviews. It’s not quite exactly like Final Fantasy games although it’s pretty similar. Kingdom Hearts is a really fun game to begin with, but I got bored at Atlantica ( because it was hard to swim underwater ). It’s a long game, well, it is a RPG.
TOTAL: 8/10
When I first found out that Squaresoft and Disney were coming out with a RPG/Action type game. The words that came out of my mouth were “ what are they thinking?” Then I saw previews/screenshots/videos of the game, and I just couldn’t wait for it to come out. Well, this is what I think of it; it’s a little above average. If I gave this game a school grade it would get a “B.” So here’s what I recommend…get the game, it’s good for about 60 hours of gameplay.Í
