Site History

Birth of a DB/Z/GT Website
Saiyanz-Legacy.com started on a sub-domain hosted by my friend who owned a gaming clan at www.clanrv.net, we started with the basic decent information, a little multimedia and some webmaster sections on September 29th 2002. I had been making gaming sites before I entered the anime community and had to make some adjustments. One major difference is the sizes of the two communities, the gaming community is incredibly small, with only a few sites that are eye pleasing and carry good information, on the other hand the anime community is huge and has tons of sites and many of them are high quality. Another thing was the attitudes of webmasters in the anime community, they had huge lists of affiliates, I was somewhat shocked to see this because in the gaming community I had only affiliated with close friends.

Trying to Earn a little Respect
Everybody who runs a website wants to see their traffic grow, whether they want to admit it or not. I did not want run a big site with lots of media, one, it was illegal, two, I could not afford it, three, I enjoyed writing up info. I (DarkAssassin), started to write up lots of informational sections at this time, I had got a full Biographies section and Techniques Guide done. At around that time we released one of our greatest site layouts to this day, our "Revamped" Edition, it was popular among many fans and ripped by a bunch of Dragonball - Z - GT website, although I won't give any names. It was grey and had an orange scheme to it also. At around that time also we started to turn some heads, and people became interested in visitng us. We applied for partnerships at some respected sites and some accepted them, such as SSSGohan and the old Saiyan Invasion.

*Drum Roll* A Domain!
After months using a superlong website address, we recieved a domain, as a generous donation from Kevin who owns DBVortex.com. All the staff members and I were thrilled, no longer did we need a .vze.com. Then days after getting the domain, we started hunting for a domain host. My friend who owned a hosting website at the time offered to host it for us for free, so I gladly accepted his offer. Unfortunatly, his servers were unreliable and went down every other day, so we were forced to find a new and more reliable host.

Finally a Webhost
A former affiliate of Saiyanz-Legacy.com offered to host our website for free. Brandon from Dragonball Vatal Network, who now owns Vatalhosting.com, generously set an account up for us and gave us unmetered space and bandwith. At around that time, we also stopped hosting Dragonball/Z/GT Full Episodes and movies on our media server and switched to music videos and movie clips instead. Unfortunatly our media server crashed only days after, with all our media lost and no-back ups since most of the clips were original, and made by past staff members who were no longer with us, we had no way to recover it.

SaiyanZ Network - Present Day
Shortly after Saiyanz Fury's return in mid 2003, SzF and SzR started talking about SaiyanZ Network once again. After they got it up, it was logical for me to apply. I sent both an email expressing my interest in joining. We talked for a while in a chatroom and they finally accepted us. We are proud to be networked with such great sites, including Saiyanz Fury, Saiyanz Rage and Saiyanz Power. Days later Dragonball Silver (DBSilver.com) hacked us and we took down our site for a day, Saiyanz Rage offered to host us because of Vatalhosting.com's server problems, so we switched hosts. And.. This is basicly where we are at!
