THe Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers

Rated: AA
Day of Release: December 25, 2002
Category: Fantasy/Adventure/Action
Length: 179 Minutes

After watching this film, i decided on one thing, this is very important, because if you don't read the books, and if you don't watch the first film, then you will get totally screwed in this film, and you won't know whats going on. You have to have watched the first movie, which i think almost everyone which a sense of humanity did, and if you did watch the firast movie, i wouldn't think that the movie would be as enjoyable as if you had read the first and second novels. The novels go in depth more behind the story, so that when you actually watch it, even with all the detail, they still miss some things to fit the 3 hours. You can watch it and remember, OH YEAH i remember reading that, but back to the movie, it was quite amazing, there were some nice special effects, and the story was tied together very well, even though they missed a huge chunk of the Two towers at the end, they still made the movie understandable in every way, you could literally tell the new characters, and who they were before their names are even mentioned.

The story picked up kind of sloy from the beggining, but near the end it really picked up pace and took us into the Lord of the Rings world that we really love, the one we grew up reading, the great battle of Helms Deep. This battle was done very well, with a special graphics engine which conrtols every character and baisically makes every single one of the 10, 000 orcs have a mind of their own. The battle was extended much longer then it was in the book, and hence the reason that they might have had to take out the part at the end with the spider. The ents were pretty well put together also, even though they were kind of skinny, and when reading the book, i don't think anyone got the impression that they looked like that. The ending was tied up, and patched up very well, to set up the beginning of the next movie, which i can tell will be really good, and will close up, and finalize all of the openings, and sub-plots that are existant.

Nudity: 2/10
Action: 9.5/10
Comedy: 7/10
Special Effects: 8/10
Acting: 8/10

Overall: 9/10
