Gohan's
Vengeance
Chapter Two: "Mass Confusion:
Who is the Assassin?"
They were rejoicing over the defeat of
Cell. Trunks had just left, and Goku agreed to come down from the
Heavenly Realm of Kai, even though he said he wouldn't. The reason he
allowed himself to be wished back was that Chi-Chi told him she was
pregnant. He couldn't resist the fact of another son to train, to
love, and to nurture him into adulthood, so that he would be a great
warrior.
"Oh, Chi-Chi!" Bulma had said. "I'm so glad for you! I
can give you my old maternity clothes."
"Are you sure you won't need then again?" Chi-Chi made sure.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Vegeta hates children! Sure, he loves
Trunks now…even though he was an-" Bulma cleared her throat,
and then whispered, "-accident."
"What about other-" Chi-Chi also lowered her voice to a
whisper, "-accidents?"
"Oh I'm sure we're covered…I'm on "The Pill","
she said briskly.
Chi-Chi said goodbye and hung up the phone. She was feeling a bit sick
to her stomach; she was still in her first few weeks of pregnancy. She
hurried to the bathroom.
Gohan and Goku were watching a Dr. Slump video in the VCR.
"That Arale-chan! She gets in the craziest predicaments!"
Goku chuckled. He pressed pause.
"Chi-Chi? When's dinner ready?"
"You just got finished defeating the evilest monster the galaxy
has ever known, and your sitting there watching cartoons and asking ME
when's dinner ready! Goku you never cease to amaze me," She
frowned sarcastically.
"Yep!" He said happily.
"Oh, Goku! I'm so glad you're alive," she said with a small
tear. She hugged her husband; they fell onto the couch and began
kissing passionately.
"Not now, honey, Gohan's watching," Goku warned quietly.
"Don't mind me," Gohan said, annoyed and a bit grossed-out.
Goku got up, "Come back, Gohan!" He pressed
"Play", and they began watching Senbei Norimaki chasing
around Arale with a big fishing net.
There was a flash of light, so bright that it blinded them. They heard
a window shatter, and what sounded like a mini-earthquake. The light
died down. And to Gohan's horror, he found his father sprawled upside
down, hanging over the back of the couch. And what Gohan saw would
then perturb his dreams and nightmares. Goku looked perfectly fine,
except for his face, which was burned, charred, and mangled to an
unrecognizable form. Blood was dripping from his head.
In a blur of emotion, fear, and confusion, Gohan burst through the
door and into the woods. He tripped over a rock and skinned his knee
to bloodiness. He ignored the searing pain, and got up quickly. He ran
further, and further, having no idea where he was going. His confusion
and sadness were blocking his sense of any other thought. He tripped
again, and tumbled down a hill. He landed, hard, in a valley. He got
up anyway, and looked around. He saw a huge, maroon colored figure.
"Wh-Wh-Whaaat-t?" It looked exactly like the person Gohan
had just seen die a few days ago. "Y-Your C-C-Cell!"
"Wrong, boy! I am known as Android #22, brother of Cell!"
The man said. "I killed your father, and I won't hesitate to kill
you!" #22 flew off, though, out of distance.
Gohan fell limp to the ground, and cried himself to sleep.
