Subject: ADV Manga Talks Chrono Crusade
  Wednesday 14th , January 2004 -=- By {-SzR-} drop me a line
-ADV has sent out an e-mail today with a few details about their upcoming release of Chrono Crusade (which they announced back at Otakon)

Excerpts from their e-mail:

How will ADV release the manga's title. Will they keep the Japanese version Chrno, or simply go with Ch rono?

-- It is the ADV Manga mission to preserve the integrity of the original format. However, for this particular title for mass market distribution in an English speaking population, Chrno would be perceived as a mi! sprint. The title will be released as Chrono Crusade.

Is ADV going to release an English format of Chrono Crusade?

-- Yes. The first volume will appear in stores in May 2004.

Will ADV Manga keep the colored pages, or convert them to black and white?

-- Like we said earlier, it is the ADV Manga mission to preserve the integrity of the original format. The color pages will stay in color and be of the exact same color quality as the original.

Subject: Some online Anime news
  Thursday 01st , January 2004 -=- By {-Kensei-} drop me a line
-Courtesy The Hollywood Reporter via Daniel on the last day of the year:
Bandai Korea, the Korean branch of Japan's biggest animation house, opened a video-on-demand Web site in Korea at the end of November, bringing its vast and popular catalog to a cartoon-hungry country. By taking its product to the Internet, not only can Bandai avoid many of Korea's Japanese culture restrictions banning such Japanese exports as music videos and films (many of which are scheduled to be repealed in the new year), it is also a sign of the significance that the online world is gaining as a broadcast medium. Individual episodes of programs like "Gundam" cost 800-1,200 won (about $0.65-$1) depending on the bandwidth of the broadcast. "We would like to afford cartoon fans a chance to watch our content," says Shinsuke Kojima, the digital contents team manager at Bandai Korea. "We hope to have 1 million downloads in 2004."
