I'm not very fond of Eva, but I know alot of you people out there who are. It's like the Star Wars Special Edition of Evangelion, in its ultimate, most high quality, top notch form. I wouldnt count on seeing a Box set of this calibur hitting the states for a few years, since you can already get the Evangelion Perfect Collection from ADV, and the two movies from Manga Entertainment. But... if your really THAT hardcore of a fan, you can always import it (applying that you have a region free dvd player).
Other than that... underground sources suggesting that the next volume of the Evangelion manga should be hitting in Japan soon (yes, it's still running!), I have no details about it really, but hey, more Eva will keep the fans going (seriously, I cant get into this series! Damn Shinji whacking off every 5 minutes!).
Now for something I ACTUALLY ENJOY, Time Asian Magazine's website has published an nifty article regarding Shonen Jump's success! Check it out hereTime Asian Magazine
It's great news that Shonen Jump is selling so well, but this is by all means, no way a "fad". Anime is not a fad, its art! Commerical Art ^.^ Even after all the Pokemon crazed died down, people still buy it and go nuts over it, hell Nintendo makes a new game every single year. Holy... I think I finally found what kind of editoral I should do for SzR! "Is Anime a Fad?" heh heh... that would work out pretty well... -=- Izlude.
-Subject: Shonen Jump Best Selling EVER, and more news!
Posted on Tuesday, February 18 2003 -=- By {-TheQuestion-}
-Issue #1 of Shonen Jump has reached the highest number of sales numbers ever recorded by a comic book in America. Never has their been one release that has sold more copies. This is a huge step up for manga, and anime in general to topple those American heroes we know such as Spider-Man and Super Man.

In further news, Rurouni Kenshin which will be coming to Toonami shortly with edits coming in the areas of blood and language. The show WILL NOT have a second run-through so make sure to catch it when you can!

Whelp that's it. I cannot WAIT for YYH to become as popular as DBZ. I'm a huge fan of the series and actually run a site about it, however that is down right now. Also, if you want to check out the Kid's WB TV ratings go here. Alright everyone, this is TheQ signing off.

-Subject: A replacement for DBZ Audiences ?
Posted on Tuesday, February 18 2003 -=- By {-SzR-}
-FUNimation has taken steps to turn Yu Yu Hakusho into a DBZ-sized marketing phenomenon. The show has moved to Toonami, scheduled to air right after Dragon Ball Z in order to best position Hakusho in the minds of the maturing DBZ audience. Jakks Pacific, new owners of the DBZ toy license, have signed on to create Hakusho action figures. Score, publishers of the DBZ card game, will sell a Hakusho-based CCG. Source = ANN
I think this is FUNimations attempt at keeping the "Teen" audience as DBZ is shortly coming to a close. I enjoy Yu Yu Hakusho and hope this works for them. If Yu Yu Hakusho can produce the same selling numbers in all of the above catagories I am sure more Anime will become mainstream. Although I think that FUNimation should target a more mature Anime. We all bash FUNimation (I know I do) but you cannot ignore their Marketing "POWER". Hey Money talks ! My 2 Cents. For all you new and upcoming webmasters I would seriously look into creating a Yu Yu Hakusho section. STAFF you with me on this LOL -=- SzR.
-Subject: DBZ Game is a big hit WORLD WIDE

-First DBZ news - Bandai, the game's publisher in east Asia, today announced that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, the PS2 fighting game on the TV Series, has sold more than 1.94 million units in 20 countries worldwide. The game was published in the United States by Infogrames. This figure includes no sales from Japan, where the game was only just released on the 13th, thus proving that the franchise has developed some very strong legs outside its home country.
The March issue of EGM Electronic Games Monthly, says a possible Kingdom Hearts movie and tv show could be in the works.

-Subject: Follow up to SzR's post, Bandai press release
Posted on Monday, February 17 2003 -=- By {-TheQuestion-}
-First off, I would like to make a follow-up to SzR's post. Last night I was flipping through a copy of an old Anime Invasion when I stumbled upon this image. It basically explains exactly what SzR stated in his previous post, and pretty much confirms it. So the first two seasons, including all the episodes that were cut out WILL be re-done.
Secondly, Animaton Insider has again come though with this article, stating that in a Bandai press release, they confirmed that the series "Kikaider" will be coming to Cartoon Network this Summer. CN has not made any statements about this yet, but Bandai has more or less confirmed it. It is currently unknown during which block the show will air. The series sounds interesting to me, and if you wish to read about it follow the link to the article. That's all for now, adios amigos!

- Ah yes. What is this thing called Tokyo Online. One of the better forums on the internet. You can find people from the likes of Tim from DBZGT Legacy, Myself, Deano of DBGTN, Yac from VBBang and many more cool webmasters on the net. Also to note, this is probably the only place that you can probably hold a long conversation with me and get to know the "PERSONAL" side of SzR. This place is pretty mature, I mean if you go there you'll see what i mean. I mean from the subtle little use of words from Saiyan1 to the Graphic AWE of //NUG// you'll find yourself posting all day. Also with scripting wizards like Deano and Trigunflame, you can find a lot of support for the ever popular PHP and MYsql. Don't worry if your not into gossiping, they have an awsome RPG forum that I have never seen before. Its no secret that these forums are run by MajinGOHAN and MADneo themselves (you know the crazy fools over at Animega), and I must say they got themselves a little diamond in the ruff in that being the Tokyo Online Forums. Well hope to see you there ! @ Tokyo Online..
